15/02/2025: Excellent quality food, almost, perhaps, impeccable service, normal prices... tending upwards, unfortunately life is expensive for everyone, even for us customers.
06/02/2025: I love Compitese and have been thinking about trying this restaurant for a long time. We are a bit obsessed with pizza, so we chose a selection of seafood appetizers, excellent and beautiful, and two rather particular pizzas, one with stracciatella and raw prawns, lots of raw prawns, and the other was with Cantabrian anchovies, aubergines and buffalo mozzarella.
The pizza dough is particular, not ultra flattened as is the case in Pontedera, where we live, nor high, it was somewhere in between, crunchy and soft, as we say ALIVE and not killed by presses and rolling pins, but above all the seasoning was exceptional, with the anchovies being really good in terms of flavor and consistency and the other with the raw prawns, nice and firm and tasty. Maybe it was missing a bit of colour, especially the aubergines with anchovies gave it too much grey, which then with the anchovies I would have added a couple of fillets of red peppers, but also for Instagram 🤪jokes aside, really excellent pizzas, overall we liked everything a lot, even the coffee had a cream which is now a rarity. No dessert, it's difficult for us to get to dessert, even if it doesn't look like it physically, I know. Prices seem regular to me, of course there are also very particular things, but the prices are fair. I hope to return soon.

29/06/2024: Bit of a spur of the moment decision as we were "resting up" near Lucca part way through a long bike tour in Italy.
Warmly welcomed and the typical amouse bouches and and a series of highly creative dishes were presented in a timely manner. Chef circulated amongst the diners which eas a nice touch and good for him to see how the food was being received.
An early dish, looked like a jaffa cake, but eas Foie Gras impressed. Yes, we're going to hell, but goodness it was tasty.
We'd opted for the wine pairing which provided a perfect accompaniment.
A superb desert finished off the meal, and they were kind enough to sort us out a taxi after it was all over. Superb.
01/06/2024: L’accoglienza è di livello e allineata alla stella: in attesa del menù vengono servite delle piccole entrée tra cui un sigaro di cioccolato ripieno foie gras eccellente.
Abbiamo provato il menù degustazione di mare di cui vale menzionare la tartare di scampo in caprese con croccante al basilico, il risotto ai tre pomodori con foglia d’oro, la linguina artigianale con calamaretti spillo e burro acido al caviale d’aringa, il morone a lenta cottura con patate di montagna e asparagina.
Più deludente la capasanta con velo di guanciale.
Non banale né scontata la scelta dei vini in abbinamento con etichette Friulane, Bordolesi e della Loira.
Sul finale bella l’idea dell’alberello di ulivo con piccola pasticceria insieme al caffè.
Il rapporto qualità/prezzo c’è, l’attenzione del personale anche, peccato solo per un’attesa decisamente eccessiva tra le entrée e l’arrivo della prima portata.

04/02/2025: I left a piece of my heart in this place. My family and I have been going to eat at Alessandra, the owner, since she was in the old location. We spent all our birthdays, parties and even my graduation here and I can only say that it is a special place with superlative food! The ravioli filled with scallops is highly recommended, in my opinion it is the flagship dish.
01/02/2025: Excellent value for money, you spend the right amount and you eat very well especially the fish, all the staff are very young and friendly guys

We hebben de afgelopen weken 2 x gegeten bij La Cantina di Pinocchio en vonden beide keren het eten van zeer goede kwaliteit. Zowel de zeer malse Tonijn Steak (echt een aanrader) als de pizza’s waren verrassend lekker. En niet te vergeten de deserts! Die waren ook meer dan de moeite waard.
