Top top top top top top and top. Incredibly lovely people and amazing food. It doesn't get better much more often. A must do in Lucca!!!

Per 21 is located on a side street near the central square. As the name suggests, the restaurant only has 21 seats. There is a small menu with both fish and meat courses and of course pasta is also a must. The tasting menu for under 40 euros includes three courses, a fair price for really delicious food. We liked it so much that we went there a second time during our holiday week. If I could raise one point of criticism, it would be the temperature of the wine served. The white wine was chilled, but the red wine was taken straight from the shelf by the charming hostess. Of course, this is not the actually sensible 12-18 degrees, depending on the type of red wine. Surprisingly, during my Lucca week I only found one wine bar that had the wines at the correct temperature. Amazing in a country like Italy. Best restaurant in Lucca, we more than enjoyed the dinner! The food was delicious, very good service: a welcome surprise.

Restaurant situé dans le centre historique de lucques. Accueil sympathique de la gérante. Le voyage gustatif avec le menu dégustation à été réussit. Plats cuisinés avec des produits frais et de qualités. Nous avons même eu la chance d etre servit par le chef cuisinier. Je recommande ce restaurant de qualité.

Pier 21 – means twenty-one seats. But also implies “is regarded as a sacred number, symbolizing extrasensory knowledge and spiritual connections.” And this is could not be closest to the truth. We were truly lucky to find this place late Thursday night. We were the last customers and the place stayed open till midnight, until we finished our dinner. No rush though… We were a little bit tired of Tuscany’s traditional cuisine and were looking for something more contemporary, such as a high-end seafood place. And this place was exactly what we were craving for: seared tuna and swordfish were the choice, and we were constantly infringing upon each other’s plate to taste both dishes. It is very important in my view to have a souse and create a pallet where the best is extracted from the fish and make the whole testing to what the chief wants you to explore. The chief takes you to a culinary journey, and all you need is to trust his over 25 years of experience from cooking in major metropolitan places: from NY to Singapore and back to Italy. The desert was a nice complement to the main course. The wine selection was a rose. We started with two glasses and ended up ordering another full bottle. Who is lucky enough to live in Lucca or to travel through-make a stop at Pier 21 and you’ll thank me later.

The restaurant has a perfect layout for the number of seats and the arrangement of the tables, it is possible to speak in a low voice, the climate is pleasant and facilitates conversation, an exceptional menu with few things but extremely well-finished and tasty, with the possibility of a really good tasting menu. price for the raw materials used, the lady is very nice and discreet, she knows how to do her job excellently so that even the cook (I think it is the husband) who shows up every now and then, offers a type of catering and accommodation that is unique in the city, and as in general reviews are the most reliable thing in recent times to get feedback from customers to maintain standards or improve them but in this case I recommend not changing a comma. One of my favorite restaurants in Lucca! Always fresh food and innovative choices. The seafood is superb.
