06/01/2026: It felt like I was back in the '90s, and I only meant it as a compliment.
A pizzeria-trattoria like no other: a simple yet warm and welcoming place, with well-cooked traditional dishes and generous portions. Reasonable prices.
My wife, I, and two children ordered: a few cold cuts as an appetizer, a Margherita, a gramigna with sausage, a tagliatelle with meat sauce, a mixed grill, a portion of fries, a Coke, and a bottle of water. Total: €51.50.
Special mention also goes to the waiters, all very kind, attentive, and fast.
I will definitely be back.
Highly recommended.
03/01/2026: What can I say... I used to go there about 15 years ago, in the old place... it was a pleasant "rediscovery": the service, quality and goodness (fish...) have remained the same, well done!

05/12/2025: Christmas lunch of the A.N.A. National Alpine Association. Perfect service, traditional Emilian menu with a trio of very good first courses (tortellini in broth, lasagna, and pear and walnut risotto), second courses, side dishes, and dessert. Flowing wine! Well-kept venue. Recommended for large lunches/dinners. Congratulations to everyone!

25/12/2025: We stopped for lunch while passing through and tried the pizza.... Delicious. Fast and friendly service with excellent prices. I'm renewing my review: we went for lunch today, Easter Sunday, with my family, and we had a great time. The appetizer was excellent, first courses were lasagna and tortelloni, and for the second course, lamb and roast. Finally, the desserts confirmed the excellent lunch we had. Kudos also to the fast, professional, and kind staff. PS.... we even brought a cake to celebrate my wife's birthday, but given the large menu, we had to leave the cake untouched. Today, Christmas Day, we returned for lunch and had a great time. The menu was excellent, and thanks to the girls who served us, friendly, always smiling, and fast. We felt at home, thank you.
23/12/2025: Welcoming and friendly staff, a business lunch with a good selection, but it's a shame the second course portions are so small... if someone skips the first course, the second course is usually small.

11/11/2025: Visiting Il Peperoncino felt like discovering a hidden gem tucked just a few steps from the bustle around the Leaning Tower. From the moment I walked in, the staff welcomed me with genuine warmth, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The décor is relaxed, cosy and effortlessly charming — the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable unwinding after walking the cobbled streets of Pisa.
The menu honours Tuscan and Italian traditions without resorting to tourist-trap clichés. I sampled the pasta with truffle and sausage (the famed “picci alla norcina”) and was struck by how boldly earthy yet perfectly balanced it was. The pizza was fresh, the seafood spaghetti generous and unpretentious, and the house wine poured nicely. Portions were satisfying and pricing pleasantly fair for such quality. Many fellow travellers praise the welcoming service and attention to detail.
If there’s a downside, it would be that, because of its proximity to the major attraction, bookings are wise—this place fills up. But that also means the high standard is not accidental. In short: if you’re in Pisa and want to dine somewhere authentic, friendly and delicious, Il Peperoncino is very hard to beat.

31/08/2025: Nothing to say about the food and pizza. The problem is if you complain about the wait or if they serve their friends or acquaintances first and point it out... then it's not good... the young waitress doesn't serve you and sends her mother or aunt! For me, that's disrespectful.
