11/09/2025: We had an unforgettable dining experience at Ristorante Il Ciliegio 5Terre! The restaurant is located on a hilltop, offering beautiful scenery and a perfect spot to enjoy the sunset if you’re lucky.
The food was outstanding — we had the mixed grilled seafood and meat, squid ink gnocchi, and seafood pasta. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
The service was excellent too. Our waiter (Sky) was engaging and attentive, making us feel very welcome. The owner went above and beyond by personally driving us to and from the island center, which made the whole experience even more special.
Between the stunning views, warm hospitality, and top-quality dishes, this restaurant is a true gem in Cinque Terre. Highly recommended!
10/09/2025: Highly recommended if you are in Cinque Terre Monterosso. Definitely the best meal I’ve had in the area and probably the best that I have had on my trip to Italy. Many of the restaurants in old town were decent, but did not compare in quality and taste to Ristorante II Ciliego 5 Terre. The seafood pasta was amazing. All ingredients are local and the pasta is made in house.
Get the cheesecake for dessert. The service from our waiter, Sky, was also awesome. Also- plenty of parking. Don’t skip this restaurant!!

14/09/2025: On this trip, we have been to so many restaurants from Amsterdam to Cologne to Strassbourg, to Zermatt to Milan to Como and lastly to here in Cinque Terre in Monterosso specifically and I can’t say enough about the food and service in this restaurant! We enjoyed our squid ink pasta with shrimp and the best tiramisu ever! A must in Cinque Terre!
13/09/2025: The food wasn't bad, and the service was good until I left when I realized I'd left a very important piece of jewelry on the table. I had no doubts. The restaurant's phone doesn't work, so even though I tried like crazy to get in touch, I couldn't. And when I did get through to the waiter, he told me they couldn't find anything, and I'm sorry, but that's not true.
The experience at this restaurant truly ruined my experience in the Cinque Terre.
Being left with an item left on the table because a customer feels ill is the most despicable thing that has ever happened to me.
I also called more than 20 times, and no one answered. The waiter only replied via WhatsApp saying he had accepted my contact…
I think there are many better and more trustworthy places to eat.

21/09/2025: Poor appetizer = avocado/shrimp salad with 2 jarred shrimp. First course: Monterossina with salted anchovies = spaghetti with anchovy paste and jarred olives. Baked sea bream fillet = frozen sea bream fillet. The only adequate dish was the Monterossina dessert, but I'd avoid the whipped cream. Conclusion: excellent location, disorganized service, poor food quality (supermarket-quality), inappropriate/high prices.
17/09/2025: We stopped in for a dinner while in Monterosso. They seated us without a reservation outside with a beautiful view. The food was delicious, sea bream , pesto pasta and lemon fish, all excellent. However our server, Innaury, made the meal outstanding. He was so attentive and worked thru our questions, all with a smile. Very rare to find someone who is willing to go the extra mile to help others have a good time. Well done Innaury!! Highly recommend this restaurant.

03/08/2025: Pedí los espaguetis de marisco e IT fue fácilmente lo mejor que he comido durante todo el viaje. La salsa era exquisita - picante y lleno de almejas, langoustine y gambas con tomates cherry. La pasta también estaba fresca y cocinada a la perfección. Delicioso, de verdad. Ojalá hubiera descubierto el restaurante antes, para poder volver más veces. No puedo recomendar IT suficiente.
27/07/2025: Gran pequeño restaurante en el corazón del casco antiguo de Monterosso, que sirve pasta casera, mariscos frescos y una gran selección de pizzas. Todo estaba delicioso.

05/09/2025: Gluten free options. Limited menu but The food was very tasty well presented and the staff were lovely. Very relaxed and we were not rushed off the table. Down a little side street and a great accidental find. We were lucky to get a table outside before it filled up

21/09/2025: Top restaurant, warm welcome, the dishes are excellent, the gnocchi and pasta are pure delight, I highly recommend it.
05/09/2025: We only ordered seafood pasta, which was generous and filling but super salty. The seafood inside was also frozen, very small and very salty. 😅 p.s. The vinegar and appetizer bread were quite delicious... but it's better than nothing... 25 euros per person

08/10/2025: Food was great. Not sure what some other reviewers were experiencing, but I would return here any time. Don't come looking for michelin star wait staff, that's not what this place is about. If i am in the area again I would definitely come back.

14/09/2025: There was no one there even though the other restaurants were full, I understand why...
The staff was unfriendly, no sense of hospitality. Every interaction was unpleasant.
The food arrived after about a 15-minute wait (which was fine). The spaghetti (not homemade) was still crunchy and undercooked. The response was, "In Italy, they eat it like this, you'll eat it like this." In short, no customer service. Poor, industrial spaghetti with no sauce, no flavor, and almost a third of it was empty shells for €20 per person.
The other reviews don't lie; these are miniature portions... No one left satisfied.

03/05/2025: Ottima pizza, ottimo locale e ottimo servizio. Ho trovato i colori stupendi dell’interno del locale, il personale molto cordiale e gentile. Se passo da Monterosso tornerò a mangiare qui.
28/04/2025: Perfetto per una serata informale in un locale gradevolissimo. Cucina con chef eccellente e personale gentilissimo e simpatico. Cibo ottimo.

26/07/2025: Ristorante pizzeria in una via un po fuori dal centro di monterosso con un menù a base di pesce e qualche altro piatto ed è pure pizzeria.
Ho mangiato una insalata di polipo eccezionale gustosa e abbondante accompagnata da una vellutata di patate buonissima.
Poi trofie con pesto e patate veramente buone.
Peccato per le cozze ripiene da cui mi aspettavo di più in quanto si sentiva solo il ripieno molto abbondante e le cozze così sono sparite. Peccato perché avrei dato volentieri il punteggio più alto

14/05/2025: Normalerweise bewerte ich nur Restaurants in denen wir gute Erfahrungen gemacht haben, um die Leistung von Küche und Service wertzuschätzen. In diesem Fall muss ich leider eine Ausnahme machen, weil es bisher die schlechteste Erfahrung gewesen ist, die wir je gemacht haben.
Monterosso ist natürlich ein Ort, in dem viele Touristen unterwegs sind und einen freien Tisch zum Essen suchen, deshalb scheint sich das Personal und ebenso die Küche nicht um einen Gast zu bemühen, auf Stammgäste ist das Konzept ja auch nicht ausgelegt und die Trinkgelder sind auch gesichert, da sie gleich mit auf der Rechnung stehen, wir aber gerne bei gutem Essen und freundlichem Personal noch zusätzlich Trinkgeld geben. Der Kellner wirkte völlig lustlos, hat uns mit einer Geste einen Tisch zugewiesen, auf unsere Begrüßung gar nicht reagiert. Auf eine freundliche Bitte, uns Salz zu bringen, wurde zwar signalisiert, dass man es uns bringt, das war es dann aber leider auch. Mein Mann ist nach 10 Minuten selbst nach drinnen ins Lokal gegangen und hat eine Kellnerin um Salz gebeten, die ihm einen Salzstreuer gegeben hat, da war das geschmacklose Tagliata Manzone leider schon kalt, schade.
23/02/2025: Tres déçu repas composée de fruits de mers congelés , accueil austère , mauvaise ambiance , tarifs pas adéquation avec la qualité ! Je ne renouvelerai pas l'expérience
