One of its strengths is undoubtedly the cuisine: the menu changes frequently—even weekly—and always offers original, carefully crafted dishes, with excellent vegetarian and vegan options, generous and flavorful. The staff is young, kind, and truly welcoming, with special attention to everyone. Even on the busiest evenings, they maintain a warm, cheerful service, something rare these days. The option of dining later than average in the area is also greatly appreciated. The space is small but welcoming; if you're with a large group, it's best to reserve a table, especially for the restaurant area. The outdoor seating is lovely on nice days, away from the chaos but still just a stone's throw from the city center. The selection of beers and wines is also good, with fair prices and in line with the quality. In short: a simple yet refined, authentic place with a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere. Perfect for those who want to eat well, feel welcome, and discover a corner of Bolzano that has endured through time and in the soul. Highly recommended!

27/10/2025: Unfortunately, all the staff at the cash register or at the coffee machine are always nervous and give rude answers, especially to a lady with short hair. It's a shame because the products are delicious. No problems with the people in the dining room, always kind.

11/12/2025: Great experience! The squid ink linguine with shrimp and vegetables was truly excellent: balanced flavors, fresh ingredients, and meticulous presentation. The affogato, creamy and perfectly served, also rounded off the meal impeccably. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service attentive. Highly recommended.

11/12/2025: Very nice hotel with a pool/sauna and free parking. It's located a bit outside of Bolzano, but that's not a problem. Unfortunately, it's not wheelchair accessible; there's no elevator.

26/10/2025: We spent the afternoon of our civil wedding with a larger group and had a fantastic time! The service, food, and drinks were simply fantastic!

20/12/2025: I left a €50 deposit and had to cancel after 10 minutes due to an error. I called and asked if I could reverse the transaction, and they told me that to get the deposit back, I only had to take €20 because they were keeping €30 for the refund. This doesn't seem normal to me; I've never heard of anything like it.

Everything in Gasthof Kohlern invites you to slowly appreciate the beauty of life: the natural environment, with an amazing view of the surrounding mountains; the cuisine, with delicious and refined dishes, the wines, the breakfasts; the simple elegance of the rooms; the peace and quiet; and last but not least, the generous and considerate kindness of the staff. Viele Dank: you make this place a perfect combination of charming and soothing.

In macrobiotics, food nourishes when it's cooked with love, when the chef cares for the soul and emotions as well as the proportions and nutritional pairings. Pasquale and Doris are family to us. When I want to eat healthily, gluten-free, and organically, I come and will always come here ❤️🧘🏻‍♀️

24/10/2025: The breakfast is a real wow! I wouldn't have expected such a selection (muesli!) in a small hotel. My pajamas were folded on the pillows that evening. We were looking forward to a quiet night on the side facing the pedestrian zone. Not quiet at all! Drunken people shouting, fast cars, garbage trucks, and so on... Tip: Ask for a room at the back. The distance (400 meters) from the possible parking garage (Rittener Strasse 5) should be noted in the listing! You have to go to the hotel first, get the key, and then back to the car.

20/05/2025: Kind and welcoming people, the pizza is good every time we order it, the owners always give a drink for my son. What can I say, people like that are hard to find anymore.
