14/08/2024: We went to dinner early one evening, having a very small daughter; we were curious to try it since the place is spacious and outdoors and therefore also suitable for the little ones. Despite it directly overlooking the Rotonda of Porto d'Ascoli, it was a quiet dinner as it was not yet crowded; the food was a nice discovery, we chose a cold seafood starter, tuna tartare, mixed fried food and a truly delicious and well cooked sea bass fillet. The staff was very kind, the live music was pleasant company (shame about the much louder music from the neighbors). The prices are not cheap but considering the location and the quality fish they are all in all acceptable; perhaps some dishes could have been a little more abundant. However, a nice place and a good showcase for tourists who frequent Porto d'Ascoli!

13/08/2024: I was with them on Saturday 10 August 2024; rather young and capable staff, led however by a rather arrogant and presumptuous owner who, having specifically asked the question of the origin of the water contained in the ambiguous 75 ml jugs of water, first began by claiming that it was microfiltered water trying to sell air to a who unfortunately know nothing about the quality, flavor and consistency of water, to finally reach the conclusion already intuitable from the beginning that the derivation of this water was obviously from the tap and as such free (but not for the customers as they have to pay two euro per jug ​​for a total of 4 euros, amount spent by me and my friend and money practically given away after disputes in which I was treated like an ignorant person by a rather irritating and arrogant person). Let us now move on to the consumption dictated by a painful and tortuous path characterized in the following order: farfalle with swordfish and aubergines extremely behind in cooking (de gustibus non disputandum est but here we are talking about a lack of a good 5 minutes) whose solution was expertly (ironically of course) found by adding cold water and then sautéing the pasta in the pan (the cold water blocks the cooking and what is obtained is simply a rather bland and tasteless pasta as later occurred, with tremendous suspicion that the the ingredients mentioned above were frozen since I analyzed the dish rather deeply and the swordfish, in addition to being rather cumbersome, was also cold inside, and with this we are at two rather inflated profits aimed at the unfortunate person at the expense of quality and price) errare umanum est, perseverare diabulicum est); in addition to these malicious "mistakes", the bread was rather stale as it was hard and inedible (certainly not fresh and bought in the morning but I would opt for a time frame of at least one day and twelve hours); the calamari or rather the "frying" was poor and cold, and was rubbery; the coffee was quite drinkable but definitely too long; therefore, as regards water and ingredients of dubious taste, it is clear that a case of "vacatio legis" is used to guarantee the quality and correctness of both ingredients and products, thus arbitrating in an idiomatic manner; food eidetism finds justice and also taste in the department dedicated to desserts which instead found a pleasant response with my palate as the panna cotta made by them was rather edible and pleasant but which in any case does not justify the price which amounts to a total 24 euros as menu of the day; last but not least, looking towards the upper part of the restaurant while having lunch outside, you can notice three rather rusty music players of dubious safety, which certainly do not improve the soul of the place; I'm very sorry because it overlooks the sea, but considering the unfolding of events, its modus operandi seems surreal. Edit: Sisi Dear ok, you would probably do a false job to spout such bullshit; good evening eh (my review is absolutely true, but I don't waste time with those who lie to themselves)👍🏽 Edit the low IQ demonstrated in the above question and the lack of transparency (you like making people pay for free water huh🥱?) made me give up, you two-bit thief. if that bread was fresh then I won't even express myself, because if you already lie about something as obvious as the hardness of your raw material then it's useless, it's like arguing with a donkey; dishonest, arrogant, liar and mean; but from someone who acts arrogant because he thinks he can sell his mediocrity at face value I can't expect anything else; petty to the point of using other numbers to justify the blame 👍🏽 what a shame 👍🏽

26/08/2024: small, dimly lit restaurant, we immediately ordered a mussel pepper (very good and plentiful) and a first course for two people, then we wanted to try a mixed fry but I was told that the kitchen was already closed (at 10.00 pm a kitchen closes in a seaside area......never seen) normal portions, (certainly not abundant as some reviewers write) however an experience not to be repeated....I was very disappointed.....

27/08/2024: The chalet offers an elegant yet informal location. The search for the quality of raw materials can be seen in the details. The vegetables are 0 km from the local farmer, the catch is fresh and retains the flavor of the sea. The coffee accompanied by delicious biscuits was a welcome treat. The bill was adequate for the quality we found.

13/07/2024: A real gem of a restaurant that seems like a secret find. I had eaten here in 2007 and remembered having an amazing meal. Returning to Ascoli Piceno at the end of June, I was determined to revisit Del Corso and was not disappointed. The restaurant is located in an untouristed part of Ascoli, which gives it part of its special feel. After so many meals of meat, it was a pleasure to be in a restaurant specializing in fish. We enjoyed a delicious pasta with fish followed by an expertly prepared fritti misti and then fish fillets done in a perfectly favored lemon sauce which we soaked up every bit with lots of bread (and accompanied by a perfectly dressed simple salad as well). Lemon sorbet made for a perfect ending, especially given the heat and humidity. We were thoroughly charmed by the owner/chef, Piera, and her daughter, who served us quietly and professionally with the right amount of humor since our Italian is so bad. With our broken Italian, we had quite the conversation after the restaurant closed. We only wish we would have the opportunity to visit this jewel more often than once every decade or so. Bravo!

22/05/2024: We were there yesterday for lunch. Excellent restaurant in the center of Ascoli but off the tourist routes. Fresh and well cooked fish, the mixed fry is unmissable. Impeccable service.

28/08/2024: Ottima location sul mare, perfetta per una cena con qualcosa in più rispetto ai soliti ristoranti che si trovano in zona. Menù ricercato, ma anche proposte di pesce classiche, pinsa e deliziosi dessert. Servizio ottimo. A mio avviso in un locale del genere eviterei però la musica dal vivo che è iniziata a metà serata, sarebbe già perfetto il sottofondo di musica lounge.

18/08/2024: Cupra Marittima, unlike nearby Grottammare, is an ancient family-friendly marine center in the Adriatic Marche. Il Gabbiano is a family-run beach establishment with an adjoining restaurant masterfully directed by Mr. Pietro. the collaborators are very young and very kind, the prices of all services are more than modest. But what is striking is the level of professionalism and seriousness that the team as a whole expresses. we often talk, with nostalgic emphasis, about the foods of the past, the objects of the past, the behaviors of the past... here is Mr. Il Gabbiano establishment. Pietro is a one-time business that creates wealth and at the same time is useful to the community.

18/08/2024: I went on a SATURDAY evening with my friends (there were about 25 of us) to have a drink. We arrived around 00:30 and the waiter was a bit insistent, constantly asking us what we wanted to order because after a short while they wanted to close the place. Even though we hadn't all arrived, he wanted to take the order immediately, I think to speed up everything. We didn't have the chance to wait for the other people due to the rush they imposed on us. He told us over and over that we had until 1:30 to consume our drinks (I'll start by saying that we were waiting for other people, it would only be money for them). I don't know if the owner was present but I highly doubt it given their pressing behavior to send us away as soon as possible. It's not the first time I've come to this place and this has often happened. I don't recommend it if you want to sit and have a drink in peace, because even if you go at 11pm they'll already start chasing you away. I won't be returning.

18/08/2024: The environment COULD be very functional and here is my ONLY positive note. Let me start by saying that I don't usually write negative reviews. If I'm not satisfied with a place and/or a service, I prefer not to return again and avoid controversy. Except in this case, I came with a few friends after dinner for a drink. More than the drink (made not well at all and left completely full by me) I want to focus on the service. As soon as we arrived we were "welcomed" with an annoyed look, we were seated and we were warned several times that they would close shortly thereafter. After several annoyed looks and after several invitations to look at the clock (1:00 on a Saturday evening in the middle of August) we got up. Shortly after leaving the place we saw that there were 2 girls at the counter, was it closing time or was it time to remove the disturbance? I don't recommend it for an after dinner drink, I won't be back. I'm sorry but education makes the difference.
