Acqua Pazza In Ponza

An experience worth having. Stellar food, environment and service. Advised.

We were guests on Tuesday 23 July in this splendid reality on the island of Ponza. There were 3 of us and we took the tasting menu, strictly based on fish. It was a great experience. Thank you for your courtesy and hospitality.

Dopo una splendida giornata in barca in quest’isola meravigliosa abbiamo deciso di cenare in questa location magnifica, accarezzati dal rumore del mare e con la spensieratezza e la tranquillità che un momento così importante come la cena dovrebbe avere. Premetto che recensire una stella Michelin è cosa assai arguta, ma serve a tutti e serve soprattutto a loro. Arriviamo alla cena: Personale super disponibile, accomodante e che rendono l’esperienza un bel mix tra informale e sofisticato. Abbiamo optato per menu degustazione (95€ a persona) come sempre facciamo in ristoranti Michelin per assaggiare tutte le scelte degli chef. Un ottimo antipasto di seppia in doppia cottura da provare assolutamente. 2 primi assolutamente consigliati tortelli di dentice con una salsa di pomodoro fredda (gazpacho) veramente ottimi. Ma un plauso va fatto assolutamente per i fusilli i con scampo in doppia cottura DIVINI. Ultimo ma non ultimo….sua maestà : LA FORESTA NERA, il dolce in esplosione che ci ha accompagnato alla fine della cena e alla piacevole passeggiata nelle stradine dell’isola. Conto totale 265€ (Nota negativa una coca cola 8€ un po’ troppo). Data della visita: luglio 2024

Excellent restaurant in Ponza, a must on this lost island.

Overall good. The location is certainly the best in Ponza, breathtaking. The guys in the room are all very knowledgeable and very kind. The only downside is the owners. Exceptional appetizers (raw), but first and second courses leave something to be desired for a starred restaurant. As a first course I ordered spaghetti with prawns, but I received a revisited dish (spaghetti, prawns and spinach sauce...). It wasn't expressed on the menu, and I pointed it out to the waiter, who very kindly suggested sending it back (but I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes). Once I tasted the first one, it was simply a pasta with spinach (there was little or no prawn flavor). I pointed this out to the owner, and his response was "strange, I measured out the ingredients myself and they were perfect, they must have made a mistake in the kitchen"... OK.. Fish main courses were ok, but nothing special. The dessert, a decomposed tiramisu, was really good. After dinner we asked for the bill. After 20 minutes I offered to go and pay at the register, but they asked me to wait. Their trademark apparently is the chef who brings you the bill.. Once the bill arrived, after another 15 minutes of waiting I got up and paid at the register. The chef is also waiting there to make you pay. Overall good, but doesn't deserve a star (apart from the location). This is obviously our experience, and maybe we had a bad night. One piece of advice for the restaurant is to leave it to the wait staff, who are very attentive and prepared. They made us have a nice evening.

Beautiful restaurant. Definitely a great experience to have in Ponza. We spent €150 between us, ordering a mixed starter of raw meats and two first courses with two glasses of wine... I left satisfied because in addition to that, a great variety of entrées are offered by the restaurant. Personally I believe that there are just as many beautiful and good restaurants like this in Ponza but all in all I recommend it if you want to have a starry experience...

Top environment, top hospitality, stratospheric food

Fantastico ristorante. Location perfetta e incantevole. Personale accogliente e attento ai particolari. Piatti prelibati che rispettano le tradizioni del posto ma allo stesso tempo si presentano particolari e unici. Ritorneremo sicuramente

The best restaurant on the island, nothing short of a wonderful location to see, the dishes are all spectacular, the staff are attentive to the customer, they never leave you alone, you are pampered, congratulations to everyone, I hope to return soon!

After 4 days of trying to get a table for two for dinner, perhaps our expectations were too high, or perhaps not. Spectacular location to say the least. Room staff and menu decidedly less. I am pregnant and after having underlined my needs several times, I was still brought dishes based on raw ingredients. Furthermore, the waiter was never sure what the composition and origin of the ingredients were. Wine list not updated, and the waiter tells my husband this only after having served him a different wine than the one requested. Long waiting times for the dishes to arrive and dishes quickly taken away even before the last morsel had been swallowed. No presentation of the dishes, no attention to the customer, which should be expected for a Michelin star restaurant.
