Leaving the city and heading towards the Pistoia mountains, the curves are truly worth the journey: Macchia Antonini is a wonderful discovery for a Sunday lunch. After a walk in the woods, surprised by the first snow of the season, you sit down to enjoy traditional dishes, where mushrooms and chestnuts blend harmoniously with fresh olive oil and bold wines. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, a true refuge you'll never want to leave. The service could be improved a little, but the restaurant is highly recommended.

Excellent restaurant. Excellent food. Delicious tagliolini with eggplant. The wild boar stew was good; next time, I'd like a steak. Beautiful location. A classic mountain dish. With the opportunity for lovely walks in the surrounding area.

08/03/2026: I just came here for a quick espresso. Obviously this business is closely connected with the personality of the lady at the bar, who looks and behaves her original way :-) The coffee was 2,5 EUR which is a lot in comparison with normal cafes but was good.
03/02/2026: If you're in Pistoia, go there. Very cute, and the owner is kind and always smiling. I went on a rainy day, and it was like the sun had come out. The school desk is fantastic.

10/05/2026: A positive experience with a Saturday evening dinner, featuring a focus on seafood, beautifully cooked and presented. The Viareggio clams with square spaghetti were excellent. Fast and attentive service. The atmosphere was quiet, even with a large number of customers. Reasonable prices for the quality. Recommended.
12/04/2026: We came here because I read the food was good, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. The wild boar pappardelle was amazing, the pan focaccia was delicious, and the fried seafood was very good (but I don't understand the point of using battered and fried shrimp, but not peeled). From the outside, it's a really anonymous place; if it weren't for the sign, I wouldn't have thought I'd be entering a restaurant, but inside, it's very pleasant.
