25/08/2025: The three of us had dinner on the evening of Thursday, August 21st (it was stormy outside).
A lovely, intimate restaurant in the lower part of Portoferraio (right by the port) with well-appointed decor. We ordered different dishes, and the meat in all of them was top-quality (I specifically ordered the Sienese beef asado, and I dare say it's the best meat I've ever eaten), and the food was beautifully presented.
Excellent service, with very friendly waiters and owners. I mentioned that I'm celiac, and they even brought me gluten-free bread separately (I appreciated that it was still sealed). The restaurant was quite busy, so I recommend booking in advance, as we did. The quality/price ratio was more than fair.
The owner was very kind and, given the weather, suggested we wait for a slight rain shower to stop before going to the car (it was almost midnight, everyone was leaving and they were closing up shop). She also advised us on the best route back to the hotel without passing through the lower part of Portoferraio, which floods easily (these were the days of the orange alert, and just the days before, there had been several floods and closures).
The only thing I'd like to point out: they have a beautiful dog inside the restaurant who stays tied up near the kitchen and is very calm and sociable (except that night when it thundered, she barked, and that's fine, poor thing). I don't know if it was just for that night or not. I'm mentioning it anyway, because someone might be afraid of her, but just ask to be in the other room.
23/08/2025: Truly excellent charcuterie platter, with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The meat was a pleasant surprise: tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly. I really don't understand the negative reviews; I had a great time and will definitely be back!

Cantina Elbana

01/10/2025: We arrived at Cantina Elbana at 6:30 p.m. and were able to get a table right away. The waiter was initially a bit surprised by our early arrival, but he was very friendly and spoke some German, so communication was easy.
The ambiance is typically Italian: cozy, with good music and an open kitchen behind the bar – very authentic. The menu isn't extensive, but it's excellently curated.
For starters, we had a cold seafood platter – highly recommended and perfectly portioned. For the main course, we had spaghetti uova di riccio di mare (fantastic, slightly spicy, and perfectly seasoned), ragu di pesce spada (excellent), and paccheri cacciuccatti for our son. A particularly positive aspect: the waiter suggested a half portion, which was still generous, but delicious!
Since the portions aren't overly large, there was room for dessert. Unfortunately, three of the seven desserts were unavailable, but the cheesecake with jam and the chocolate cake with cream were delightful.
The only minor drawback: While we were eating, the kitchen was washing up, and a strong-smelling cleaning agent was used for a short time, which somewhat spoiled the experience.
In summary: Fantastic food, authentic ambiance, and friendly service – we left very satisfied and full. Highly recommended!
27/09/2025: The atmosphere is very nice, the restaurant's strong point. The food is very good, not excellent, but still good. I had pappardelle with wild boar and sausage with beans.
I read in other comments that a flaw was the presence of bones in the ragù, but how can that be?
Top service: they even brought us other traditional desserts to try, since we were from out of town.

04/04/2025: I've been there and I have to say that the owners are special people: the husband is a professional in the kitchen, the wife is a master of detail throughout the place, and the other is very kind and friendly.

14/06/2025: Un ristorante degno di questo nome. Tutto ottimo. I camerieri squisiti. Domenico il top. Il cuoco poi…..eccellente. Il proprietario sempre in prima fila. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente l anno prossimo. Lo consiglio vivamente!!!!
13/06/2025: Buonissima cucina, personale attento disponibile e cordiale, servizio veloce , ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
Ho cenato per tre sere consecutive in questo ristorante insieme ad amici ed è sempre stata per tutti una esperienza più che soddisfacente.
Sicuramente torneremo!

15/09/2025: I had lunch with six friends. We'd landed there by chance. Frankly, I wasn't expecting much given the location and the staff. Anyway, it went worse than expected.
Served on three joined metal tables, we ate octopus, beans, and anchovies. 42 euros per person. Okay, but do you at least want to know how I ate? A disaster. The octopus was inedible. First, because there was so little of it, and second, because it was so spicy. The flavor of the octopus couldn't even be tasted in the slightest.
Conclusion... RECOMMENDED... YES RECOMMENDED. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE.

It's a little place that to call welcoming is an understatement... truly a corner of paradise with an enchanting little beach, an efficient, courteous, friendly, and welcoming service kiosk. Mrs. Marlene and all the staff really know how to welcome you and make you happy to return!!! Well done!!!

27/08/2025: It's been a regular stop for me for years! But the problem, besides the products I've had my friends try, embarrassed by the quality, is the dough that's clearly undercooked, doughy, and hard—it feels like cardboard. The worst part is the staff's treatment; the line was disorganized, and the older lady often responds with arrogance and zero customer service, but with an annoyed expression. It's shameful that a place with this reputation is reduced to embarrassing customers and making them go home displeased with both the service and the product. Sorry, very disappointed.
25/08/2025: Overrated, as many have said. Skip the line and try something else, but you're on an island anyway, and you'll never find the quality you find in some more populous cities.

09/10/2025: Beach bar with a lovely terrace and lounge chair/umbrella rentals. In a prime location, right next to a public beach area with a children's playground.
Drink prices are typically high for the area. The wait staff are sometimes too busy with themselves, leaving guests waiting. ☹️

28/07/2025: Personale gentile ed accogliente, simpatico e disponibile. Qualità del cibo media, sia per i panini che per il sushi. Locale carino. Piccolo appunto: sarebbe opportuno servire in contemporanea tutti i piatti dello stesso tavolo per evitare che quando uno finisce l'altro deve ancora iniziare. Si può fare di più 😃

05/08/2025: Mangiare in veranda, mentre il vento di mezzogiorno ti mescola i pensieri e’ un’esperienza straordinaria. Se poi le pietanze sono ottime e il servizio eccelle per cortesia e competenza… hai fatto centro.
02/08/2025: Durante la nostra vacanza all’Isola d’Elba abbiamo scoperto questo ristorantino affacciato direttamente sul mare, e ne siamo rimasti entusiasti! La location è semplicemente incantevole: cenare con il rumore delle onde in sottofondo e il tramonto che tinge il cielo di rosa è un’esperienza che da sola varrebbe la visita.
Il cibo è eccellente, con piatti di pesce freschissimo cucinati con cura e creatività. Abbiamo assaggiato un antipasto di mare strepitoso, seguito da uno spaghetto alle vongole che era un’esplosione di sapore.
Il personale è accogliente e professionale, sempre sorridente e pronto a consigliare con gentilezza. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati dall’inizio alla fine del pasto.
Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è davvero ottimo, specialmente considerando la qualità degli ingredienti e la posizione unica sul mare.
Consigliatissimo! Non vediamo l’ora di tornare.

02/07/2025: Mio marito, mio figlio ed io, con le due nonne siamo in vacanza a Fetovaia, abbiamo usufruito del servizio Take Away già 3 sere. Tagliata di manzo ottima !!! Polpo alla Griglia ottimo, schiacciata dell'Elba e pizza Ottimi !!!! Un servizio importante visto che la sera a Fetovaia o cucini in autonomia oppure devi prendere la macchina ed uscire. E' impagabile salire dalla spiaggia alle 20.30, ordinare in ciabatte e copri costume ed avere la cena in tavola per le 21 :-). BRAVI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17/06/2025: Non fatevi trarre in inganno dalla location...frittura di mare inesistente e carissima, pesce congelato;la mia era con le patate che occupavano metà piatto (praticamente 4 pezzi di pesce scarsi)
Neanche un pezzetto di limone e pane col contagocce (coperto 3 euro cadauno...)
Diciamo che come aperitivo potrebbe andare se non fosse per il prezzo non conforme alla qualità del cibo.
L'unica nota positiva il cameriere, per il resto è il solito locale che spaccia pesce sopraffino e rifila "sole" ai clienti.

01/10/2024: Da 10 anni torniamo a Marina di Campo a fine settembre per una gara...e il giorno seguente è oramai tradizione reintegrare le energie con l'ottimo cacciucco alla elbana. Il titolare (da noi ribattezzato "capitan Findus") è molto simpatico e ogni volta racconta aneddoti sulle stagioni passate. Buon pesce e prezzi congrui.
