29/07/2026: I've known this restaurant forever, but I hadn't been back for a few years. It was a summer evening for dinner. They put us inside, saying that you have to request the outside seating when you book: maybe it would be better to ask the customer where they want to sit, I didn't even remember the veranda... We didn't even have time to order before the Tuscan appetizers arrived, even before the drinks. Large platter €11 The only thing that's great is the plate, because the dishes certainly don't justify the price. Even the cold cuts have been there for a while (they're darkening and are very visibly oozing). Pizzas: these were also served at lightning speed; we couldn't even finish the appetizer in peace. Good, fine, but the mozzarella was terrible. And I find them too expensive for the pizzas (€9 for a sausage, for example). Once the pizzas were finished, everything settled down. We waited 20 minutes without anyone showing up. Afterwards, we call a waiter to see if he'll bring us the dessert board. We choose. No one comes back. After another 15 minutes, I stop a waiter and tell him what we want. The desserts are good, but two things to note: if you serve cakes by the slice at €5 each, I at least require the slices to be the same size. However, one was just right in my opinion, the other too small. Not good. We have to ask for the bill at the cashier, while all the waiters around us are busy resetting the tables for the next day and no one pays attention to us again. Bottom line: I've been away for many years, but I'll miss many more. The atmosphere is what it is, even in the mountains: you can certainly find much better options elsewhere, and at more reasonable prices.

27/07/2026: I visited this place two years ago and was delighted, but under the new management, the experience has drastically changed. The prices feel very high for what is offered, and the food did not meet our expectations. I returned with my family to show them a place I used to loved, hoping for the same great atmosphere, but we were deeply disappointed by the service. I was so ashamed. After sitting at a table and placing our order, a staff member placed a 'reserved' sign without a word of explanation. We had to ask what was happening, were forced to leave after 30 minutes, and were not offered an alternative table. The service felt indifferent, and the welcoming atmosphere from two years ago is completely gone—there is no music or the vibe that used to make this place the heart of Popiglio. It is sad to see how much it has changed, and I can no longer recommend it to others. Nowadays it's a good place to retire.
