15/07/2025: Holiday in Arma... I went for dinner twice in one week... I had the best octopus ever... a delicious tuna tartare... a generous mixed fried fish... well-fried and very digestible... And the spaghetti with squid and spicy Taggiasca olives... well-cooked... good value... a very, very popular family-run business... The owner who served us seemed gruff... but that's not just appearance! Try it and believe it! I'll definitely be back...

29/04/2025: Locale piccolo ma accogliente. Ci siamo sentiti subito a nostro agio ed il menù del giorno comprendeva dei piatti particolari, ma che incuriosivano per gli ingredienti e le combinazioni. Infatti ho assaggiato degli ottimi ravioli con il polpo, mentre le persone con me erano entusiaste dello stocco con patate e olive presentato a regola d'arte e cucinato con amore. I profumi dei piatti erano quelli tipici di una lunga tradizione. Se siete di passaggio per Arma di Taggia, andate sicuri in questo piccolo grande ambiente. Anche la pizza di cui abbiamo assaggiato la schiacciata con rosmarino era davvero buona. Saluto i due giovani ragazzi che si davano un gran da fare e soprattutto, quello che si è presentato a me che sono un chitarrista, come convinto batterista. A presto, senz' altro.

The service is fantastic and we celebrated our wedding anniversary here. Thank you Fabio! Highly recommended!

At the first attempt I failed because there was no room, after trying to get the owner at the entrance to look at me who continued to ignore me I managed to book a table for the next day. The next day I finally went: I ordered tagliolini with seafood and was brought a plate of clams (the other seafood disappeared?), half of which were still closed, at the bottom of the plate a lot and a lot of sand, and above all A STONE!!! How can something like this happen? Pure madness, and I wasn't even offered anything to apologize... never see you again

We went to this restaurant driven by the positive reviews, but unfortunately our experience was far from satisfactory. We had to wait a long time to order, even though the place was half empty. The dishes arrived after over 40 minutes of waiting, really excessive.
The prices are very high for what is offered. I ordered a mixed fried food (which was only calamari) for 20 euros: too bad it was almost all batter and very little fish.
My husband had ordered both the first and second course, but after a very long wait for the second course we gave up and asked to cancel it. You can't wait that long, especially when the restaurant is not even full.
Plus they added one euro to the price of the side dish on the receipt... so without explanation, on the menu it said 6 euros and at the till they charged 7.
Truly a big disappointment. We definitely won't be back.

01/08/2025: I've read some reviews, especially the last one. We've been going to this restaurant for 15 years, and in my opinion, there's no other restaurant/pizzeria that compares to it, both in terms of quality and price.
We come from Brescia and spend almost as much here at Ventanargo.
The permanent and very professional staff, as well as the occasional staff on busy evenings, do a decent job, but I can never, ever, say in 15 YEARS that I've experienced any poor service or rudeness.
It's well known that customers are never satisfied; they want to be served immediately, and they don't realize that on some very busy evenings, there are longer waits than usual.
But as for me, I prefer to wait up to an hour for service if necessary, but I wouldn't change places in Arma or the surrounding area if I want quality and value.

29/07/2025: We went to dinner a few nights ago, reserving a table for the first shift. As soon as we were seated, the annoyed waitress started telling us there was an hour wait for pizzas! We asked why, and she replied that the place was full (??). If a pizzeria can't serve all its customers, perhaps they should reduce the number of tables or avoid doing takeout, giving priority to customers seated at tables! We've never had anything like this happen to us! Furthermore, one of the pizzas that arrived after an hour was burnt, but given the time we had, we didn't dare ask for a remake.
Terrible experience!

24/04/2025: Tolles Restaurant, wenn man die ligurische Küche liebt. Hervorragende ligurische Spezialitäten wie Brandacujun, Corniglio, Pasta mit Pesto Genovese, Vittello Tonnato. Kein Touristen-Lokal, sondern typisch italienisch-ligurisch. Das Essen am Ostersonntag umfasste 10 (!) Gänge. Das Restaurant liegt im Ortskern eines kleinen, historisch sehenswerten Örtchens. Absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man in der Gegend ist. Die Bedienung und der Barkeeper waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

13/07/2025: The restaurant is located on the Arma di Taggia seafront, so it goes without saying that the place is very pleasant.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food; I had the stewed mussels and the shuttles with shrimp ragù, but I also tried the other dishes my friends at the table had, including pasta with pesto, made especially for a little girl, tagliolini with clams, grilled shrimp (we had asked for them fried, but whatever), and breaded swordfish.
The portions were certainly generous, no doubt about that, but the quality was very uneven.
The pesto pasta (I ate the one the little girl hadn't wanted to finish), despite not being on the menu, was a complete disaster: pesto diluted with dried fruit—presumably walnuts—that tasted anything but Ligurian (let's not even mention the fact that I almost broke my tooth on a small stone I found on my plate. These things can happen, but it's always better if they don't).
The mussels, of decent quality though not exceptional in flavor, had this residual stew with an almost floury consistency that wasn't pleasant to the palate (but in the end, partly because I was hungry, I finished them).
The main pasta course, however, was a complete disaster: both mine with shrimp ragù and my friend's with clams were globs of glue disguised as pasta.
I understand the proximity to the French border, but let's leave pasta with glue to the French; Furthermore, my ragù was also very floury and the shrimp were overcooked, while my friend's clams tasted only of white wine, which evidently hadn't been allowed to evaporate properly.
No complaints about the breaded swordfish, which was definitely the best dish at the table.
The prices, however, were excessive, like the €25 for any of the main courses (really too much).
The service was average; I liked some things and others less, but that would be a purely subjective judgment, so I don't think it's fair to write it, also out of respect for the wait staff.

03/08/2025: We bezochten dit restaurant met z’n drieën en waren aanvankelijk enthousiast: de locatie is prachtig, het eten lekker en verzorgd. Helaas werd onze avond grondig verpest door de houding van één specifieke serveerster.
De jonge vrouw in kwestie – opvallend door haar wimperextensions, lipfiller en Slavisch uiterlijk – sprak geen Engels of Frans en leek duidelijk weinig geduld te hebben met niet-Italiaanse klanten. Toen er een zwart haar in het eten van mijn vrouw werd gevonden (zij is blond), werd dit zonder excuses teruggenomen. Toen het bord werd teruggebracht, legde de serveerster demonstratief het haar van mijn vrouw achter haar schouder, alsof het onze schuld was — erg respectloos.
Daarbij werden vragen of opmerkingen beantwoord met oogrollen, zuchten en een geërgerde toon. Het voelde alsof we niet welkom waren omdat we de taal niet spraken.
Tot overmaat van ramp werd het bord van de eerste persoon al afgeruimd terwijl de anderen nog aan het eten waren — iets wat in een restaurant echt not done is.
Kortom: een mooie plek en goed eten, maar de bediening was zó onvriendelijk dat we ons onwelkom en ongemakkelijk voelden. Jammer, want het restaurant heeft potentieel. Maar zolang er niet wordt gewerkt aan klantvriendelijkheid, komen wij niet terug.
