10/12/2024: Beautiful experience, we went for lunch for my birthday and I must say that it feels like being at home, a welcoming place and very kind staff, excellent food and the welcome we received from the great "Giorgione" is priceless.
Highly recommended AA++
25/11/2024: We had dinner in this restaurant: a very rich buffet with cured meats, cheeses, sauces, bread, focaccia, tripe... a second course of first courses and a second course of second courses depending on the season, two side dishes and a trio of desserts. Apart from wine and drinks. All very very good.

30/11/2024: We came across Forte Sorgnano, and Marco on Hitched whilst looking for suppliers for a wedding in Italy. After having our original hopes dashed, when a similar venue was closing for refurbishment, we were keenly seeking out a romantic castle in Tuscany or Umbria.
The process can be overwhelming and I had countless vendors reach out to me, some more professional than others. But the whole experience with Forte Sorgano stood out from the start - the communication was so thorough and professional, the pictures beautiful, and the flexibility perfect.
It's also really important to note that budget and logistical needs were really important to us and can be difficult to meet, but we loved Forte Sorgnano because it offered everything we'd hoped for, accommodated all of our guests on site and still came in at a reasonable price.
Marco was easy and professional to deal with from the beginning and put no pressure on us to book, but offered lots of ideas and creative options for how we could customise the wedding to our vision.
We visited a couple of times, and this venue does not disappoint in person. In fact it's probably hard to get the full impact from pictures, but it is a beautiful estate, surrounded by greenery, with a refurbished castle atop a hill and overlooking the hamlet. It has everything you could need - a restaurant, accommodation, staff, parks for the kids, swimming pool, hot tub, even a farm. We love that they produce their own wine, olive oil and honey - and couldn't resist buying our own.
We tasted the wedding food beforehand which was an amazing experience in and of itself - the food options were so varied and delicious - I've never had such great wedding food. We also tried out the wines but loved the Forte Sorgnano ones.
The wedding ran smoothly - with our guests experiencing the same wow factor as we did. The rooms were clean, check in process professional, and the food delicious. We had a pizza party and cultural ceremony the night before which was accommodated so perfectly and the perfect welcome for our guests.
The day itself was magical. The staff made us feel like royalty and the food and service was everything you would expect from Italy! The castle looked magnificient - and saying our vows on top of the gorgeous terrace was the most incredible moment of my life. There were so many unique and special touches throughout the day which made the experience unforgettable.
The next day Marco arranged activities for us including a truffle hunt, wine tasting and a pasta party - it felt like our own homemade holiday as well as wedding and we were so grateful to have this precious extra time with loved ones to celebrate and relax.
Thank you Marco and ALL of the team at Forte Sorgnano for the most amazing three days of our lives. We will never forget this incredible experience and can't wait to revisit. We just love the rustic, calm and inviting feel of this venue, and the unrivaled Italian hospitality on offer.
We cannot wait to return as guests for our anniversary!

04/11/2024: A home cooked feel that was delicious. I enjoyed the strangozzi in tomato sauce which was home made and it’s a local pasta originating from the region of Umbria. Overall the dishes were all great, from the stewed boar and deer meat ravioli. If you are nearby, definitely worth a stop for a meal.

03/11/2024: Unfortunately my experience in this place was very negative, poor service, waiting more than an hour, raw meat when expressly told that I wanted it cooked, ordering mistake, lack of kindness, I'm sorry because this place was recommended to me by someone trust me, last thing nothing has been done to remedy the situation!
I wouldn't recommend it today!
07/10/2024: We were certainly on the wrong evening, the place was super crowded, many children were running between the tables making confusion but also their parents who weren't running between the tables were making even more confusion, it was like being at a village festival. Service not suitable for all that people...... too bad.

Relais Paradiso Restaurant

06/01/2025: My husband and I stayed at this property the night between 4 and 5 January 2025. Upon arrival, no one answered the intercom. A gentleman who was working in the garden had to open the gate for us. The lady at the reception was eating and greeted us with her mouth full, so much so that she couldn't even respond to our greeting. She told us that she didn't know that we had the spa included, but my husband had purchased the complete package. Given our insistence, with paper reservation in hand, he showed us the time dedicated to us, but shortly after he called us back to tell us to wait longer. However, the most disconcerting thing was that he assigned us a room that was still dirty because the previous guests had just left. So we opened the door and found the bed unmade, slippers thrown around, etc. At this point we were assigned another room, and I pointed out that TO BE A 5 STAR, the essential products were missing, for example body cream! The shower gel dispenser was half empty. The room was definitely not up to 5 star standards, but at least it was clean. In the mini bar there were only two bottles of water and here came the second surprise: the bottle of sparkling water tasted like orange, so it had been used by previous guests (who had evidently eaten an orange or a tangerine) and then filled!
The spa was fortunately clean and well-stocked, although the outdoor pool which should have been set at 38 degrees was freezing, and the sauna was not working.
The reading room on the ground floor is nice. As for breakfast on the veranda, the products were absolutely not up to par, and it took half an hour to get a hot tea and a cappuccino (we had practically finished breakfast). The gate should have opened automatically from the inside, but instead we always had difficulties.
The staff is absolutely unprepared and uncourteous.
The location however is beautiful, so it's a big shame!
15/12/2024: Excellent experience, friendly and always helpful staff, beautiful structure, absolute tranquility especially because few cars pass on the road 20 meters from the relais. Clean and equipped spa, and above all private at the time you book it. Lack of balcony and bathtub in the rooms, price per night 200 euros for 2 with spa treatment. Overall recommended.

20/08/2024: Ma dai! Buona la degustazione di salumi locali… ma il resto… Abbiamo aspettato più di un’ora per i secondi. Io ho preso la porchetta che doveva essere una chicca. In realtà mi è arrivato un piatto con quattro fette sottili di porchetta scottate su piastra tanto da renderle rinsecchite e salatissime e servite con ketchup e senape sparse nel piatto e foglie di insalata buttate sopra la porchetta (senza alcun senso). Mia moglie ha preso un primo discreto.
Ordinati anche due calici di rosso di montefalco fatti pagare 10 euro l’uno! E alla fine con un conto da 100 euro, dopo aver aspettato oltre un’ora tra antipasto e seconda portata ci hanno anche chiesto se volevamo lasciare la mancia!
P.s. Se la cucina è piccola, come dettoci da una cameriera, non apparecchiate per 100 coperti!

01/10/2024: Este restaurante fue recomendado por el anfitrión del hotel en el que nos alojamos cerca. Una comida excelente. Platos grandes de capaccio y jamón y bruschetta para empezar seguido de pasta y luego suculentas rodajas de filete como plato principal. El servicio era muy amable y servicial, ya que luchamos con nuestro italiano.
