11/02/2025: I have been to Scacco Matto for various occasions, breakfast, lunch and dinner. On all these occasions, I have found nothing to complain about but rather, only positive aspects of this place. First of all, it must be underlined that it is a bar/tobacconist/restaurant, so you can help yourself in any case. Excellent choice at breakfast of numerous pastries, fresh croissants, excellent cappuccino too. At lunch, during the week, the menu becomes smaller - no pizza - but equally qualitative. The amatriciana was really excellent and the side dishes equally rich. At dinner, the pizza is to be praised. I have never eaten such a light and tasty pizza, even using wholemeal dough if desired. The menu is full of special pizzas, which are unique and must all be tried. I would also like to applaud the staff, who are extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are medium high, but the quality you pay for is excellent value for money.

08/01/2025: Magnificent New Year's Eve dinner, very professional staff and we all noticed the passion that the chef puts into his dishes. We will definitely return on a "normal" evening to taste other dishes.

25/01/2025: Locale da non perdere. Il luogo perfetto per trascorrere una piacevole serata nel cuore del centro storico di Palestrina, a pochi chilometri da Roma. Il menu si caratterizza per una ricerca in bilico tra tradizione e innovazione dove i sapori della tradizione romana vengono sapientemente proposti con leggere variazioni di accento. Assolutamente da non sottovalutare la ricca selezione di vini della cantina del locale in grado di soddisfare anche i palati più raffinati. Se è vero che Ostetia numero cinque è a tutti gli effetti un ristorante ricercato e di assoluta qualità è vero allo stesso tempo che l'ambiente famigliare è in grado di diventare il protagonista assoluto della serata. Consigliatissimo, anche perché la trippa... non potete capi!

06/01/2025: We went just last night and it was a very pleasant discovery. Very welcoming and intimate atmosphere, delicious cuisine. It has several choices and the flavors are delicious and very well balanced. Right portions! I highly recommend.
