21/02/2026: We only used the refuge for lunch, arriving after a walk through the woods from the village of Rore.
The view of the valley is magnificent.
The lunch was very good and the portions were adequate.
08/01/2026: A splendid refuge accessible only on foot (30 minutes from the upper Puy village) with clear signs and a very simple route.
Isolated in nature, it offers a splendid view.
It has four rooms, only one of which has a private bathroom, so choose carefully.
The rooms are spotless, rustic, and well-organized; they do not have a TV.
There is a sauna for relaxation (reservation required).
The kindness and helpfulness of the owners is top-notch.
The rich and delicious menu is worthy of a real restaurant, not a refuge.
The selection of wines and beers is excellent.
In short, a unique place for a truly relaxing stay.
Highly recommended!

21/12/2025: Guys, I want to tell you about "SARVANOT". About twenty years ago, I was given a chocolate and it opened up a whole new world to me! A delight! I can ironically say it was LOVE at first taste, and I can also give you a tip on how to enjoy them: open the wrapper, take the SARVANOT and put it in your mouth, then close your eyes..........all the beautiful things you love will come to mind, your retro-olfactory sense will allow you to capture the finest aromatic nuances as the chocolate melts in your mouth, your palate will crush the chocolate and you will begin to chew and combine flavors and fragrances, creating a deeper experience tied to emotional memory. Try it and believe it! One really nice thing is that the guys at PANETTERIA PASTICCERIA MELLANO are very cheerful.

05/02/2026: Welcoming place, professional, and friendly staff. No architectural barriers. Convenient parking (maximum stay 1 hour); another free parking lot with plenty of spaces is a few steps away. Excellent coffee, and the outdoor seating area is also usable in the winter (on sunny days) thanks to its sheltered location. Excellent!
08/01/2026: As the name suggests, this coffee house is top-notch, the best coffee in Piedmont.

06/01/2026: December, we went to this bar for lunch but despite it being right on time we were told that the kitchen was almost out of everything, we settled for two polentas and a portion of arrosticini (€12 for 6 arrosticini, a steal), the service was practically non-existent and we were given two placemats even though there were three of us, because according to the person who served us with the arrosticini, neither cutlery nor a placemat is expected. The two polentas arrived accompanied by a few pieces of cheese and immediately got cold since it was colder inside the restaurant than outside. You can't improvise as a restaurateur, and when you ask a diner for a certain price, as a customer I expect to receive top-notch service. This service wasn't there, since when we asked for some bread, it wasn't brought because it was out. However, we were served a single sweet roll for three, reheated and burned. I don't recommend this place, not even to Back to the Future fans. Everything is stuck in the '80s, poorly maintained and even poorly managed. Being a restaurateur is an art; they should take better care of their customers.
01/01/2026: Very welcoming place with very kind and hospitable staff. The quality is excellent, and especially the zabaglione is a must-try!

03/01/2026: We came for dinner with the family... the place is mostly a bar/cafe, but we had a great time. We had top-quality polenta and ribs. The welcome and the informal atmosphere were excellent... thanks for the lovely evening.

12/09/2024: Per due giorni di relax abbiamo deciso, dopo averlo scovato sui social questo rifugio. Mai scelta è stata migliore. Il posto è veramente bello, relativamente facile da trovare salendo da Sampeyre. Il personale è professionale, gentile, mai invadente, la strutture è nuova e tenuta veramente bene la posizione invidiabile. La cucina ottima con ricette del territorio ed a km 0. Torneremo.
17/08/2024: Rifugio è un pochino riduttivo, belle camere spaziose, nuove e pulite. Ristorante eccezionale portate abbondant, tutto ottimo, Annalisa in cucina fa tutto lei, i dolci sono indimenticabili.

12/01/2025: Abbiamo soggiornato due notti in questo albergo usufruendo della mezza pensione.
Due camere doppie ed una singola. Già per la mia amica single pagare lo stesso prezzo delle coppie è stata una piacevole sorpresa. La struttura non è moderna, anzi è antica, ma le camere sono spaziose, molto pulite ed hanno tutti i gadget (calza scarpe, ago e filo, ciabatte ecc) che a volte non trovi neppure in alberghi a 4 stelle.
Ma la sorpresa maggiore è stata nella colazione e cena: veramente di qualità superiore grazie alla cucina semplice e casalinga. Ottimo il rapporto personale, penso che torneremo anche in estate. Unica pecca: l'ambiente comune è piccolo.
01/09/2024: Assolutamente da provare la Carne cruda con scaglie di parmigiano. Ristorante pulito, mangiare ottimo, personale molto cortese.

21/08/2024: Pane nella norma. In valle ce ne sono di migliori. In compenso il proprietario è un grandissimo maleducato che pensa che essendo agosto può maltrattare i clienti. Tranquillo che tra meno di un mese a Sampeyre non ci sarà più molta gente che entra nella tua panetteria ed avrai tempo per riflettere su come essere più cordiale.
