Beautiful place, the owner and his two staff members were very kind and helpful, the food was excellent, and the beers even better. A very positive experience that I recommend and will definitely return.

The location is surrounded by greenery and has an old-world atmosphere, just like the restaurant itself. Excellent cuisine, and the owner is very knowledgeable about dishes that I would call local in part and medieval in part. A pleasant discovery, definitely recommended.

Hear ye, hear ye! If you seek refreshment within these walls, turn your steps toward "The Dark Ages."
The innkeeper and his servants will welcome you with the utmost courtesy, as if you were a great lord. The banquet is regal: pan fritu plentiful enough to fill you up, a succulent shank, and a revisited brandacujun that is a true delight for the palate.
To clear your throat, you'll find a selection of craft beers of rare excellence. Everything is honest, plentiful, and very tasty.

We went to the Dark Ages on Saturday evening. We had farinata and really good pizza, with excellent ingredients. The beer was also excellent. They offered a very unique daily menu, again using genuine, non-commercial ingredients that we'll definitely try in the future. Kindness and courtesy are the order of the day. If you go to San Bartolomeo, you have to try the Dark Ages.

The food was good, although the pizza served as an appetizer was burnt on the edges and bottom. That said, the service was rather peculiar: dishes were brought randomly, leaving half the table starving while the other continued to receive food. And finally, the atmosphere: first and foremost, I would avoid chipped tableware; it's unhygienic because the most porous parts are exposed to bacteria. More lighting is needed, and the benches are really uncomfortable.
Either you want to be innovative or you want to be medieval; the mix of modern and historical dishes isn't very convincing. Furthermore, if you're offering vegan dishes, it's confusing to use names for dishes made with animal proteins (like vegan shrimp).
