13/05/2025: Good, tasty seafood. Pasta cooked al dente and a non-trivial menu. The house white wine with bubbles is also good. Friendly staff and OK value for money!
03/05/2025: Not satisfied with lunch: we ordered two salads with salmon which was practically absent, the staff never passed between the tables to check if anything was missing and the price was not proportionate to what we ate

03/06/2025: At the end of the dinner my girlfriend exclaimed "this place deserves a review".
And here I am right on time.
One of the best restaurants on the island, both in terms of food and service, truly loving and friendly.
Generous portions (a rare thing these days) but above all delicious and super honest prices (another rare thing especially on the island).
The atmosphere you breathe is typical of trattorias and quality reigns supreme.
Highly recommended, very good!

30/10/2024: I had dinner in this place in July, a place not suitable for celiacs.
Helpful staff, but dining under the gazebo with people smoking is not exactly the best.
Very good sandwiches, high prices, place located on the seafront.

10/05/2025: THE DREAM of a bistro on the beautiful marina of Rio Marina! The location is great, but... and now the bistro is a picturesque feast for the eyes that is only topped by the two incredibly friendly and professional women who run the shop. Not only that they offer a small but super delicious selection of fine delicacies. They serve great drinks and cocktails that are not afraid to shine with their own creativity!

26/05/2025: Als je op vakantie bent op Elba , dan kun je niet wachten dat je een pizza gaat eten bij Claudio en Mirjam van pizzeria Mistral in Cavo .
De pizza's zijn heerlijk.

24/05/2025: Era da un po' di tempo che non tornavo al Mistral Cafè, e ho deciso con mio figlio di andare al Cavo in barca, da Piombino. Se aprile è 'il mese più crudele' (cit.) , maggio è il mese più dolce e colorato per godersi l'isola d'Elba. Appena seduti ai coloratissimi tavoli del Mistral Cafè, accarezzati da un dolce maestrale che pareva spirare da un celebre quadro di Botticelli, eravamo già in vacanza. Seduti a pochi passi dall' acqua, con la barca a vista e la veduta del canale di Piombino, la Manica 'de noantri' 😁. Siamo stati accolti da una ragazza garbata e dal portamento elegante, che ci ha offerto una piccola e gustosa bruschetta di benvenuto. Dopo una breve attesa sono arrivate le straordinarie pizze di Claudio, una Juorno buono per me , mentre per mio figlio una Nicola's dal sapore squisito e dal nome che ricorda il sorriso gentile di una persona speciale . C'è poco da dire, le pizze del Mistral sono davvero speciali; ogni volta mi chiedo quanto influisca nel giudizio il clima generale di questi minuscolo locale di questa frazione remota dell'Elba. Ma non trovo la risposta. Può darsi che la stessa pizza sia ugualmente buona altrove, oppure che, come si dice, certi vini perdono il loro sapore se gustati fuori del loro 'terroir'. Certo che la magia di Maggio non la troverete in Agosto, ma a Cavo gran baldoria non c'è mai. Da terra si arriva a Cavo dopo una strada spettacolare, soprattutto per i biker (e Claudio lo è...) Quanto costa? Le pizze non sono economiche (per quanto cara possa essere una pizza!) ; grosso modo quanto Sorbillo Gourmet a Milano Duomo. C'è gara tra i due nell' esperienza complessiva? Si va ai rigori e, per me, Mistral Cafè vince 😉

27/04/2025: Truly delicious pizza despite the electric oven, every time we come to Rio Marina this pizzeria is a fixed stop for us.
Furthermore, from this year, the pizza is served on a cutting board, in addition to this they have also added some really comfortable tables outside the restaurant.
The only idea I would suggest to the owner would be to provide disposable cutlery to her customers, in order to enjoy this delicious pizza even better☺️

23/05/2025: Siamo stati accolti con molta gentilezza,servizio veloce. Abbiamo preso un antipasto di polpo eccellente, due spaghetti alle vongole ,buoni succosi ma se devo dire un appunto formato della pasta non adatto (spaghettini) e anche un po’ troppo al dente per i miei gusti!avrei preferito un formato tipo spaghetto quadrato ☺️. Dolci buoni ma nella media. Conto un po’ elevato! Consiglio però vivamente per la freschezza del pesce!! Gentile il ragazzo che ci ha servito!

27/11/2024: I was bitterly surprised by the RUDENESS and ARROGANCE of the owner, she really left me stunned after consuming and exchanging a few cordial words, for a simple request to try a little-known flavor of ice cream her reaction was completely INAPPROPRIATE. She started by insulting the people who make this request by saying that she is there to sell and not to give away and when I pointed out that even at the delicatessen you can find samples to encourage people to buy, she almost thought I was crazy. In short, it deprived me of the small pleasure of enjoying something fresh and it took me more than half an hour to get rid of the NEGATIVITY it sent me.
My lady, you can save all the grams of ice cream you want and even buy a villa with it, but by doing so you will hardly be able to enrich yourself!
UPDATE
Stop your threats and intimidation because these are a crime, not a legitimate and truthful judgement!

The menu is quite generic with no specific description of the ingredients.
The place was empty unlike the place next door which was full and we wondered why, perhaps the reason is both the staff as mentioned before and the bill perhaps a little above average.
Taking into account the prices and quality of the food, it is better to go to other restaurants in the area.
