12/10/2025: We first caught the attention of Michelin Guides about this restaurant. Located in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Magnificent views. Excellent tasting menu. Excellent value for money.

27/09/2025: We came to the restaurant for its gourmet evening menu and its reputation, but we were disappointed. The setting was splendid, with the meal on the panoramic terrace and a decent meal with very professional waiters. The biggest problem was the sommelier: a cold welcome, a haughty attitude. When I asked for a sweet white wine as an aperitif, which was on the menu, he told me there wasn't one. When I pointed out that it was on the menu, he replied that it wasn't up to date (!) and that "as an aperitif, we have bubbles" (!). He went back, and I heard him making unflattering remarks about the French and laughing with his colleagues. When we asked for a wine pairing, he told us there wasn't one and that we should only have one glass of white and one of red because the tasting menu included fish and then meat. We had two meat dishes, and the wine pairing and his knowledge of the menu were superb!! We've never received such service from a sommelier in a fine dining restaurant 👎 Poor

31/01/2026: I have to say that the pizza is good, but they need to cook it more. This time I got the raw pizza, and it was the first time my boyfriend did. Both I and he couldn't digest the raw dough. Pay more attention to this, otherwise it's good.

08/12/2025: The best pizza by the slice in Varese, both the Margherita and the pizza, which taste great, are light and don't leave you feeling bloated the next day. I also tried the gourmet Zola and spicy ones. If it's made with poor quality ingredients, you'll drink a lot at night and feel heavy the next day. Theirs gave me a great night's sleep and no nighttime thirst. Friendly and smiling staff, a clean and quiet environment, quick wait times for a Sunday evening (they do a lot of takeout orders), and a truly excellent value for money, especially considering it's in Varese (which now seems like a Swiss branch due to the high prices). Highly recommended.

02/05/2025: BAD, very bad! We went for lunch on a day when there weren't many people; in fact, there were only a few tables occupied. Despite this, I was served a first course and only an appetizer (Goma Wakame) within 5 minutes of ordering, but then both I and my tablemates were served half an hour later, maybe even longer! It's unacceptable. All this for simple appetizers (I got the stuffed ravioli after half an hour, but for the following courses I had to wait another 10 minutes!). After the appetizers, we received some nigiri that to call COLD would be an understatement (in fact, they looked like they had just come out of the freezer). They were inedible. The rest was adequate/fair, some good. It's not the Shabu I remembered, unfortunately. Until a year ago, it was, in my opinion, the best AYCE in Varese, but after the latest experience, I had to change my mind. Terrible service and adequate quality (maybe not even that). €25 wasted. I hope it was a random disservice, but that was our experience. I'm ready to change my mind and leave a new, better review, but we definitely won't be returning anytime soon.

13/04/2025: This Japanese restaurant is one of my favorite places. The food is always excellent: authentic dishes, meticulously prepared with quality ingredients. The space is cozy, small but very comfortable, with an intimate atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is super friendly, welcoming, and attentive, always with a smile. My favorite dish? Udon noodles, without a doubt—warm, filling, and perfectly flavorful. A true treat. It's the kind of place you'll want to return to, because you know it will never disappoint.
