05/08/2025: A bit on the high side, but the food was very good and of high quality. We had the antipasti, which was a real surprise: after the obligatory basket of grissinis and bread, came some fried olives. At first, we thought it was a total tourist rip-off. Instead, we were greeted with a flood of plates of all kinds of appetizers, mostly seafood, all beautifully presented and delicious. We couldn't finish the plate of grilled meat we ordered as a second course.

03/07/2025: Beautifully located in the center, with beautifully set tables. The appetizer mix is ​​recommended; it's enough to fill you up. 12 (if we counted correctly) different small appetizers with fish, cheese, and meat. Reasonable prices. We felt a bit sorry for the waiter, who had to serve all the tables alone and was constantly running around.

16/06/2025: Very unpleasant experience. We arrived and immediately I asked if they made baby pizza for my son who never eats more than one slice and they said yes. They then brought me a normal-sized pizza, when I asked for an explanation they said they didn't make baby pizza, when in fact I had been told yes. At this point, since I had been asked if I wanted it or not, I had it taken back because it wasn't what I had ordered and the lady at the time of the bill wanted me to pay for it anyway, so I paid for a pizza I didn't order that we didn't even eat, in addition to the rather rude way of dealing with a customer who wasn't even from the area. Highly discouraged in my opinion

It's a shame, disappointed by how things can change. Maybe it was the wrong night (perhaps Saturday, when there were more people, who knows). Whatever the case, it's a shame we weren't served by Cristian again (who, I must say, hasn't changed; his attentiveness and kindness in serving the tables remains the same). Unfortunately, the waitress who served us was inattentive, almost annoyed (it's unthinkable to tell a customer to clear a plate, thus freeing up space at the table and making customers anxious), just as you can't force them to choose whether to order a first or second course after the appetizers because there are too many people and they have to choose quickly. The same goes for the owner (the other brother, the tall guy): he piled the plates on top of each other because there was little room on the table, asked if everything was okay, without even looking at you, and in the meantime talked to the waitress, conveyed the anxiety of the evening, made you understand that you had to leave the table after half an hour of being seated, and then, in short, huge inconveniences. I'm sorry, I understand everyone's difficulties, but this time it was truly awful, even the food was scarce, poorly served, and the quality deteriorated. I'm sorry, but that's how it went. Perhaps, I repeat, Saturday isn't the best; better during the week, perhaps it's quieter and everything changes.

15/08/2025: We venture into the center of Carovigno during a festive week, unfortunately surrounded by incredible cacophony. Fortunately, we dine at Caminetto, which offers simple, homemade, yet tasty dishes. The atmosphere is simple yet quiet, with good service. I was able to relax and enjoy the evening away from the chaos. I will definitely be back.

14/08/2025: Osteria Al Caminetto is located at Via Regina Margherita 11, in the heart of Carovigno's historic center, just steps from the Dentice di Frasso castle—a convenient and central location. The restaurant is cozy, intimate, homey, and slightly rustic—perfect for those who appreciate authenticity, but inevitably means limited seating. The cuisine is definitely the heart of the place: homemade, generous dishes, faithful to Apulian tradition: orecchiette with turnip tops, tagliolini with scampi, a house antipasto with over 15 courses, a large fried fish platter, snails, mixed roast meats, and much more. Prices are more than fair, generally between €20 and €30 per person, with appetizers around €14 and seafood/meat main courses between €9 and €11. Numerous reviews praise the excellent value for money: "Sincere cuisine, with local products cooked divinely according to tradition." "The cuisine is excellent, and the value for money is the restaurant's strong point." The kindness of the owners and the friendliness of the staff are highly appreciated: "Super friendly and excellent service. Good food... tiramisu... very courteous and helpful staff." 02/08/2025: We arrived without a reservation, but I recommend doing so because the restaurant, open in the summer and with good weather, filled up quickly. The availability, kindness, courtesy, and good Apulian food are a perfect combination to return to this restaurant and recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in Carovigno. Absolutely balanced value for money: appetizer, two first courses, two desserts, a small bottle of Calafuria, and water for a total of €85.50. The appetizer was spectacular (the photo shows just some of the dishes they brought us), the first courses were generous, and we finished them simply because they were so delicious, and the homemade desserts were delicious—we forgot to photograph them because we were so eager to try them 😊—and they deserve a special mention.
