28/07/2025: The worst coffees and cappuccinos I've ever had! Burnt coffee and watered-down cappuccino. Avoid going there, or try it yourself.

13/11/2025: My wife, I, and some friends went to Il Gabbiano restaurant.
We had dinner with various seafood dishes, all rigorously fresh and carefully prepared. The staff was polite and well-prepared, and the owner, Vittorio, and his wife, were truly knowledgeable and very professional.
When you're in Capo D'Orlando, go there. We highly recommend it.

Food: The quality/taste of the ordered dishes (😋see pictures) was really very good 👏👏👏.
Please keep up the good work in the kitchen 5x⭐️
Ambience: The ambience is very modern and clean 👏👏👏 = 5x⭐️
Service: The waiter was very exemplary and attentive 👏👏👏 = 5x⭐️
Small criticism: The olive oil bottle was placed empty on our table 🤔 (it can happen). After informing the staff, we received salad oil in bags 😢 for our salad.

02/01/2026: I was there for New Year's Eve dinner... the worst of my life... buffet appetizer... and when people slowly started to serve themselves, many dishes were finished and never replaced, and the exact same thing with the desserts and fruit, a disgrace for a dinner that you book and paid a lot of money, except for the first courses which were served at the table, the service was sufficient, rating 3... I will never set foot in there again and not just me but many of the people who were with us
08/12/2025: After calling six months in advance to confirm a reservation for a First Communion reception, the owner hasn't gotten back to me. Out of caution, I thought I'd already booked, so I called to confirm, and they told me they were fully booked and couldn't help me. I politely replied, "That's fine." I don't recommend this place because the owner isn't honoring the agreements made.

17/10/2025: Very good restaurant. Chef Giuseppe explained us every meal in detail. They use local ingredients and everything was so delicious.
06/10/2025: We arrived around 9:15 pm and were greeted very coldly, feeling like we were intruding.
We couldn't get a menu: we were simply told that there were only a few glasses of wine, beer, or cocktails left. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine... the latter was clearly a leftover bottle with a deposit, charged at €10 per glass.
There was no opportunity for a snack, and the waiter stayed behind the bar on his phone, apparently waiting for us to leave to join his friends in the neighboring restaurant.
A truly disappointing experience, to be avoided.

30/10/2025: Authentic, traditional Italian cuisine. Matheo has been running the place for over 50 years. It's well worth the experience. I highly recommend it.

01/01/2026: New Year's Eve 2025/2026 dinner to forget. The food was awful, with disgusting flavors, overcooked pasta, and everything served cold on frozen plates. The service was equally disappointing; we never had 12 diners eat a single dish together. Before midnight, they served fruit, dessert, and lentils, the latter served in a single central dish from which each person had to scoop with their own spoon—unhygienic at all. Not to mention the restrooms were not adequate for the number of guests. All this for the modest sum of €120 per person to fast... a terrible experience and definitely not to be repeated!!!!
