Honest prices like that aren't even found in campsites on the island, which has become almost inaccessible. Le Venelle is a somewhat basic place, for those with no expectations and who know they've spent little. Spending little also means not expecting the best. There were 16 of us, four apartments. Everything was fairly new, a few broken pieces here and there, but who cares? Two barbecue grills and free firewood available, and tables outside. The place is surrounded by greenery in the countryside. The only real flaw is that the sofa beds are very uncomfortable. Ideal for groups of friends and families with no expectations, who want to enjoy the island without spending a fortune.

20/02/2026: We arrived at "La Frana" on the recommendation of our landlady. It was late and out of season, yet the lovely staff were quick to serve us excellent fresh fish, a perfect, dry and delicate fried calamari, and an excellent house tagliolini. The beef and potatoes were also carefully prepared. We had a great time, comfortable, and left satisfied even after seeing and paying the bill. Seeing is believing. 🥂

28/02/2026: A simple place, with basic but good dishes. Just steps from a natural paradise of rare beauty. Try not to go around mid-August because it gets really chaotic. Overall, for a simple, unpretentious meal, it's fine. I would check the sanitary conditions of the restrooms more frequently. If it's crowded, more thorough cleaning is needed.

She's always in line anyway...*** I'm rewriting the review so the owner understands. The staff works really, really hard. The place is beautiful. What don't I like? First, whether you've booked or not, you'll be left waiting in line outside until you're called. Second, I think they're overbooked and can't handle the influx of people. (In the summer, all the restaurants have shifts for lunch and dinner, so let's be clear.) Third, I didn't like the pizza because of the dough. And fourth, the bathrooms, which are in a small building in the middle of a garden, are dirty because of the uncivilized people? Maybe, but since anyone coming up from the beach or a beautiful garden can access it, it's not just customers who can go there. And in my opinion, the bathrooms are unusable and need to be cleaned. The prices, especially for the food, are very high. Incidentally, my opinion is shared by many people. Read all the people who gave it one or two stars. And the piqued responses speak volumes. Sic... Perfect for a last meal before getting back in the car to head home. The atmosphere: true 1900s As soon as you walk in, you feel like you've been catapulted into a post-war Dino Risi film. Simple furniture: simple tables, chairs that have seen generations, white walls. No frills, no design. But it's clean, welcoming, and "authentic." It exudes history. You can tell it's been there since the early 1900s and has never needed a makeover. The pizza Wood-fired oven. Period. He's the pizza chef: he kneads the dough, bakes it... and then he even gives you the bill. Classic Neapolitan/Livorno pizza, a wood-fired crust, simple but good ingredients. No 40 weird flavors. What they have is made well. The staff Everything wins here. The pizza chef/owner is extremely kind and friendly. He makes you feel at home even if you have a suitcase in your hand and the smell of ship lingers. He offers you a liqueur at the end of the meal. In short This isn't the place to take Instagram photos. It's the place to eat a good, real pizza before tackling the last leg of your journey. Essential, historic, human. And when you're tired after a vacation, it's exactly what you need. Highly recommended for those arriving in Livorno and wanting to leave with a full stomach and a good mood.

06/04/2026: We were a group of eight hungry sailors who came here after a long day at sea, and we all left full and satisfied. The tables were easily arranged for our group. The pizza was excellent: crispy crust, great toppings, just right. I was especially surprised that the gluten-free pizza was also really delicious; unfortunately, that's not always the case. The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere warm and welcoming. You can tell that the food is cooked and prepared with passion. For eight people, including pizza, beer, and cola, we paid around €150; I thought the price-performance ratio was very fair. One thing to note: The restaurant is small and cozy, and there's no restroom. If that's not a problem, you'll get really good pizza in a great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

15/07/2026: Last evening on the island of Elba, we were looking for a special place for dinner. Near the port of Marina di Campo we saw the L'Approdo restaurant, and we were won over by its charming appearance and the view of the sea!!! Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience on all fronts!! Terrible food, poor quality and even worse cooking, the staff gave me the impression of intolerance, the prices too excessive for the quality and service. They brought one dish at a time, practically we didn't all dine together, a terrible mistake for a restaurant. I sent back the fried fish twice, it was soaked in oil, uneatable. They didn't bring the menu to my son, who is on the autism spectrum... He can read very well... I decided with bitterness to leave this extension, which I usually don't do. I am ending my stay on this beautiful island, which has given me so many emotions, with this unfortunately negative experience. I hope it is constructive for the restaurant.
