12/05/2026: We spent a week last June at the "Le Marmotte" hotel, and even a year later, I still have wonderful memories of it: a gorgeous, quiet place, cozy, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and a varied and delicious breakfast and dinner. Alessandro and his wife are kind and available to help without ever being intrusive. I hope to return. And sorry I only wrote my review today... Best regards to the whole family. Tiziana Valenti

25/02/2026: A simple yet elegant atmosphere with a wonderful fireplace.
The beers were excellent and varied.
We ate some good dishes (salted meat, gnocchi, goulash, and panna cotta) at reasonable prices.
A must-visit if you're in the Maira Valley.

04/04/2026: A rare place! Frozen in time, with its warmth and simple, divine cuisine!!! Today we were lucky enough to find Ula (a typical Piedmontese minestrone), a true delight!

01/04/2026: It was a weekday, with not many people around. In this context, the selection is rightly limited, but of good quality. We had excellent ravioli with homemade ragù, cooked on the stove and served with courtesy. We'll definitely return if we're in the area.

Manuela conjured up exceptional meals for us every day, emphasizing the quality and regional sourcing of ingredients. Renato guided us through breathtakingly beautiful alpine scenery, demonstrating an uncanny knack for finding perfectly creamy, spring-like snow. The entire team at the Locanda Mistral was dedicated to our well-being. If you value nature, tranquility, quality, and relaxing days, this is the place for you.

11/09/2025: Great location, friendly people and excellent accommodation, it couldn't be better!
05/09/2025: Avoid this place if you're looking for more than just a nice room. The staff are unpleasant and completely inattentive. Breakfast is basic, very limited, and the coffee is undrinkable.
Dinner is the same story with the staff's attitude. The portions are ridiculously small and overly salty, and the price is outrageous.

Hats off to the somewhat older couple who run this restaurant so superbly.
02/04/2026: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
The owner, or rather the watchdog, is as unpleasant as a prison gate!
When I called, I wondered if I'd dialed the pizzeria's number or Alcatraz!
If you enjoy being insulted, this is the place to be!
In short, as you can see, the owner would be better off changing careers or selling the business!

10/02/2025: Ottima esperienza, struttura ristrutturata con molta cura,locali accoglienti e ordinati, camere molto belle e curate(tutto inserito in un paesaggio splendido), ottima cucina con ampia selezione di vini. Personale attento e gentile. Fabrizio, il titolare, è disponibile e prodigo di consigli per escursioni nei dintorni.
Un luogo dove tornare!

19/08/2025: €6.40 for two cans of Coke seems excessive to me. This isn't a mountain refuge within walking distance that's difficult for the managers to supply, but a bar that's easily accessible. When they say "we work two months a year," you can't help but be fooled. This doesn't justify the price hike. Remember, second-time customers don't come back.
18/08/2025: We stayed three nights last weekend, the Ferragosto (August 15th) weekend.
Hospitality: Family-run, not their first job, but the staff and owner were very kind, helpful, and welcoming.
Rooms: Renovated and authentic; the ground-floor one was dim, but we liked it. Reclaimed rustic furniture and handcrafted details were used in the renovation.
Breakfast: Savory and sweet, locally sourced options.
Dinner: Excellent, portions just right for a complete dinner including appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert. Polenta evening with various sauces was top!
Location: Excellent for exploring various hiking trails without using the car.
We returned home very satisfied!
P.S.: Our opinion remains unchanged, but I recommend staying no later than 1am for the next Ferragosto (August 15th) celebration (2026). Partying is great, but blasting music until 3:30 was more enjoyable for the valley residents than for their guests.

23/11/2025: Wonderful place if you want to unwind from the chaos of the city. Fantastic hosts. We stayed one night in this fairytale place. The air was clean and the food was exceptional. We'll definitely be back! 🥰
