03/01/2026: We had an unforgettable evening. The setting is truly enchanting. The wine selection is excellent. Each dish was beautifully presented, and I personally recommend the risotto. The choice of main courses is also overwhelming; each one is worth trying! The desserts are delicious. The staff is kind and professional. We will definitely be back. We highly recommend it.
01/01/2026: First of all, Happy New Year. When you enter certain places, expectations are high, sometimes due to the "reviews." I'll get to the point: the location and restaurant are beautiful, the welcome and the professional table setting are excellent, and so far so good. Let's talk about the menu shown in the photo, at €95 excluding wine and drinks. It's the last dinner of 2025 that you want to enjoy with your partner. Upon reading, the menu, destined to remind us of a memorable evening, is certainly quite harmonious, with unusual pairings that immediately set my taste buds on edge. We chose a very popular white wine from Vulture, and so far so good. To begin, a greeting from the kitchen: "leek and whitebait tart," which in my opinion was a little unbalanced, followed by an excellent tartare with a good seasoning. I appreciated the crunch of the toasted hazelnuts, which, given the good execution, gives us hope for a prelude of flavors. Here begins the flat ECG, without a jolt to listen to with our palates. You'd understand the disappointment—mine, my companion's, and some of the other diners at the nearby table—if you'd tried it yourself. The scallop and Jerusalem artichoke were flat in flavor, and the scallop was actually thinly sliced. The pancetta looked good, but didn't taste good. It lacked structure; a shame, the idea was good, the execution was terrible. The cuttlefish with minted beans tasted good, but it was a shame the dish was cold, and the sauce was consequently too cold. The squid was sparse; I only had one piece with 10 beans. First course, very engaging to read, but little in substance "Fregola with turnip tops (only the chlorophyll), clams, scrambled oysters and Roman conciato. A very disappointing macrobiotic preparation, the strong, concentrated flavour of the turnip tops cancelled everything out. Here too, the idea was good, but the execution was terrible and flat. Even the cod, now the prince of the seas, was downgraded and hidden under an indistinguishable blanket of combinations" mashed potatoes and cream of cauliflower "bad execution (in my opinion, obviously). Last but not least, the phantom tasting of cotechino and auspicious lentils. Nothing to do with tradition, not to mention the risk of the hollandaise sauce which negatively distorted the simplicity of the cotechino's flavour. Well, I won't go any further. Sometimes we should follow proverbs, for example "He who wants too much, ends up with nothing" and I conclude by saying that cooking is the taste and art of the Soul. Experimenting is fine, but tasting is essential. Happy New Year!

06/04/2026: We went to the Dark Ages on Saturday evening. We had farinata and really good pizza, with excellent ingredients. The beer was also excellent. They offered a very unique daily menu, again using genuine, non-commercial ingredients that we'll definitely try in the future. Kindness and courtesy are the order of the day. If you go to San Bartolomeo, you have to try the Dark Ages.
06/04/2026: The food was good, although the pizza served as an appetizer was burnt on the edges and bottom. That said, the service was rather peculiar: dishes were brought randomly, leaving half the table starving while the other continued to receive food. And finally, the atmosphere: first and foremost, I would avoid chipped tableware; it's unhygienic because the most porous parts are exposed to bacteria. More lighting is needed, and the benches are really uncomfortable.
Either you want to be innovative or you want to be medieval; the mix of modern and historical dishes isn't very convincing. Furthermore, if you're offering vegan dishes, it's confusing to use names for dishes made with animal proteins (like vegan shrimp).

04/01/2026: Passing by, average brioche, truly excellent coffee... The best I've had in San Bartolomeo. Always top-notch even in winter... If you're in the area... It's worth a visit at least once.

23/03/2026: Two for dinner on our way to the western coast. A satisfying dinner, with generous and well-executed dishes. The fritto misto was excellent, and I think it's their signature dish, considering that almost all of the regulars (it seems like they're familiar with the service) ordered it. The place has a very trattoria-style feel, a bit retro with paper tablecloths, but that's understandable given the very low cover charge. Attentive service, although the young man occasionally seemed a bit lost... was it the restaurant's busyness? I'd like to think so.
Will we be back? Definitely.

15/09/2025: Sidecar Caffè… A place where you feel at home, where you can chat about this and that with the owner Blanca.
Only a few days, but I already feel at home and treated like a longtime loyal customer.
One last Vermentino this evening, and then it's time to go home… unfortunately… 😞😞😞😞

07/01/2026: A very simple restaurant, with a menu and a trattoria-like approach, close to the sea but no sea view.
A few tables inside, not many more outside.
The restaurant menu is a bit limited (but often that's not a bad thing), plus a standard selection of pizzas.
Spaghetti allo scoglio was good, and the fritto misto was very good, but also very limited and sad. If you're used to abundant mixed seafood fritti with many different types of fish, then choose something else.
Prices are a bit too Riviera-like in high season; I recommend lowering them, at least in winter; otherwise, I understand the restaurant being empty on a holiday.
The service was quick (but the restaurant was deserted) and friendly, but the restaurant needs a little more attention to its table setting and menu.

25/08/2025: The appetizers served during our half-hour wait for two takeout pizzas looked very nice and well-prepared. The waiter was very kind and friendly.
The pizza was the worst I've ever tasted: spicy ham and mushrooms (I didn't ask for chili pepper), "plastic" mozzarella, and frozen dough.
The sausage and chips (French fries, half raw). Terrible.
I don't understand why both pizzas were spicy.
