16/06/2025: A few steps from Porta Nuova, in the heart of Marsala, Le Caserie welcomes you with the grace of simple and well-kept things. The name, in the Marsala dialect, recalls those terracotta pots in which flowers and plants are grown: a perfect image to describe the care, dedication and love with which the Sammartano family takes care of their guests. I have not personally met the chef – whom I have long admired on Facebook – but his children are the living proof that education and respect are the first form of hospitality. Our room, on the first floor, was easily reachable by elevator (which unfortunately had a slightly particular smell, but it was only one floor – nothing that ruined the experience). Large, bright, with a private bathroom and all the useful accessories: hairdryer, shower cap, soap, shower gel… And then that kind gesture that makes the difference: a free bottle of water in the mini bar. The details of the fabrics and colors recall Sicilian majolica, in an atmosphere that smells of earth and tradition. The bed? Soft as a hug. A small problem with the air conditioning was immediately resolved with promptness and courtesy: we slept in the cool and with a smile. And I thank the staff from the bottom of my heart for helping us with our luggage when, due to an electrical fault, the elevator stopped. Gestures that are unforgettable. Breakfast... a true feast for the heart and the palate! Served in the beautiful restaurant room, with homemade desserts, such as a delicious grandmother's cake with pine nuts and custard, an apple pie with dried fruit, and an irresistible chocolate cake. Nothing was missing: sweet and savory options for all tastes. The staff was sweet, attentive, always with a genuine smile. And then that internal atrium, bright and full of character, which brought my heart back to Frida Kahlo's Casa Azul in Mexico City. A blow to the heart, in a good way. 💙 At Le Caserie we felt pampered, welcomed, at home. Marsala has become a second home for us... and we can't wait to return. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. You have given us a little piece of beauty and human warmth. 💫

02/08/2025: We had mixed feelings about our visit to Sireno Mozia. The food was undeniably very good—our pizza was excellent, the caponata outstanding, and even the tuna, while slightly overpriced, was well prepared. This is clearly a kitchen that knows what it’s doing. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite match the quality of the food. Our table was placed directly in front of the kitchen entrance, right next to the service station and along the main corridor leading to the restrooms. Staff carrying plates, clearing tables, or grabbing cutlery constantly passed in front of us, creating a distracting, noisy atmosphere that significantly took away from our enjoyment. To make matters worse, it was a windy day, and although the terrace had plastic windshields, they offered little protection where we were seated. My daughter’s hair was flying around throughout the meal. In contrast, the interior tables seemed completely protected and calm, making the contrast even more frustrating. The staff spoke enough English and made an effort to follow our Italian, but they appeared overwhelmed—often rushing back and forth, which added to the general sense of chaos in that part of the restaurant. What also stood out: the manager was noticeably warmer and more engaging with Italian-speaking guests, while maintaining a cooler, more distant attitude toward foreign visitors. It left the impression that tourists are not particularly welcome, which detracted from the overall hospitality. Interestingly, I returned on another day to pick up a takeout pizza—and it was a completely different experience. The weather was calm, the terrace was fully open, and there were more tables available. The atmosphere was far more relaxed, and I could imagine actually enjoying a proper sit-down meal there. In short: the food at Sireno Mozia is worth trying. Just make sure to go on a windless day—and ask for a table away from the kitchen and service areas. Also, manage your expectations on service, especially if you’re not a local. It could make the difference between a great meal and a frustrating one.

01/08/2025: A very good restaurant; the fish, meat, pizza, and Sicilian dishes are highly recommended. The staff is quick and attentive, but not annoying. It was a delightful evening; I would definitely go back.

22/07/2025: A great find Small place with a few seats on the street as it offers takeout The quality of the products is excellent The best pane cunzato I've tasted in Sicily. The fried fish is not at all greasy and made with fresh fish. The panelle are delicious The prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.

22/07/2025: Discovered thanks to the Gambero Rosso street food guide, we returned to this place twice during our short stay in Marsala. The food is excellent, the ingredients are top-quality, and Vito is a wonderful host. Highly recommended!

08/04/2025: Siamo entrati con la fame di un esercito in marcia... e siamo usciti con la fame di due eserciti e una leggera crisi esistenziale. Il menù era più misterioso del finale di una serie Netflix, ma senza la soddisfazione del binge-watching. Abbiamo ordinato dei panini: il pane era così duro che abbiamo controllato se fosse parte dell’arredamento. Il prosciutto, probabilmente, aveva nostalgia del frigorifero. Il caffè? Una pozione al gusto "bruciato con accenni di disperazione", servita con un sorriso che gridava "aiuto, liberatemi da qui". L’unico lato positivo? Il conto: così salato che abbiamo pensato fosse compreso nel menù "mare". In sintesi: un’esperienza che ci ha unito... nel trauma. Ma oh, almeno adesso abbiamo una storia da raccontare! (considerate il contrario di quello che ho scritto)

13/07/2025: Unacceptable granitas. The mulberry one is made with industrial syrup, the worst I've ever had in my life. The mandarin one is almost polar. I don't understand why there's a line.

09/07/2025: The best granita and brioche I've ever eaten in my life, being Sicilian I've tried several... highly recommended for quality, goodness, variety of flavors (even soy ice cream never seen in the north!) cleanliness and the whole place 💯💯💯💯

29/06/2025: Pizza orrenda immangiabile, prodotti scarsi di pessima qualità,per poi non parlare della mozzarella acquosa ed insapore, se non riuscite a fare una pizza nel 2025 ed accontentare la gente mettendo prodotti non dico top ma magari nella media ed essere in linea con altre pizzerie , il mio e solo un consiglio costruttivo,anche chi risponde al cell pregasi di essere piu cortese con chi telefona per prenotare, perche siamo noi che vi diamo da mangiare a voi ordinando le pizze! Scrivetelo bene in testa! Ps aggiornatevi che siete all eta della pietra!
