The cuisine, masterfully led by Enrico, adapts to the seasons with proposals ranging from fish, meat and truffles, all made with great attention Among the dishes that I love is the Catalan one, truly unique in its kind, so much so that it has become a point of reference for me, I only eat it at his place. The quality of the raw materials is evident in every course, as is the selection of wines, carefully curated and of the highest level, perfect to accompany each dish, a selection that could easily compete with Michelin restaurants. For those looking for an intimate and private place, Enrico offers a unique experience in his Boudoir Privé upon request. 11/02/2025: I have been to Scacco Matto for various occasions, breakfast, lunch and dinner. On all these occasions, I have found nothing to complain about but rather, only positive aspects of this place. First of all, it must be underlined that it is a bar/tobacconist/restaurant, so you can help yourself in any case. Excellent choice at breakfast of numerous pastries, fresh croissants, excellent cappuccino too. At lunch, during the week, the menu becomes smaller - no pizza - but equally qualitative. The amatriciana was really excellent and the side dishes equally rich. At dinner, the pizza is to be praised. I have never eaten such a light and tasty pizza, even using wholemeal dough if desired. The menu is full of special pizzas, which are unique and must all be tried. I would also like to applaud the staff, who are extremely friendly and helpful. The prices are medium high, but the quality you pay for is excellent value for money.

10/02/2025: Da amante dei crudi non posso dare meno di 5 stelle. Se a questi si aggiunge uno spaghetto alle pannocchie spaziale le stelle dovrebbero essere almeno 6. Conto nel complesso corretto per l'alta qualità delle portate

07/01/2025: Sotto Natale: Fila lunga, lenta, sterna e quindi al freddo per ritirare la cena pronta. Solo una persona alla cassa. Titolare/gestore indisponente e scontroso tratta i clienti con sufficienza e fastidio. Le polpette (di pesce misto) non mi hanno convinto in termini di qualità pertanto dubito anche sulla qualità di tutto il resto dal sapore però buono.

25/01/2025: Locale da non perdere. Il luogo perfetto per trascorrere una piacevole serata nel cuore del centro storico di Palestrina, a pochi chilometri da Roma. Il menu si caratterizza per una ricerca in bilico tra tradizione e innovazione dove i sapori della tradizione romana vengono sapientemente proposti con leggere variazioni di accento. Assolutamente da non sottovalutare la ricca selezione di vini della cantina del locale in grado di soddisfare anche i palati più raffinati. Se è vero che Ostetia numero cinque è a tutti gli effetti un ristorante ricercato e di assoluta qualità è vero allo stesso tempo che l'ambiente famigliare è in grado di diventare il protagonista assoluto della serata. Consigliatissimo, anche perché la trippa... non potete capi!
