The service was good and fast but the pizza had no taste, it certainly made with low quality ingredients and was a bit burnt. The cocktail was very good to compensate a bit.

A truly distinctive venue located in a cistern beneath Piazza Vittorio Veneto. In its early years (hence the name), there was even the option of playing virtual golf. It's also an ideal location for birthday parties and other celebrations.

We had lunch at the 19° Buca restaurant, and it was a truly special experience. We ate wonderfully: excellent pizza, a platter of high-quality local cured meats, and a truly excellent Primitivo red wine. But what makes this place unique is the hospitality, which is simply unparalleled. At the end of lunch, the owner took us on a guided tour of the restaurant, telling us about the beauty, history, and artistic interest of the establishment. A rare and precious gesture, demonstrating genuine passion for his work. At the end of the tour, he also offered us a drink, a gesture that made us feel like true guests, not just customers. A place where you eat well and feel welcomed with all your heart. Highly recommended!

During our stay in Matera, we chose this restaurant, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. Typical Lucanian cuisine with a tasteful twist, generous portions, and authentic flavors. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the location in the Sassi makes everything even more special. We'll definitely be back!

The pasta and risotto are mediocre. Spaghetti carbonara was quite runny, the bacon was of low quality and the entire dish was tasteless overall.

What can I say? An experience not to be missed! Aside from the beautiful city itself, there's nothing better than ending the day with a delicious pizza on the 19th hole! Fantastic food, a quaint location, and excellent service. Congratulations!

31/12/2025: We ate there on the first night of our stay in Matera, recommended by a couple of people. The prices were average for a restaurant—it's not a trattoria—and we spent €110 for two. There was a bit of a mix-up with our table, as the one assigned to us was already taken, but they quickly found an alternative. We ordered two appetizers, two first courses, dried solcetti, wine, and a passito. The traditional peppers were truly delicious and unique; we didn't particularly like the pumpkin parmigiana; it tasted strongly of fried egg, which completely covered the flavor of the pumpkin. The two first courses were fantastic: orecchiette with turnip tops, anchovies, breadcrumbs, and crumbled peppers, and the strascinati with a cream of cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, and chestnuts—a unique delight. We were disappointed that there were no house sweets or bitters, only biscuits or dry sweets and Amaro Lucano. All in all it was a great experience and I would gladly go back, perhaps to try the pizza.
