Tana della Volpe In Sestriere

After reading several mixed reviews, I'd like to share my experience, which was overwhelmingly positive. I chose Tana della Volpe for a surprise celebration of my husband's 50th birthday: the snowmobile ride and dinner in the mountain hut made for an extraordinary evening. The mountain hut is located in an incredible location at 2,600 meters above Sestriere. The exterior doesn't quite convey its charm, but the interior is a true gem: entirely made of wood and furnished in perfect Alpine style, warm and welcoming. The menu offers 4-5 dishes per course, all traditional, and a solid wine list. Special mention goes to the mille-feuille birthday cake with Chantilly cream and chocolate, which was truly exquisite. Massimo, the owner, was extremely kind and available both by email and throughout the evening. The bill is a bit above average, but for such a special occasion and the exclusivity of the experience, it was absolutely worth it.

From the chairlift's arrival, we noticed the sign for dinner with a snowmobile and decided to make a reservation. After about 20 minutes of a wonderful climb through the snow and stars, we went to the restaurant with a charming window overlooking Sestriere. The location was impeccably maintained, the service truly excellent, warm and attentive, and the food was top-notch. A constant wow factor, we were very pleasantly surprised. We spent 50 euros each, including 25 euros for the snowmobile taxi service, for an appetizer, first course, dessert, and wine—very affordable prices for such high quality.

If you like skiing and want to spend some great time after skiing in a beautiful place, this is really the best hotel for you!

Amazing stay at Tana Della Volpe; 1. The location is breathtaking with a 360 view of the surrounding mountains. Watching the last (or first) rays of the sun hit the neighbouring peaks is already worth the trip ! 2. The place is incredibly cosy. The exterior doesn’t do justice to the interior where everything is made of wood. Extra points for all the the vintage wooden ski gear hanging on the walls ! 3. The food served at dinner is delicious. If you’re amongst the first to grab dinner make sure to sit by the windows do enjoy the view on Sestrieres down in the valley 4. Owner and staff are caring and make you feel welcome ! We’ll definitely come back as soon as we get a chance
