03/12/2024: In tutti i posti in cui ho mangiato a CAgliari in questi 10 anni questo è stato il migliore; antipasti gustosissimi, primi eccezionali, personale gentilissimo e prezzi convenientissimi.

27/11/2024: No restaurant is ever perfect! But the La Taverna di Castello restaurant in via Barcellona in Cagliari, among the many that I have tried in the surrounding streets, comes very close, indeed very close to perfection!! Starting from the appetizers, to the first and second seafood courses, nothing is left to chance. Succulent and abundant portions, with the possibility of eating either inside the restaurant in a rustic and well-kept environment, or outside where, with the temperatures still warm this autumn, it is still pleasant to stay outdoors. The owner is very hospitable, professional and at the same time very attentive to the customer's needs. Imagine that, while waiting for our table to be free for dinner, he joined us with a nice prosecco to make the passing of time less burdensome. Location, food, service, hospitality at the top! 09/12/2024: Quality restaurant in every sense. Friendly, professional, never intrusive staff. The menu is mostly fresh fish, which can be ordered either raw or grilled. Then a series of appetizers and first courses. Side dishes and desserts based on what the chef prepares. We ordered a vegetable tart on a bed of Parmesan cream. Truffle tagliatelle, fregola with seafood, and grilled tuna steak. Side dish: roast potatoes and vegetables prepared in oil by them. For dessert I had a chocolate cake, but there was also a pardula cream, a pear millefeuille with fili and ferru von crema. Obviously the coffee to drink is a white Vermentino. Everything fresh and tasty. Cozy and very clean toilet

20/02/2025: Cold meals, very long waiting times. Rude and inefficient staff. Rental furnished with chairs that dismantle as soon as you sit down. Menu: intestine braid with urine-scented peas. Cold caponata ox tongue... no comment. Never again!

03/03/2025: Non sono solito lasciare recensioni dei locali dove mi ritrovo come avventore, ma in questo caso devo fare eccezione. Da anni frequento Pirani di via Sulis avvolte per un semplice caffè, talvolta per mangiare e molto spesso per bere un drink e devo dire che per i miei gusti tra le offerte che la città di Cagliari propone in tal senso lo reputo tra i migliori. Il personale fa la differenza… gentilezza , cortesia e garbo sono di casa e che dire il responsabile di sala Alessio, un professionista eccellente, sempre attento alle esigenze del cliente ma sempre con riservatezza e garbo un vero padrone di casa. Ciò che descrivo non è una sviolinata retorica ma un riconoscimento dovuto a dei professionisti di livello in un settore dove purtroppo non sempre l’accoglienza è di casa. Grazie.

23/02/2025: Eredità il nome importante e la bella location. Le tende esterne con il logo Pirani sono sporchissime, abbiamo preso due caffè e 4 zeppole appena fritte, consigliate dal cameriere. Credo di non aver mai mangiato un fritto così stra-unto di olio… ogni zeppola è costata la modica cifra di €2,20 per un totale di €13,50. Traete ora le conclusioni….

01/03/2025: Tante buone recensioni, ma cucina tradizionale, quantità un po ridotta degli antipasti seviti a temperatura inadeguata e di qualità normale , non siamo stati male ma ci aspettavamo di più, prezzo e aspettative elevate ma un ristorante normale , che non ha rispettato kexasoettative. Ormonale gentile e attento .ma zuppetta di cozze fredde e secche con poco sapore , antipasti mediocri non hanno aiutato nel alzare il livello della qualità.

18/02/2025: Generalmente mi reco in questo ristorante cagliaritano almeno una volta all'anno e d il servizio risulta sempre impeccabile. Il pesce è sempre gustosissimo (oltrechè fresco ) e mi lascio consigliare dai simpaticissimi proprietari. primi abbondanti a prezzi onesti. Antipasti tutti di mare nella migliore tradizione isolana. Consigliatissimo

26/01/2025: On Saturday 25 January, just before midnight, I was with a group of friends and we joined two of our acquaintances who were already sitting at the tables outside. We asked the waiter on duty, a man in his forties, if it was possible to join two tables so we could all be together, specifying that two people were about to leave. His response was rude: he said that those people had to leave immediately to "avoid bothering him". I find this attitude completely out of place: it's not his job to decide when customers have to get up, especially if they were still consuming. Subsequently, a friend of mine sat down for a moment on a sofa next to our friend and another girl, just enough time to organize ourselves. At that point the waiter, again with an unpleasant and unprofessional manner, turned to her saying that he couldn't stay there because "it was annoying" and that "we are not in the little square". As if that wasn't enough, he also put his hand on her shoulder trying to get her to stand up. She very calmly explained to him that it was just a moment, but he continued with the same unpleasant attitude. Eventually, we got up and left, outraged at how we were treated. It is not acceptable for anyone who works in a restaurant to behave in such a rude manner. Because of this behavior, the place lost 10 customers that evening.

23/01/2025: Dopo qualche tempo sono andata nuovamente al tropical per il battesimo di mio nipotino. Che dire super accoglienza. Aperitivo buonissimo. Cena squisita. Grande varietà di antipasti, primi , secondi, amari e caffè. Bellissimo il tavolo apparecchiato e anche quello delle bomboniere. Signor Giuliano e la moglie sempre super gentili e accoglienti. Le ragazze che hanno servito al tavolo impeccabili, super attente e gentilissime. Anche questa volta il mio voto è 10.

29/09/2024: I would strongly advise against dining here if you're even remotely considering it. While the food is passable, though leaning heavily on the salty side, the portion sizes are laughably small, particularly for the main courses, making sharing virtually impossible. To make matters worse, two of the meat dishes were unavailable, leaving us with little choice but to settle for vegetarian or seafood options. The menu inside the restaurant was also drastically different from what was advertised outside and the outdated Google images added to the misleading experience. We contemplated walking out but felt awkward after they'd already served us water. What truly soured the experience, however, was the service. One server in particular, a rather unremarkable waitress with brown glasses, demonstrated a profound lack of professionalism, a trait you would think is basic in the hospitality industry. Her demeanor was standoffish, and it seemed her priority was to gossip with her colleagues behind the bar rather than provide decent service. Her colleagues, to their credit, were much more competent and pleasant—one from Tunisia, in particular, went out of her way to ensure a comfortable experience, even when dealing with the cramped table space. When it came time to settle the bill, the waitress with brown glasses addressed my partner instead of me, and even after being directed to me, continued to engage with others at the table rather than the person actually paying. She avoided eye contact with me entirely, which felt deliberately rude. I’ve never encountered such disrespect as a paying customer, and my family shared the same sentiment. It took everything in me not to call her out publicly for her unprofessional behavior. If customer service is too much to ask of her, she may want to reconsider her career path. I wouldn’t dream of recommending this place to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning ever, props to that waitress.

14/09/2024: Nice atmosphere and relaxed music. The main dishes were tasty but small, the zuchini starter was uninspired and not worth it. The glass of wine for 7€ was only a quarter of a glass full. All in all slightly overrated

10/01/2025: As a Cagliari native, I say that it is our point of reference despite the wide range of restaurants and restaurants in the city (be careful that many overly "touristy" restaurants and trattorias deceptively offer things like Argentinian prawns instead of Mediterranean red......) . I can say that to our taste it is a safe haven, consistency of quality and truly excellent price/food ratio. We happened to ask for off-menu items for special occasions....unbeatable even on non-standard items.

23/12/2024: Di questo ristorante non si può certo parlar male. A parte il tentativo di venderci qualche antipasto in più di quanto fosse sufficiente (volevamo 2 antipasti misti di mare -ciascuno per minimo due persone- in sei e il gestore continuava a insistere per portarcene 3), il resto è filato tutto liscio. I misti di mare erano buoni (ben cotto il polpo con patate anche se con un goccio di aceto in eccesso, ottimo il tonno con la cipolla cruda, le cozze, in bianco, buone, i moscardini niente di speciale), sui piatti principali, invece, c’è stata qualche sbavatura. Il tonno alla griglia con carciofi crudi sopra era evidentemente troppo cotto - forse perché la fetta di tonno era troppo sottile -, il calamaro grigliato, buono, e’ arrivato nel piatto solo soletto e la spigola in umido ben eseguita ma le mancava la spinta di sapore. I raviolini fritti erano ottimi, buona anche la seadas. Carta dei vini nella media come disponibilità, forse leggermente eccessivi i ricarichi. Prezzo a testa € 56,00.

06/01/2025: Fanà is a certainty. Excellent cuisine, especially the appetizers, the fresh pasta first courses... then the desserts. Luisa, with her kind and professional ways, offers you a welcome that, unfortunately, is difficult to find in local places.
