We were four of us at this restaurant on July 11, 2025. The welcome was typically touristy, but the restaurant actually offered impeccable service, good food, and excellent value.
It's a shame about the portions, which were really small.

30/09/2025: They immediately offered us a table outside, even though it was quite chilly at the end of September. The food was excellent; the tuna with Tropea onions was truly delicious. The service was both professional and humorous. Being in a pedestrian area, parking isn't the easiest thing...
13/09/2025: A good place, on a quiet street, with good service. The food is okay, but nothing stands out. The wine is very good and reasonably priced.

30/08/2025: Lido la costa degli dei is a beach where people go to have fun with their children and relax enjoying their holidays. Go there but I recommend you bring sea shoes with you, the sea is beautiful.

13/08/2025: We visited this place during the week of August 15th and found a table right away. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they knew how to manage the dining room well. We went to Don Rocco because we'd seen a fantastic aperitivo featuring both cooked and raw fish at a special price on Instagram, but in the end we opted for several dishes to share and sample. Pleasantly surprised, we recommend the peppered mussels... sublime to say the least! The view was spectacular, next to the Norman cathedral in a truly picturesque little square.

02/10/2025: The pizzas 🍕 aren't too bad, but I expected better. The prices are decent, let's say... the welcome is warm, though. For the city center, it's pretty good value for money.

17/10/2025: We have had some great meals at some really good restaurants in our two weeks in Italy and this place was our run away favourite - we ate here 3 times.
Our favourite dishes were the Fileja la Rossa (pasta with tomatoes, onion, olives and capers - perfect) and the Mastru Totu Pizza (topped with tomato, olives, capers, anchovies and burrata (like a cold Mozzarella but better)).
Sitting outside in the small square beside the restaurant was a beautiful and peaceful place to eat.
The service was brilliant. They were very apologetic that their internet was not working and we had to pay by cash (I am not sure why that would be an issue - I managed to live for 35 years without the Internet).
In writing this review I am a bit shocked to see quite a few poor reviews. Hard to understand why, based on our experience this restaurant is brilliant.
13/10/2025: The staff were incredibly kind and friendly, even with our little girls. The atmosphere was romantic and quaint, with a lovely outdoor terrace. Superb food featuring fish, octopus, and Tropea red onions. Highly recommended.

12/10/2025: This meal was so average, my worst in italy. The environment was lovely but it seemed i was not welcome here at all. The guy that seated me went and sat down to look at his phone. Another man saw this and grabbed me a menu. The meal was fairly quick to come out. I was looking around and saw other tables had bread. Eventually I was given some but offered no table water. 2 Euro coperto for poor service. I do not recommend this place.

06/09/2025: I don't know how to categorize this establishment, but I can certainly say that courtesy, kindness, and professionalism are not found here.
They don't even know what a Sicilian arancino is, and that's a Sicilian saying it. The service is non-existent, and the lady behind the counter doesn't appreciate those who stop to enjoy what the place has to offer. You'll have guessed that my experience wasn't a pleasant one, especially when I was asked (after paying for my drink) for an extra euro while sitting at the table just because my daughter came in to get a can and then sat next to me.
I certainly don't recommend it...
Never mind, but if you want a real arancina, Sicily isn't far away.

08/07/2025: Abbiamo mangiato due volte qua ed era buonissimo con prezzi convenienti: sopratutto la pasta e la pizza erano super deliziose!
06/05/2025: War hier für eine schnelle Pizza am späteren Abend. Nettes Lokal mit freundlichem Service, leckeren Pizzen zu sehr vernünftigen Preisen. Habe grosse Lust, nochmals für ein ausführlicheres Essen vorbeizukommen.
