24/06/2025: Great place. Fast, delicious and not expensive. Close to the beach, so you can take your pizza and eat it at sunset or sit in the privacy of the place and enjoy the wonderful taste. The service is smiling and helpful. Despite the lack of knowledge of Italian, we communicated without a problem. I recommend! Thank you and I will definitely come back 🇮🇹🍕🍕🍕

13/07/2025: We had dinner at this magnificent establishment! Attention to detail, attentive, kind, and helpful staff! Not to mention the dishes! Amazing, authentic, top-quality flavors! You could tell the fish was fresh and not frozen at all! I would return to this place a thousand times! Unmatched value for money! I recommend everyone to stop by this marvel to taste some real delicacies!

I was happy but then a waiter offered me the ice cream of Pizzo Calabro there are three flavors pistachio chocolate and white chocolate ... ok the chocolate is fine ... served tasted and it was hazelnut ... I look but mine was chocolate I am allergic to hazelnut ... having said that they did not want to know the moral of the story for them that was the chocolate and they made me pay for that uneaten dessert !!!! In the end it was the third time I went there but I will not go there again ... now they will answer me and we will come to terms with it !!! ok and deal with it !!

22/06/2025: I am celiac ... and here I found everything gluten free from the first courses to the fried food, they are careful about contamination! Very nice place and kind staff and Pasquale "the maître" was very kind also in advising me on the first courses that were suitable for gluten free! ... for gluten free the prices are not increased! I will definitely return

04/05/2025: I ended up at Giò’s pub after walking around Scalia a bit trying to find something for dinner. In Italy, everything Seems to fall into two categories, street food or fine dining. As soon as you walk into Giò’s, you notice the casual atmosphere. Families and young people enjoying time together with burgers and food free of pretense. I had the jalapeño poppers and a burger that I almost couldn’t finish. The topper? Ice. I got a glass of ice for my Coke. Lol, as an Americano it’s the small things in Italy that matter. I really enjoyed the energy of the customers and the service kept up with a full house. Bravo!

04/05/2025: Zeker één van de beste restaurants in Scalea. Gelegen op een sfeervol pleintje in het oude centrum. Beperkte menukaart maar meestal staat dit borg voor verse en kwaliteitsvolle producten én dat bleek ook zo te zijn. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Een topervaring.

2 paccheri all astice 70€ ove in questi non c era nessun connubio.
Non è una questione economica ma solamente pura mancanza di combinazione culinaria/soporifera.
Non so se tornerò x dare un ulteriore chance.

01/05/2025: Basta guardare una puntata di cucine da incubo e poi andare in questo ristorante. Vi renderete conto di essere sul live set di una puntata di Canavacviuolo.
Abbiamo aspettato 1 ora dopo l’ordinazione… spaghetti alle vongole: sono arrivati degli spaghetti a bagno d’olio con vongole di un colore giallo, secche, fredde, piene di sabbia!
Il fritto misto seguente era più vecchio di Matusalemme!!! Roba immangiabile!!! Peccato che i prezzi sono da buon ristorante… un piatto di spaghetti all’olio 18€!!!

05/07/2025: Beautiful and suggestive location, good service.. with surprises (I booked without knowing anything but watch their videos on social media to understand 😂)
The only flaw is the HIGH prices.. at least 10/15 more than they are worth (i.e. 30 euros for a large and good plate of pasta, for goodness sake, but with frozen shrimps it's maybe a bit too much.. or am I wrong?) it seemed to me like I was paying more for the show.. it's difficult to find something under €30.
I paid €150: 1 large appetizer, 1 shrimp tartare (but the waiter had made me understand that it was part of the appetizer courses already mentioned before), 2 first courses and 1 glass of wine
For the rest, I also found a party there so fun and entertainment guaranteed but if you are looking for tranquility and intimacy it didn't seem right to me (at least when I went)☺️

However, what left us a little perplexed was the behavior of the owner, who was rather rude towards a foreign waitress, we hope it was just an isolated episode.
