07/04/2026: A restaurant that has very little of the grotto feel, starting with the dishes and everything else.
I'll start with the positives: the staff is very fast and all the waiters are extremely courteous. The view is truly beautiful. From the elevated position, you can see the lake. The terrace is spacious and they allow you to eat outside as soon as the temperatures are acceptable, which isn't always a given.
The prices are fair and the menu is varied.
We only tried the pizza, which, honestly, I didn't like. I found it bland; the tomato and mozzarella weren't anything special, but the oregano was delicious.
I've certainly had worse, but also better. I'd recommend trying the rest of the menu; some dishes looked inviting.
Prices are in CHF, but if you pay by card, the charge is in euros, obviously with an exchange rate markup.
The clientele is made up of many smokers, who, oblivious to the tables next to them, light up one cigarette after another.
I understand that it's outside, but given the space, maybe they could set aside one area for smokers and another for children or non-smokers.

12/03/2026: Truly huge but delicious pizzas, thin yet soft. We ordered five platters for eight people and struggled to finish them. They also offer a workday menu during the week. Definitely worth a try!

It's a shame they bring you the menu in Swiss francs, but then at the cashier the owner changes the amount and charges you in euros, applying her own price and rounding it up... She says she can't charge you in francs, but they don't bring the menu in euros. Not very fair. It's a shame I would have left a tip for the waiter.

24/07/2024: Vado alla solitaria da diversi anni ormai, però nel corso di questo lasso di tempo ho visto crollare piano piano tutto quanto, e mi spiace scrivere questo perché mi sono affezionato al locale, l'area esterna la trovo molto rilassante, il personale è disponibile, però.....
I prezzi del menù sono diventati spropositati rispetto alla qualità e alla quantità di cibo che viene servito.
Le pizze, se prima erano una certezza della zona, ora sono sulla soglia del commestibile.
In generale sembra che voglia diventare un ristorante dedicato al turismo con qualità scarsa, prezzi alti, porzioni scarse in modo da far prendere almeno 3 piatti al turista che è lì in vacanza;
Però è un peccato che la gente della zona debba vedere "morire" posti del genere e abbandonarli in quanto delusi.
Ripeto, mi spiace fare questa recensione negativa a La Solitaria, ma lo faccio sperando che possa ritornare a splendere e spero di poterla cambiare in positivo un giorno!
