07/04/2024: One piece of advice: book in advance. Otherwise interesting architecture to see. In the city center. Superb view with the paid elevator. A word of advice: if you want to go up the elevator and visit the Cinema Museum: book BEFORE you come. When I say before it means at least 1 week before. We were there for several days, it was impossible to get there, everything was full. Only possibility to come at opening 9 a.m. (or a little before) because tours and reservations arrive around 9:30 a.m.!. Otherwise there may be a very long queue. Access included in the Torino Piemonte Card (except the reduced price elevator) BUT if you have space...

05/04/2024: Hidden away but worth the visit. We were very late for our reservation but it wasn't as busy as the cafe upstairs. We ordered the snails, the agnotti pasta and the Rossini and foie gras. The snails were a little salty for our liking but both the pasta and the Rossini were excellent quality. Not the cheapest lunch but the service is good as is the food.
31/03/2024: I found this restaurant (run by chef Stefano Fanti) quite special looking for something of a good standard but not obvious.
I knew that the atmosphere and the place were full of history because it was located in an ancient building on the first floor near the Circolo dei Lettori of Turin.
Unfortunately, many give it a bad review, confusing it with another bistro in the same building.
I then phoned and the chef himself responded, agreeing with my feeling.
The dishes were very interesting, the service was excellent but not intrusive, the place was delicious, the bill was adequate.
Only piece of advice: review the "deconstructed bicerin" which is absolutely not up to the standard of the rest.
I will happily return

07/04/2024: Interesting visit including the armory gallery. The gardens are not really of interest.
07/04/2024: essential. Magnificent museum and very well presented works. We have access to several buildings. Don't miss the library and the armory. It takes at least 2 hours if done quickly. The enclosed garden behind is also very nice (you can access it from the basement) otherwise another garden with free access also accessible from the square. Beautiful collections of paintings, sculptures and astonishing furniture. Magnificent moldings and ceilings.

07/04/2024: Very keen to discover this place but disappointed by the service and the quality of the cuisine below our expectations. Slow service. 30 minutes to serve the appetizer and take the order. Avoid the basement room because the tables are very close to the product shelves and you therefore have customers looking over your table and sometimes disturbing you to take an item. I think eataly located in Lingoto is much better for discovering Italian cuisine.
06/04/2024: Eataly in the center of Turin, to eat, have a coffee, ice cream, or do some shopping. Less well-stocked than the Lingotto one, you can still find the essentials. The extended opening hours are also convenient. In addition to the large café, there is a good restaurant in the basement and, in good weather, it is pleasant to eat in the large outdoor area on via Lagrange

07/04/2024: 3 stars for somewhat trivial reasons. I'll start by saying that I recommend the stop for anyone who wants to fill their stomach, there is certainly variety. However, the central market, see that of Rome, should offer a concentrated experience of traditions typical of the place where it is located. Here, in Turin, there wasn't even a kiosk that offered Turin or Piedmontese food, on the contrary, there were mostly ramen restaurants and Sicilian restaurants, and other generic ones that sold burgers or more popular things. Let's be clear, all good overall rating 7, but I didn't breathe the same air as other central markets I tried... Losing the sense of experience. I just filled the feeling of hunger. Cozy, clean and comfortable place.
06/04/2024: We went for lunch on Easter Monday, it was packed but in the end we found seats within twenty minutes (there were five of us).
We had two mixed grills with baked potatoes and 4 skewers at the restaurant to the left of the Moou ice cream shop and one big cutlet with baked potatoes at the restaurant to the right of the Moou ice cream shop.
Everything was very good, the wait for the dishes was normal (about 15 minutes), the location is nice, spacious, clean/tidy.
To finish we had the ice cream from Gelateria Artigianale Moou, truly excellent (for me the pistachio flavor of this ice cream shop is unmatched but the others are no different either).

Average prices, excellent and plentiful food, fairly quick service.

06/04/2024: We went for lunch on Easter Sunday, there were five of us.
The assigned table was overlooking the Po' river.
The dishes were served quite quickly (it was Easter Sunday anyway, the place was full).
The food is average the prices not really.
I took the squid ink ravioli as a first course (quite good) and as a second course the grilled prawns which I didn't like because the innards had not been removed (I mentioned this to the waiter who apologized and took care to have it removed from the bill ).
For desserts we tried the berry panna cotta and the cream ice cream, both good.
In conclusion: above average prices, average food quality, characteristic location, acceptable service.
PS
In my opinion, on holidays, with the place full, a fixed menu with only one alternative for each dish (first-second course) would be preferable.

07/04/2024: 2 hour wait for 1 starter and 1 second course. They tried to justify it by first saying that the kitchen had made a mistake, then an error in the computer system. On the way out an employee suggested we come back....but not on Saturday as "there is always too much noise"! Good tartare, tuna steak.....dry and overcooked. Good selection of beers
07/04/2024: Excellent raw material cooked very well at an average price.
So many good things to taste that I'll come back to try everything.
Perhaps the only flaw is not enough space to move around but you can't expect more, it's obvious that on a Saturday evening a place with these characteristics will always be full so it's worth the sacrifice to taste excellent Sicilian cuisine.
Maybe I'll try this week.
