07/03/2026: The local center of the universe. The complex has a restaurant, a minimarket, a ski service, a ski school, and a kids' club with supervised activities. Excellent organization.

15/02/2026: A very nice place with a wide selection of food. You can almost always find a seat on the terrace or inside. The selection of food and drinks is extensive. Burgers, pizza, pasta...

27/01/2026: I wasn't familiar with this bakery, which is slightly out of the way from the town center but easily accessible, despite having visited San Candido on several occasions. The shop is spacious and welcoming, but—given our short visit—it was valued more for the purchase I made: a 1 kg tray of traditional, assorted, and truly delicious biscuits. I always cherish the wonderful memory of similar biscuits, homemade in Santa Cristina Val Gardena by a dear friend's grandmother, absolutely unsurpassed. Well, some of the ones I bought at the Trenker bakery reminded me a bit of my grandmother's biscuits... The price was more than reasonable, considering the "standard" of the area...

10/11/2025: Trenker at Senfter Platzl! Trenker is popular everywhere and has made a name for itself far beyond the region. I find the location lovely – a small, elegant shop with a wide selection, tucked away yet easy to find, away from the hustle and bustle and only a few steps from the center. Highly recommended.

26/07/2026: Beautiful place in the heart of San Candido, a super-nice wine cellar where you can shop, delicious food, and friendly, welcoming staff. Highly recommended...

18/06/2026: Excellent Tyrolean snack platter, wide selection of wines and aperitif cocktails. The location is also lovely, just steps from the square. Very quaint.

16/07/2026: The meal was decent. I left my cell phone on the table, but alas, I called and the owner told me it wasn't there. I went in person and he still wouldn't check. After four hours, a woman called my sister saying she could hear my cell phone ringing, and we went to get it. He left and blamed the waiter for not notifying him. Furthermore, three other patrons laughed at us because we were Roman and therefore rude. Well, a black sheep in a beautiful town full of polite people, like the unfortunate waiters who work there.

12/07/2026: The mixed grill was awful, with a side of (terrible) fries. Only the vegetables were good. The Kaiserschmarren, unfortunately, was absolutely not good: thin, dry pieces, absolutely not the right recipe. The other dishes were average. Prices were high for the local average.

04/05/2026: We ate here because all the other restaurants were full. I don't know if the waiter was also the owner, but he was really, really rude. He constantly scolded the Italian customers, and it was a bit of a strange dinner. He brought our appetizer AFTER the pasta. When we pointed this out, he rudely told us it was our fault and we had made a mess (???!!) The food quality was mediocre. We won't be back.

14/12/2025: Are we a store or a bistro? Sometimes making a choice in direction is the right thing to do! It feels like being at the Ikea in San Candido, in a context where Ikea is the last thing you expect. The same attention paid to the selection of items for sale isn't applied to the quality of the food. A plate of fusilli with zucchini and speck for €16, ordered and served in 4 minutes, can't be synonymous with quality!

29/06/2026: INCIPIT: This majestic building is one of those places that is often overlooked. Yet it bears witness to a history of urban transformations, architectural details that still speak to early twentieth-century Rome. WHERE IT IS LOCATED: The Ministry of Justice is located in the historic center of Rome, in Rione VII (Regola), at Via Arenula, 70. This description does not describe the important institutional activity carried out there, but rather the history and architecture of the building that houses it. HISTORY BRIEF: In 1913, architect Pio Piacentini presented the project for the new headquarters of the Ministry of Justice on Via Arenula. Work was suspended at the outbreak of World War I. The ministry moved from Palazzo Firenze. The new building was moved into in 1920, while construction was not completed until 1924. A significant detail: Pio Piacentini was the father of Marcello Piacentini, who was destined to become one of the protagonists of Roman urban planning during the Fascist period. Via Arenula thus preserves a small fragment of the history of a family that left its mark on Italian architecture. ARCHITECTURE: Looking closely at the building, elements emerge that reveal its institutional appearance: • Brick façade punctuated by travertine cornices and moldings. • Projecting ashlar stonework at the bottom, which lends solidity and monumentality. • Lateral loggia supported by columns, clearly visible in your photographs. • Main portal decorated with allegorical figures recalling justice, law, and balance. • The imposing inscription "MINISTRY OF GRACE AND JUSTICE," accompanied by the Italian and European flags. Despite its grandeur, the palace is immersed in daily traffic: students, employees, tourists, and whizzing buses. A monumentality that can be traversed without imposing itself, almost discreetly. FUN FACT: DID YOU KNOW THAT...? Via Arenula, opened in 1880, owes its name to the sand (arena) that the Tiber deposited along its banks. During its construction, several Renaissance houses in the area were demolished, profoundly altering the urban fabric of the Regola district. A few steps from the palace is the Ponte Garibaldi, inaugurated in 1888, which definitively connected Trastevere to the historic center, changing the life of the neighborhood. A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: This place is not marked by large tourist signs. You encounter it while strolling through the center; those who discover it are fascinated. It is an invitation to slow down, observe, and be surprised. The photographs I took are testimonies that tell all this better than any words could; they are fragments of a place that lives in the present but still speaks the language of the past. IN CONCLUSION: If this building has piqued your curiosity, let Rome continue to surprise you. The city never ceases to reveal new corners of beauty, often hidden where you least expect it.
