04/01/2026: Amazing stay at Tana Della Volpe; 1. The location is breathtaking with a 360 view of the surrounding mountains. Watching the last (or first) rays of the sun hit the neighbouring peaks is already worth the trip ! 2. The place is incredibly cosy. The exterior doesn’t do justice to the interior where everything is made of wood. Extra points for all the the vintage wooden ski gear hanging on the walls ! 3. The food served at dinner is delicious. If you’re amongst the first to grab dinner make sure to sit by the windows do enjoy the view on Sestrieres down in the valley 4. Owner and staff are caring and make you feel welcome ! We’ll definitely come back as soon as we get a chance

31/12/2025: An unacceptable experience, one we wouldn't recommend to anyone. In all our mountain travel experiences and all the mountain huts we've visited over the years, we've never experienced anything so unpleasant. A table booked and confirmed on the terrace was instead assigned elsewhere without explanation. Numerous dishes on the menu were unavailable (the slicer was "busy," the venison was missing, and other dishes were missing), a information never communicated at the time of booking. The staff was openly rude and pushy: they insisted on ordering immediately, with the explicit phrase "otherwise I'll have to send you away," completely inconsistent with any standard of hospitality. To make matters worse, the bathroom was leaking heavily, and the floor was flooded, so much so that water reached our table. When we reported the incident to the owner at the end of the meal, the response was absolute silence: no explanation, no apology. An epilogue that sheds a lot of light on the management of the restaurant.

18/01/2026: 1 star only because it can't be given less. Fantastic food, but the service is a compliment. Grumpy and rude owner (awful). To top it off, before we left, they tried to STEAL a pair of gloves that were on the table (we were still there getting dressed and they were clearing the table). When we asked for them back, they even gave us a rude answer! Disgusting, shameful. After leaving you €300 in cash (because the POS doesn't work, conveniently), you gave us a rude answer. Never again!

18/01/2026: Came to the restautant on 18/1/26, wanted to sit in the outside room by the fire. Was told by the owner that the place is booked out despite there was only a couple sitting and no reserved signs visible. Went inside the main restaurant where we were offered a table by the entrance door. The owner told us that they only accept cash and we told him we did not have cash but card only. He literally said’Ok, bye bye then’. Never met anyone so rude in a restaurant. Only seen such attitude in Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares 😂😂😂

17/01/2026: The quality of service and products has significantly deteriorated. They probably see it this way: "We have the mountains and people are always screwing us over," but that's not how it works; the bartender with dyed black hair is still a bit of a sensation. Maybe a little better than the other bar next door, but it's a tough fight to see who does the least damage.

01/01/2026: The prices are high (like a real restaurant - €20 for polenta and 4 mini sausages, and they didn't even ask for cheese due to an intolerance) and the chaos that reigns there (after all, it's self-service...). The bartender, already known in the past for his inappropriate and rude attitude, despite an €85 receipt, allows himself to mock (the men) in an unlikely way and make inappropriate and embarrassing jokes (to the young girls next to me!!), absolutely unacceptable! People like that shouldn't be in the public area!! The only polite ones are the two young men waiting on tables, who deserve 4 stars just for working in such chaos... poor Sestriere where we've been coming from for 4 generations...!
