30/03/2026: A truly positive experience! I booked lunch at the Locanda to celebrate my mother's birthday. The dining room we ate in is beautiful, and the food was excellent. The atmosphere is very friendly, and both owners are incredibly kind. We even talked about punk rock music... what more could you ask for? :)
I'd love to come back to sleep there and enjoy breakfast in that beautiful location!
25/03/2026: We went to this lovely place for lunch on Sunday. The food was excellent, made with top-quality ingredients. The dishes, both in their presentation and taste, convey a sense of lovingly prepared cuisine. The dining room is very welcoming, with beautiful books on display.
We hope to return again sometime in the future.

23/12/2025: Food is good but arrogance of the staff is astounding. I even took the time to read other reviews on here and so many people commented on the rudeness of the staff. The worst part is, the restaurant owner, or whoever it is, replies to all the comments, but NOT to apologize, but rather to say that they do not care or that the customer is wrong. I suggest you look yourselves in the mirror. People come to restaurants for a good time and atmosphere, not just for food. Absolutely ridiculous ego.
24/09/2025: This is the kind of mom and pop Italian restaurants I crave for in my dream and is disappearing fast after the pandemic. I am truly blessed to have find it in Trieste thanks to next door restaurant that turned us away. I ate here two night straight! If you are here during porcini season, don’t miss out their tagliatelle with porcini. The fusi with black truffle is fantastic and the price more than reasonable. The entrees are expertly cooked, no fuss but every seasoning is to the point without overpowering the ingredients’ fresh and savory character. A gem if you long for nonna’s cooking.
