19/10/2025: A truly five-star culinary experience, all at a very fair price. I was in a group of 10, all enthusiastic and more than satisfied, all in agreement that the quality of the dishes was outstanding, both in terms of ingredients and preparation.
Many of us chose the tasting menu, which was truly lavish (several appetizers, including the excellent gnocco fritto with local cured meats and a Russian salad among the best I've ever tasted; two first courses, including exceptional tagliatelle with venison ragù; the sliced beef served in a tile and topped with arugula and parmesan shavings; desserts, including the chocolate cake, perhaps one of the top three I've ever tasted, if not the best; several bottles of local wine).
Add to this the welcoming atmosphere, probably recently renovated, and the kindness, professionalism, and expertise of Carlo, a young man and son, as well as co-owner with his parents.
We will definitely be back; once you've discovered excellence of this level, you can't help but plan your next dinner or lunch there.
19/10/2025: There were 17 of us at the Merendero and we all left thrilled! From the first moment, we felt welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The service was impeccable, punctual, without any waits, and always with a smile.
We had the welcome truffle entree, house cured meats with fried gnocco, Russian salad, truffle carpaccio, truffle tartar, pumpkin flan with fondue and truffle, parmesan risotto with truffle (it's really good!), tagliolini with butter and truffle, fried egg with truffle, pork fillets on truffle cream, and the wonderful dessert!
Every dish was carefully crafted, with top-quality ingredients and a generous helping of truffle, making it all the more special. The carefully selected wine paired perfectly with the meal.
I would return a thousand times over!!!
A true delight for the palate and for those who love good food in a welcoming and refined atmosphere.

11/02/2026: We had lunch on Sunday, February 8th. Not seeing Patry at the tables and Luigi in the kitchen seemed surreal...longtime friends but rightly retired. New, youthful management attentive to customer requests. Excellent, top-quality cooked products. On my way out, I checked the receipt and she had the wrong table. I went back to pay the difference. Since she only had fish, it was only right not to make her lose what she owed. Good work, guys.
06/02/2026: I went, as usual, to try the fish, but unfortunately we're no longer there. The portions are incredibly small, there's very little choice, and the quality of the fish isn't the same as usual. The only thing that hasn't changed is the price, which I never objected to before, but now it's excessive for what I ate. I really think the chef has changed. I want to go back because I hope it was a fluke. The staff are always wonderful, but that's not enough.

28/05/2025: Il cibo è molto buono e con materie prime molto adeguate. Segnalo i salumi e gli agnolotti. Pranzo anche in linea con aspettative. Unico neo il servizio molto lento.
04/05/2025: In una piazzetta di questo piccolo comune Pavese che conserva parte del suo aspetto medievale trovate un agriturismo chiamato appunto La Piazzetta. Sembra quasi di entrare in una casa privata , accoglienza (cassa) e servizi a pianterreno e poi , salita una irta scala, due sale rustiche molto ben arredate . Venite accolti subito dal titolare che si racconta e racconta la sua azienda con gradita modestia e piacevoli particolari .
Le tavole hanno corredi con doppie tovaglie e tovaglioli in stoffa (sempre molto graditi) e su ognuna lampade elettriche che rilasciano una giusta luce di accompagno ai cibi.
Manca il menù scritto ma …. In questi luoghi è normale , sei in collina e il menù degustazione la fa da padrone. Ci sta.
Insaccati molto buoni con un salame che si scioglie in bocca come il lardo e la pancetta. Coppa molto buona e ben tagliata . Cornetti di pasta sfoglia ripieni e altre delizie da assaggiare con calma. Due primi ben cucinati e saporiti : risotto agli asparagi e deliziosi agnolotti al brasato (i migliori da me mai assaggiati).
Un secondo a scelta tra gli elencati , alcuni di noi hanno scelto la tagliata di manzo che ci è stata servita in un coppo per decidere la cottura , vedi foto. Vino rosso di pronta beva prodotto dal Maini, il bianco acquistato. Convino dolce e caffè 40 euro.

Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile, consigliamo a tutti la cruditè di pesce che, a parer mio, non si mangia così buona neanche in liguria! Prezzi onesti per la qualità del cibo
