13/09/2025: An authentic and unforgettable Tuscan experience During our stay at the wonderful Relais Palazzo del Capitano, we dined several times at Trattoria Toscana al Vecchio Forno: a true gem in the heart of San Quirico d'Orcia. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and perfectly in tune with the medieval charm of the village. The outdoor garden is simply enchanting, perfect for a romantic dinner. The food? Extraordinary. From the handmade pasta, to the delicate and flavorful main courses, to the desserts that seem to have come straight from a family recipe book. Each dish is prepared with the freshest ingredients and with a care that is evident at first bite. All accompanied by an extensive wine list, featuring select local labels. The service was impeccable: courteous, attentive, and always smiling. You can sense the love for the region and the authentic hospitality. Being guests at Relais Palazzo del Capitano made everything even more special: it was like living, for a few days, in a Tuscan dream. The experience is complete, harmonious, and profoundly authentic. Highly recommended, both for those seeking authentic Tuscan cuisine and for those who wish to experience the soul of this extraordinary place. We will definitely be back.

The atmosphere is refined but not ostentatious, warm and welcoming, with a garden that seems straight out of a Tuscan postcard. It's the perfect place for those seeking a relaxing evening, immersed in the beauty of the village and surrounded by inviting aromas. The cuisine is a celebration of tradition, yet with a touch of elegance. Handmade pasta, local and seasonal ingredients, dishes tastefully presented and, above all, flavorful and well-balanced. The main courses are surprising in their delicacy and intensity, while the desserts make you want to order another one right away. The service is attentive, friendly, and never intrusive. You can clearly sense the passion of those who work here, and their desire to offer not just a meal, but a memorable experience. The wine list is extensive, with many beautiful Tuscan labels, including carefully selected wines by the glass. A must-have for anyone visiting the Val d'Orcia and wanting to enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine in an authentic and refined setting. 14/09/2025: Great place for lunch. We had pasta and eggplant. Food was great. Also we had a problem with our car and the staff helped us with the problem. Big thanks to Mateo! He was very kind with us. The atmosphere was peaceful and nice. I recommend stopping by this restaurant if you pass by San Quirico d'Orcia.

14/09/2025: My partner and I had a problem with our rental car, and our car broke down right next to this restaurant. Mateo was very helpful. He told us where they sold oil and also gave us his phone number in case our car wouldn't start. We were very grateful for the service. I ordered the parmiggiana, which was delicious, and I recommend it! Thank you, thank you!

19/08/2025: Beautiful location, friendly service, and good food. We ordered a Pienza pecorino cheese tartlet as an appetizer, pici all'aglione, tagliatelle with egg cream and truffle, a glass of Vermentino, and water. We spent a total of €75. Each dish was between €20 and €24 (including the appetizer). The prices I saw online weren't up to date. I can say that, after spending almost a week in the Val d'Orcia and trying several restaurants between Pienza and Montepulciano, the prices seemed rather high for what was offered. The food was good, but we've had much better at several other places where the same entrees cost around €12. At this restaurant, the cost is almost entirely due to the location (practically across the street from the wonderful Bagno Vignoni spring) and the table service (absolutely impeccable). The food is rather average; I expected better.

19/08/2025: Very nice place to chill and enjoy the views. Had a nice truffle pasta and a fairly decent vermentino , their house salad was not to our taste.
