23/06/2025: The very kind and knowledgeable owner made us taste several particular wines, pairing them with samples of local cheeses and cured meats, other delicacies including the best arancino with ragù ever tasted. The environment is very well-kept and welcoming. A special evening away from the tourist racket, a place not to be missed

19/06/2025: A real gem in the heart of Piazza Armerina! A welcoming trattoria, with attention to detail and an authentic atmosphere. The cuisine is top-notch, with dishes prepared with local ingredients and an excellent local organic oil that enhances every flavor. The house appetizer is simply amazing, a rich and tasty selection. The first courses were a real discovery: full flavors, tradition and technique perfectly balanced. The oven-roasted lamb, tender and fragrant, was cooked to perfection. To top it off, a cannoli filled on the spot... fresh, crunchy, unforgettable! Highly recommended for those looking for a true Sicilian gastronomic experience.

03/07/2025: A very pretty and fresh restaurant with a tablecloth. The food is good but heavily portioned. We ordered a grilled meat platter, which was quite poor, as were the salads. The spaghetti alla marinière was good but somewhat exorbitantly priced. You basically pay for the service and the tablecloth; the portions could be more generous. Overall, we liked it, although it was a bit pricey for the price.

17/06/2025: È un posto dove è necessario fermarsi senza fretta. Dove è giusto concedersi il giusto tempo e provare più di qualche piatto e lasciarsi consigliare. Trovato casualmente e felicemente. I ragazzi sono disinvolti e sicuri in quello che fanno. I piatti semplici, con prodotti locali. Il menù è dettato a voce (era Pasqua e forse era per la giornata ma spero che sia sempre così) e questo per me è stato un elemento di gioia, perché mi ha portato a quelle trattorie di una volta dove trovi pochi piatti ma con prodotti freschi e di giornata. Si riforniscono in zona, un plauso al pane di casa. Personalmente ho apprezzato immensamente la minestra di spaghetti spezzati, con verdure, pomodoro, salsiccia e mollica atturrata. Una coccola che dovete concedervi. Non rilascio mai recensioni, ma quando ho il tempo di sedermi in un posto accogliente che mi infonde serenità, dove trovo professionisti coraggiosi e felici di quello che fanno, e lo fanno bene, dove entro e vengo avvolto dalla voglia di mangiare, allora sono nel posto giusto e ringrazio questa famiglia che offre gioia, calore e piacere della buona tavola. 13/10/2024: Everything about this small terrace restaurant is fantastic! It is located in the old town, the table service is fantastic being provided by the owner her self ( very polite and professional and also very friendly and chatty) but the food is hard to describe how delicious it is! The sea food pasta and the carbonara pasta is just perfect! The grilled pork and salciccia perfectly cooked! I don't wanna start with the caponata! Fresh veggies freshly cooked! Mumm is the best chef in town! It's a family business! And they do it well!

24/05/2025: Consigliatoci dalla struttura dove alloggiavamo, questo luogo è ideale per potere fermarsi e mangiare in serenità. L'accoglienza della titolare (e del cuoco) amichevole, il locale è arredato come nell'antica tradizione dei piccoli centri, e con 'ottima scelta di non mettere una televisione in sala che distrae dalla conviviali. Un ottima e soffusa musica accoglie il viandante che si ferma a mangiare. La scelta del menù è ampia e soddisfa tutte le esigenze. Piatti classici come il passato di fave "macco", ed antipasti ricchi e saporiti della cucina tradizionale. Ottimi i primi e succulenti i secondi. Cortesia e qualità. Da non sottovalutare finalmente un tovagliato che non è fatto di carta, per risparmiare. Il prezzo invita a ritornare sicuramente, ma non è questo il motivo, è la bontà delle pietanze e la cortesia con cui si viene accolti. é in centro, ed il parcheggio è facile da trovare.

18/06/2025: Really good food! Special requests are happily accommodated (vegetarian antipasti). I was also served a regional pasta dish upon request. Delicious! For dessert, there were ravioli fritti con ricotta e pistacchio. Outstanding! The attentive, friendly service from all the staff is also worth mentioning!

23/05/2025: Awful attitude by head waiter. He forced ZBruschetta on us though we had no intention of ordering it. He derided us for eating the bread rolls when these were served in the table. Our main dishes did not come out together, but over a period of 15 minutes. Some of my party had nearly finished before I got my plate !

22/05/2025: Unacceptable Treatment at Da Carlo — A Humiliating Experience I rarely write reviews, but what happened at Da Carlo left me no choice. We arrived as a group of 11 and were seated promptly. We received the menus and asked for some water. Shortly after, we were offered bruschetta. We politely declined, wanting to look through the menu first. A second waiter came to offer it again, and we declined once more. Then what appeared to be the manager or owner approached us. For the third time, he insisted on the bruschetta. When we declined yet again, he turned to me and sarcastically said, “Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay,” and proceeded to ask me how many pieces of bread I had eaten so far — a completely inappropriate and humiliating question, especially in front of others. As we tried to place our food orders, things only got worse. We asked for pasta with vongole (clams) and another with cozze (mussels). He refused to take the order as requested, and instead shouted that he would make a mix of both, and that we could just give the parts we didn’t want to someone else at the table. The tone was aggressive, loud, and deeply disrespectful. At that point, I had enough. I have never been treated so rudely in any restaurant in my life. I felt bullied, embarrassed, and completely disrespected — especially in front of other diners who turned to look. I made the decision to leave. Dining out is supposed to be a pleasant experience — not one where you’re shouted at, belittled, or pressured into eating something you don’t want. Da Carlo not only failed in service, but in basic human decency.
