28/11/2025: A small, intimate restaurant with a "mountain house" atmosphere. You're greeted very kindly by the chef (owner?). The menu is very unique and also caters to celiacs, dairy intolerant people, and vegetarians. There's also a meat selection. I personally enjoyed two excellent dishes. I also appreciated the unusual choice of tableware: some porcelain, some ceramic, "antique" pieces, so they don't match, but they worked very well together with that tasteful, retro touch... Bravo Chef!!!!

17/10/2025: A real surprise! The service is truly excellent, it makes you feel at home. I ate a truly delicious and rich piadina. When I return to the Formazza Valley, it will be a pleasure to stop here.

24/11/2025: We had to try several times to finally get a table during the less busy weekday lunch service, but the wait was worth it. The manager and staff were very friendly. The terrace was pleasant and well-shaded. Excellent house cocktails, including non-alcoholic options, generous portions and food, and complimentary digestifs at the end, all for a very reasonable price. A truly great place to remember, and much more authentic than the many touristy restaurants nearby that either churn out bribes or charge exorbitant prices.

09/11/2025: Very authentic, the food was excellent, and the service was simply perfect. We'll gladly come back! It's also very convenient to be able to make a reservation via WhatsApp.

17/11/2025: Maybe we're a bit too particular about our tastes. Let's start with the battered vegetables... the flavor wasn't bad, but they seemed to have been microwaved, given the soft, warm texture on the outside and the piping hot inside. I repeat, the flavor was just right. A little venison salami as another appetizer, and yes, everything fits, very good! Let's move on to the pizzas: Margherita: I could only taste the sauce; we weren't particularly thrilled with it. I had the one with the game sauce; it has three very interesting options, and I wanted to try one (1, wild boar mortadella, 2 venison salami, 3 I don't remember, but it's like bresaola, and that's the one I had). This pizza looks good, probably apart from the sauce; the rest of the ingredients aren't exactly top-quality, but still, decent quality! The pecorino cheese really overpowered the other flavors, and the arugula didn't seem particularly fresh. Anyway, I ate it all :) There were other pizzerias where I didn't like it at all, but I'd have left it without a problem! Two Cokes Zero and two coffees. All for €48. It's not cheap, but not that excessive either! I usually give a pizza like this two stars or even one, but it deserves three stars for one very important factor: the dough! I left the table without feeling bloated, and I didn't feel sick. It means the dough takes at least 24 hours to make it through, probably even a little longer! The yeast and salt were well balanced, very good! So, I'm giving it a bonus! Let me start by saying that we went on a Tuesday, so it might not be the ideal day. So, since it's a matter of taste, I probably won't go back, but you guys, do it when you're out and about, because I recommend trying it anyway. Now, I'm giving the environment one star for our experience. While waiting to order coffee, two tables back we ordered the meat on the slab. Even as it arrived, you could smell something burning. Then the customer added a touch of class (not exactly smart) by pouring oil over it, not just the meat but also the slab, developing a strong pungent odor that drove my girlfriend and I to run off to get our coffee at the counter. Besides us, two other tables also had the same problem, coughing from the strong smoke and odor. So, again, give it a try because maybe it was just our bad night, and since I'm practically certain I won't be back, my assessment of that evening is exactly what I concluded and described.

11/11/2025: I'm not giving them a star only because I want to encourage them to improve. It's definitely not a place for those who love elegance and good food. We had two pizzas, but they were rubbery and tasteless. What I would point out is that when we asked for a side of vegetables, the waitress recommended battered zucchini flowers. When they arrived, they were rubbery, microwaved (warm on the outside, glowing on the inside), and looked like they were from the day before. In fact, the arugula they were sitting on was limp. I think they wanted to pass them off to someone so they wouldn't be thrown away. At a certain point, someone at the table over ordered meat on a stone, but it was so smoky inside that we left immediately. The chairs were uncomfortable and the tables were too close to each other. We definitely won't be back, sorry.

08/11/2025: We were wondering where to eat in the off-season, and this place ended up being perfect for our family. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine, the pasta and pizza were delicious, and the Crema di Amaretto was the unforgettable highlight. Would absolutely recommend.

20/10/2025: The owner and the entire staff were incredibly nice. The hotel's location is simply fantastic. With the slightly cooler temperatures, the room was very cold because the windows weren't airtight. Breakfast was good, but not great. Overall, I can recommend the hotel.

02/11/2025: Charming hotel. Idyllic rooms with many thoughtful details. Excellent service from the staff. A superb selection at the breakfast buffet. The entire hotel has a special charm. Parking available. Quiet surroundings. Highly recommended for those who appreciate a rustic atmosphere.

29/10/2025: A small, charming, and lovely hotel in a very central location. The interior is decorated in a variety of colors and beautifully renovated. The breakfast room was inviting, and the food was very good and plentiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had three wonderful days.

11/10/2025: Cute Little Bar/Café in the central of Cannobio. The Waitres was super Kind and welcomed us with Open Arms. The coffee was good, the panini was nothing Special and lacked some ingredients instead of plain meat but they were still tasty. Pretty Ambiente with italian urban feeling. Prices were fair.

07/10/2025: Small, rustic bar, nicely shady in the summer months. Good Aperol Spritz 🤩, unfortunately we didn't eat, so no review possible. Friendly service!

30/11/2025: They are very friendly, I always have a great time, the food is good, the only thing is that when there are a lot of people it takes a while to serve, but I think that's logical, excellent. I recommend the restaurant.

25/11/2025: A truly fantastic evening ⭐️ We chose this restaurant by chance because we were hungry and it was one of the few open… As soon as we entered, we saw that it was run by Egyptians, but the menu offers a wide selection for everyone, from traditional dishes to fish and meat. The service staff were very attentive to everything and our every need… Super delicious dishes!!! And last but not least: the chocolate cake was a delicacy!!! Thanks to the whole team!!!! 26/11/2025: Right by the lake, so you start with an awesome setting. I enjoyed the the seafood pizza, the Fish Plate and really enjoyed the tiramisu. Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is not fancy, very chill and laid back. A must to visit.

29/10/2025: We only wanted to have a drink at lunchtime, and even though the restaurant was practically empty, we were refused service. We can't understand this at all, because in the off-season, you'd think they'd be happy with so few customers... and drinks are a good source of revenue. Very disappointing! Attached is a picture to illustrate just how empty the restaurant was.

18/11/2025: The food was catastrophic. We had carpaccio and tartar, which was made from dried, salted meat. That has absolutely nothing to do with Italian cuisine.

14/11/2025: Very inviting in cold weather, thanks to the decorative lighting on the patio heaters and blankets. Our drinks, wine and beer, were delicious, and the small mixed salad was good value for the price. The tiramisu was tasty, although the cream instead of mascarpone is a matter of taste. However, the pizza was a complete no-go. The toppings were good and exactly as requested, but as other reviews have mentioned, we unfortunately found that we were served a pre-made frozen pizza. We are often in Italy and frequently eat Italian food, but we have never experienced anything like this before. Very disappointing.

14/10/2025: Avoid this restaurant at all costs! Totally unprofessional! We found ourselves standing in front of closed doors this afternoon, even though Google said the restaurant was open. There's no indication on the website that the restaurant is closed today. Can't be reached by phone either!

14/10/2025: I've been to the Grotto St. Anna a few times over the past few years, but each time I felt less hospitable and less welcomed as a guest. The sign on the gate in German stating that only drinks are served with food isn't exactly a welcome – it could certainly be addressed differently. And today, the absolute low point. As always, we walked to the grotto and unfortunately found ourselves in front of a locked gate. Even though Google and the website said it should be open from 12 p.m., we waited in vain for 40 minutes in front of the locked door before heading back. No "closed" sign, no voicemail, no information... and we weren't the only ones; they probably didn't need it.

15/11/2025: It's an authentic place where the welcome and the quality of the meal are exceptional. After a few mixed experiences in Calabria, we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this excellent restaurant.
