05/11/2025: We've been living in Schenna for four years now, but only just managed to visit the new owners. It was well worth it! As befits a visit to such a centuries-old inn, we chose a table in the original, preserved 15th-century smokehouse, where, unfortunately, there's no longer an open fire. The food—venison medallions and sliced veal with grilled porcini mushrooms—was absolutely exquisite, as was the selection of drinks. Despite being full with several groups, we received excellent and friendly service throughout and were even treated to a complimentary limoncello at the end! We wish Thomas Schönweger and his team all the very best and will be back soon!
31/10/2025: A first-class, cozy, and stylishly furnished inn dating back to the 15th century. We dined there twice during our vacation and felt very comfortable. The service is excellent and attentive. Reservations are recommended. This inn offers fine dining, which should be taken into account. If you're looking for a special evening, this is the place to go. We highly recommend it.

12/11/2025: What a view! And what a Kaiserschmarrn! For me, the best in the world. A true culinary delight.
The host family is incredibly friendly, and Mrs. Zmailer has received numerous awards for her creations, especially those using local herbs, such as her nettle soup and dumplings. It sounds unusual, but it tastes unusually good too! 👍 👍 👍
And if, for whatever reason, you don't want to eat here, you should at least try one of the excellent spritzers made with local berries—they're fantastic! Sitting at Zmailer's, enjoying the view, gazing into the distance at the surrounding mountain peaks of the Merano Basin, the Val Venosta, and the Val Passiria, and simply letting things be... that's all you need to be completely happy! 😀😃🙂

The food, staff, and manager were very friendly and helpful.
The food was very good.
05/10/2025: Super delicious Kaiserschmarrn, not as dry and dusty as you might otherwise find. Lots of animals, a lovely alpine pasture to linger on, we felt very comfortable.

27/10/2025: A family-run establishment where you immediately feel at home. Friendly staff. A varied, excellent cuisine, a well-stocked wine cellar with a knowledgeable sommelier. Leisure activities. All framed by a prime location.
20/09/2025: We stopped here for a quick snack and a beer during our hike.
Beautiful terrace with a great view.
Both of the dishes were very good.

02/12/2025: We ate dinner at Soulfood two nights in a row. The unusual pizza creations and daily specials made us want to try everything. It was all delicious. The vitello tonnato and tagliatelle with veal ragù and truffle are highly recommended. The vegan pizza with broccoli cream, olives, broccoli, and vegan mayonnaise was a nice change from just various vegetables on tomato sauce. We'll definitely be back.
16/11/2025: A convenient, modern restaurant with a menu with many fresh options and daily specials - perfect for the families at the adjoining campground or Merano tourists looking for something special outside of the touristy areas.
The pizza was great - in Italy you cannot survive without decent pizza; my pasta dish with buffalo mozz was amazing, hitting the spot (but the portion could have been a bit larger for the price).

22/10/2025: We always love eating at Christoph's trattoria. You just have to know the two waiters, and you'll get absolutely everything you need; you're always welcome to ask. They can be a bit brusque at times, but I smile past it because I know they don't mean it. The food is truly magnificent, no matter what you order. Christoph's sister and her kitchen team are outstanding.
Reservations are essential; ask nicely; they always try to accommodate. We'll be back.
Lovingly decorated dining room.

The owners are friendly and welcoming. Do you still make macaroni alla pastora there?

16/10/2025: A modern and chic restaurant with a great view, a cozy ambiance, a very pleasant atmosphere, top-notch service, and fantastic food. The selection is large enough to cater to vegetarians. The food was technically well-executed and everything was spot-on. The portions were pleasantly large despite the supposed fine dining expectations. All in all, an absolute recommendation.

Everything is thoughtfully planned, loving, and appreciative. All the staff are warm, attentive, and tidy, and do their jobs well and with heart.
The food and the location are truly fantastic! The facility is well-maintained, and everything has been thought of for children. We were here with our two sons and our dog. Whether it's the swimming pool, the playgrounds, or the kids' paradise—everything was perfect. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for everything! We highly recommend you.

16/11/2025: We went there on a recommendation during our autumn holiday and didn't enjoy it very much. We had to wait a while because it was very crowded – if you haven't made a reservation like we did, that's fine, but we didn't feel welcome and nobody paid any attention to us. Once we were seated, the service was okay. Junior was happy with his shepherd's macaroni, which was more like Bolognese pasta, but we adults found the food rather average. In short: You can eat better in Schenna.
25/10/2025: Nice, welcoming, quiet place with a view of Merano. Booking is recommended.

19/10/2025: We were there for five days in mid-October. The reception was very warm and offered help with every question. The staff was excellent and friendly. The rooms, pool, sauna, and actually the entire hotel were very clean. The food was simply excellent. The location was great, with a bus stop right nearby, as were shops.
We will definitely go back.

12/10/2025: The location is great, close to the beach (I don't know if they have sunbeds on the beach in season, but I highly doubt it's close to the center). Food 0 for three days, every morning one type of salami, one type of cheese, 3 flavors of marmalade, no butter, rolls, coffee, juice, tea). Unlike the hotel where the other group was accommodated, this is a living despair. The rooms are clean, not that spacious, the terraces are terribly small.
