06/07/2025: The Al Verde hotel restaurant is located about 10 minutes from the Mandello lakeside. On the hill, in the cool, and truly immersed in nature. Very rustic hotel, well-kept, clean and well-furnished. Very beautiful are those many small details scattered here and there. Convenient parking for cars and motorbikes, play area, abundant and quality breakfast. The rooms are spacious with a view of sure effect. Satisfactory quality/price ratio. Promoted !!

27/06/2025: Of course you will find the translation of your review in Dutch here. This hotel is so bad and with such grumpy staff that it looks more like a camp than a hospitable hotel. I had forgotten my e-reader and asked if they could send it to me via DHL. That's where the problems started. After I had responded several times, I was told that it was not possible. I was told that I had to have a company account or arrange a pick-over. The costs: at least 100 euros. My next suggestion (it is a small package, so it can go in a letterbox): put it in an envelope, write the address and send it. After asking for an answer several times: no, that was not possible because the post office was too far away and the opening hours were not good for them. I had emailed him that the post office was 5 km away and was open every morning. However, that was not possible because the staff could not do that. How much worse can the situation get?! The end result was: you have to have it sent by a courier, otherwise you come and pick it up when you get back. I was told that every customer who forgets something, has a courier come to pick it up (we live in the Netherlands, so we don't 'regularly' go there). They refused to send it. If they had told me straight away, we wouldn't have had to email us with all this annoyance. Also the hotel, if you can call it that, was more of a punishment than a pleasure for me, it was not hospitable, it was awful, the rooms were bad, the bathroom stank, the air conditioning made a hellish noise, it sounded like you had a wind force 10. The breakfast was also not a party: the bread was gone, so we got an old baguette, no more cold cuts, the tea was cold, etc. The wine was disgusting and also the chips in the bag were stale and dirty. The accessible quality was a life-threatening due to the narrow, steep, turned path that led down. You absolutely don't have to meet anyone. It wasn't a party, but more of a punishment.

09/06/2025: restaurant with very high potential, unfortunately the service leaves much to be desired, unlike the food, in particular mussels or risotto with perch which are exceptional.

04/06/2025: Solid, classic lunch menu. Pizza is only available in the evening.

10/06/2025: Fantastic little refuge, as soon as I got there the first feeling was I was totally relaxed, out of this world, I didn't want to go home anymore, doing 1100m of altitude difference is really worth it. The food is great, I had pizzoccheri and apple pie made by Elena, she is a fantastic cook, thank you so much.

23/05/2025: Stiamo stati per un pranzo di compleanno. Per arrivare al rifugio, mettetevi scarpe comodo perché dovrete caminare 10 mn in salita. Il ristorante serve cibo tipico con una bellissima vista sul lago di Como, taglieri, primi... Consigliato per una gita fuori Milano.

13/04/2025: Dieci minuti di piacevolissima passeggiata ti permettono di arrivare davvero in paradiso. Appartamentini curati, puliti e provvisti di tutto ciò che serve. All'esterno ti aspetta un giardino splendido, con un panorama spettacolare sul lago. Colazione abbondante, sia quella consumata all'agriturismo, sia quella fornita nel simpatico cestino da viaggio. C'ero già stata anni fa, sono tornata e, certo, tornerò ancora!

19/06/2025: Terrible hotel. Hygiene zero. I ate the night before. A straw fell and I found it the next morning at breakfast. They don't make the beds from one day to the next, rudeness of the staff including the owner. If I had to give stars, one is too many. For what you spend, the service is not adequate

11/06/2025: The restaurant is currently closed. As for the hotel, it would be URGENT to proceed with a complete cleaning to avoid catching Legionnaires' disease... The radiator is full of dust, as are the bed bases, which indicates zero hygiene.
