05/01/2026: We went to this restaurant both at the recommendation of the managers of the hotel where we were staying in San Vigilio, the Chalet Corso, and remembering the episode of Four Restaurants where poor Uli was unfairly undermined by the other contestants, despite having received the highest scores from the chef. The judgment was a real thrill for both me and my family. And the Maso is truly quaint and charming, the staff is excellent, and the dishes combine tradition with research into tasty and refined combinations.

05/01/2026: I was fortunate enough to stay at this Berggasthaus in Val Badia in early January 2026, and everything was absolutely fantastic: the kind and charming staff and owners, the comfortable beds in the attic dorm with a small balcony overlooking the full moon, the clean bathrooms with hot showers, the fabulous dinner in a relaxing atmosphere, and the well-stocked breakfast with local products and a wide selection. I hope to return someday. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

06/01/2026: A high-altitude culinary experience. We're at 2,000 meters and can only be reached by cable car. You'll find revisited traditional dishes, all high-quality and delicious...from appetizers to desserts. Extremely friendly and welcoming service, knowledgeable and attentive staff, and reasonable prices. The view, however, speaks for itself. After lunch, you can visit the adjacent Lumen photography museum, also highly recommended.

05/01/2026: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend the Alpin restaurant at Kronplatz. Despite having a reservation, we had to wait over 30 minutes, which is unacceptable for a supposedly upscale restaurant. The advertised standard is only mediocre: the tables are far too close together, and room dividers obstruct the otherwise beautiful panoramic view. The service seems disorganized. Despite asking for the wine, it arrived late, so the food was already cold. The cheese fondue was particularly disappointing: instead of an Alpine classic, we were served a lukewarm Kochkäse (a type of German cheese spread) that was more reminiscent of the Odenwald region than the Alps. Anyone who wants to offer top-notch cuisine in the Alps should compare themselves to the Hospiz Alm in St. Christoph or the Sonnenbühl in Kitzbühel – there you'll find quality and hospitality. Here, the price-performance ratio is simply not right.
