A Le Petarine In Verona

Cute place, beautiful writing on the walls!! The food is good to very good. I recommend the pasta with sausage and cheese and the bigoli with duck. For the rest, we had polenta with cheese and salami and a vegetarian lasagna, okay but not special. Desserts were equally good. (Unfortunately, we only have photos of those because we immediately went for the rest 😅) The owners are very helpful (they supposedly closed at 9:30 PM, but we left at 10:10 PM). We return every time we pass through Verona!

It was delicious!!! I was worried it might smell like donkey meat, but there wasn't any smell at all. Since the ragu sauce was made with real meat and no tomatoes, I thought it might be greasy, but it was surprisingly light and tasty. It was my first time trying bigoli pasta; since I ate it al dente, those who prefer softer pasta might not like it as much, but it was very delicious. The local white wine is also excellent, so I recommend trying it with the meal.

A charming place, but the real highlight is the food. I enjoyed wonderful bigoli with sardines and a braised stew with polenta that melted in my mouth. The flavors were beautifully balanced, bold yet delicate. So much quality, I was very, very happy with the experience.

A lovely little osteria with excellent food. Located a bit off the beaten path on a small side street. Reservations are highly recommended. The pasta and the appetizer were absolutely delicious. 🤤 The service was very friendly and attentive.

Discovered almost by accident, this is a little gem! The place is very warm and welcoming, as are the always smiling and helpful staff. The quality of the food is excellent. I recommend booking!

We had dinner at Osteria A Le Petarine and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is quite small and has an old-fashioned, traditional charm that creates a pleasant and authentic atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was generally very friendly throughout our visit. A couple of minor points worth mentioning: the chairs were quite hard and not particularly comfortable, especially for taller guests. The restroom is also equipped with a traditional floor-level toilet, which some guests may find less convenient if they are not used to it. We also tried to make a reservation by phone, but the number listed seemed to be incorrect. We decided to stop by before 7 PM and asked if we could reserve a table for later that evening (around 8:00–8:30 PM). We were told that this wouldn’t be possible because the restaurant was fully booked. Since we really wanted to eat there, we agreed to dine earlier instead. What felt a little strange was that after 8:00–8:30 PM, the restaurant still appeared to be only about half full. 🍷🍝That said, the excellent food and friendly service made a very pleasant evening.

The atmosphere is exactly what it promises, like that of an osteria. The food and house wine are excellent, and the staff are very kind and attentive.

When you look at the menu, you might wonder why horse meat with corn porridge is so much more expensive than at other restaurants, at 24 euros a serving. But once you try it, you'll know what true value for money means. This dish is a signature dish of the city, and I've had it several times. This place is the best. The corn porridge is smooth and creamy with an excellent texture, paired with strands of horse meat. Looking at the quaint architecture, it's an absolute feast for the eyes, the palate, and the nose—a truly immersive experience.

LA LASAGNA PIU BUONA DELLA MIA VITA!! I always dreamed of finding a place in Italy that felt less like a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a family kitchen and this place was exactly that. Family-owned, warm, authentic, and full of heart. Some of the negative reviews completely miss the point. There were moments when the restaurant looked empty, yet the owner explained they were fully booked because the kitchen only serves a limited number of dishes at a time. And honestly, that’s the beauty of it. They care more about quality and the experience than rushing tables or serving huge quantities. We had the lasagna and Verona’s traditional anchovy pasta, and both were absolutely perfect. You can truly taste the care and tradition in every dish. A special experience that felt genuinely Italian in the best possible way.
