21/08/2026: The Leiter Am Waal restaurant is known for its excellent service, delicious food, and fantastic location with a stunning view over Algund. This time, too, the food was delicious, and we were once again treated to capable and friendly staff who were very attentive to our every need. The quality, compared to the price, is far superior to other restaurants. Unfortunately, I could only give the "ambiance" four stars, as it got quite crowded, which also increased the noise level. Sitting on the terrace, you can enjoy the view while you eat. We were also delighted that the restaurant even celebrates birthdays, and we were asked who we would like to congratulate upon arrival. The crème brûlée was also very tasty. We have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. 🤗 Reservations are highly recommended. 👍

20/08/2026: The three of us had a table outside, which was covered. You should definitely reserve in advance; otherwise, finding a free table is highly unlikely. The restaurant has a truly wonderful ambiance, with a stunning view from the outdoor area of ​​the valley and the mountains stretching all the way to Merano and the village of Tirolo. All the staff are very friendly and attentive. We ordered the grilled vegetables with scamorza cheese, the Wiener Schnitzel, and the spare ribs. Everything was absolutely delicious and definitely ample and filling... only the spare ribs were a bit dry and not very juicy. But still tasty. For dessert, we had creamy ice cream with maple syrup, walnuts, and caramel, which was perfect. And the wine list leaves little to be desired. A wonderful evening. However, the limited parking is a problem. We had a reservation for 6 p.m., making us early diners, rather than the average diner in Italy/South Tyrol. In other words, we were able to choose one of the few parking spaces. However, when we left the restaurant shortly before 8 p.m., all the regular parking spaces (about 50 meters below the restaurant) were occupied, and the access road/path to the restaurant was packed with cars on the shoulders. Some guests were even parking in the adjacent apple orchards (where the apple trees are planted). Not ideal. Every available space was being used for parking. This also meant that getting out of the parking space and leaving was a bit of an adventure. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best experience, and this is something to keep in mind when planning a visit. It's true what they say: the early bird gets a (good) parking spot and can then enjoy the restaurant in peace. Nevertheless, we were very satisfied overall and will come back. Unfortunately, it rained, and the clouds were moving through the valley, so only a small part of the great view from the restaurant is visible in the video.

15/08/2026: Honestly, a disappointing experience. The food was authentic, but ordering without knowing the price isn't serious. The crescents were bland and under-seasoned. I asked for a little parmesan, but they gave me four teaspoons. The wine was incredibly expensive, not even in a bottle: €15.50 for half a liter. The wait times were biblical. We shared a table, luckily with nice people.
