Discovered thanks to Google reviews - it's located on a side street in Cogoleto. The best pasta alla norma I've ever eaten.
A simple but well-kept place.
Generous portions (thank you) - it reminds you of what it was like to go to a restaurant in the old days. No frills, good and plentiful food. Thanks for the surprise.
The house white wine is also excellent.

20/11/2025: What can I say? Everything is delicious, from the focaccia to the desserts, you're spoiled for choice. The "snowballs" (small doughnuts with Chantilly cream) are a must-try. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful.
22/09/2025: There are no words to describe how delicious the focaccia is from this bakery! I usually order trays of focaccia from Milan before I even leave to make sure I have it when I arrive 🤭! Your focaccia is so good! 🔝👏🏻🙏
The wait depends a lot on the day and time. Obviously, in the summer, there's a longer wait on Saturdays, but it's worth it!

03/10/2025: The food here at "Casale" is good, but I have to be honest and say that the portions have been getting smaller for a while now, and the price has become proportionally higher. It's a shame, but I hope the management will reflect on this and take this as a constructive comment, not a criticism. Good luck!

19/11/2025: I stayed at this wonderful bed & breakfast. What more can I say? It's truly a sight to behold, immersed in nature.
The owners are always available and ready to meet any needs. Highly recommended.
13/09/2025: had a 5 day girls trip here and it was amazing, the food, the service, the owners and the view! a super nice pool and amazing breakfast, really such a dream deff recommend! but make sure you have a car to visit cities around because its quite distant.

30/11/2025: The restaurant is spacious and traditionally furnished, yet somewhat unusual, especially with the wisteria plant creating a romantic vaulted ceiling. The service is impeccable and attentive, the portions generous, the quality truly superb, the meat excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. If it were possible, I would have given it a 7.
30/11/2025: Unmissable: excellent quality of every dish and wine, generous portions, friendly service. All in a quaint setting. Spectacular head steak. Unforgettable sliced steak with pistachios. Tiramisu worthy of the best home cooking. I can't wait to go back.

17/12/2025: Business lunch, food significantly below the standards of similar places, just enough to nourish yourself. A few years ago, the quality of the food was significantly better, but only if there were no alternatives. Friendly staff, adequate space as expected, service just adequate.
06/12/2025: A wonderful surprise. As a Venetian dinoassaggio, I can only say I was pleasantly surprised. Compliments for the delicious dishes and the courteous, fast service. I recommend it 200%.

Long waits and very rude staff.
Zero attention to allergies and intolerances.
They make a mistake with a dish, you point it out, and their response is, "It's too crowded, so either you eat this or you have to wait at least another half hour, queuing at all the other tables."
Okay, but the dish must have been removed from your bill... not even close.
Never again!
05/01/2026: Slow service, barely adequate food, but the real problem is that on October 17th, while I was paying, the machine jammed, so I had to pay twice. Unfortunately, I ended up paying twice. I called and sent my IBAN, and they promised to refund one of the two payments. I wrote again yesterday, but I haven't received a response. It seems grossly unprofessional to charge double for a service that lasted over an hour and a half for farinata and pizza. I hope that, after reading the review, the owners can do what they promised.

Terrible value for money, a starter, a first course, wine and coffee 29 euros, for a Saturday at lunchtime in a fairly anonymous trattoria, very noisy, food neither infamy nor praise, few smiles I would say it is truly exaggerated!

20/12/2025: I don't speak Italian, but everything was perfect. The pizza was 100% Italian, well-priced, and of great quality. It was freshly prepared. Everything was perfect.
22/11/2025: We're a group of friends on a sports trip to Varazze. We're looking for a place to grab a pizza, and the guys from our opposing sports team recommend this place. We called way late for a standard reservation (7:00 PM), and they easily found us a spot for 8:00 PM. We had a great meal: tasty pizzas, well-topped, and a good dough that was perfectly cooked. The waitress and manager were welcoming and smiling, and the pizza + dessert + drink + liqueur were all very competitively priced; you won't find anything similar at that price in La Spezia. We'll be back.
