02/02/2025: Winter season, few bars open and we opt for this one. Packed bar, a poor waitress running up and down and 2 counter attendants... No price list at the table, long waiting times, at the bottom of the bowl of chips there was an orange peel probably from a previous customer and dirty bathrooms. Heavy bill = €9.5 for an Aperol spritz and a gingerino
24/12/2024: 2 euro un caffè. Ovviamente senza fare scontrino. Mi chiedo se al posto di fregare la gente così non sia meglio tenere chiuso.

09/09/2024: Good bread and croissants in the main street of Lignano Sabbiadoro
During our stay in Lignano Sabbiadoro, we visited this bakery in the main street to buy some bread and croissants. The place is small but welcoming, with a good selection of baked goods.
The bread was fresh and of good quality, perfect to accompany our meals. The brioches, although good, could have been a little softer "to our personal taste", but overall they were satisfactory. The general offer is interesting, with different options that certainly encourage you to try something else.
The service was friendly. Overall, a good bakery if you are in the area and looking for fresh products for breakfast or a light lunch.

With the new management it is a completely different restaurant, you may like it or not...
Putting on a lot of air doesn't always bring success.

18/01/2025: Wir essen seit vielen Jahren in diesem Restaurant und waren immer von der riesigen und teuren Platte mit Fisch, Meeresfrüchten und Hummer begeistert. Aber dieses Jahr (Juli 2024) waren wir sehr enttäuscht, vor allem vom Hummer, er entsprach nicht der vorherigen Qualität. Es fühlte sich an, als ob das Hummerfleisch erst herausgenommen, zu einer Pastete verarbeitet und wieder zurückgelegt wurde. Es ist eine Schande, ein so minderwertiges Produkt für so viel Geld zu erhalten. Die Bedienung war ganz gut.
30/09/2024: Locale turistico ma con una buona cucina. Menu ampio, propone sia pizze che piatti tradizionali. Tutto buono, veramente ottimi gli spaghettoni all'Astice, peccato che nel menu non fosse indicata la piccantezza che ha creato qualche difficoltà.
Prezzi accettabili e in linea con la concorrenza della zona. Unico problema l'affollamento, forse perchè era domenica. Il locale era strapieno nonostante i tavoli talmente vicini che i camerieri stentavano a passare, il consguente vociare era al limite del sopportabile.

09/03/2025: It would actually be a great café/bar, but the outside area seems unkempt. Everything made of plastic and very tightly packed. The service was ok but not overly friendly. The coffee ☕️ tastes good 👍🏻

19/08/2024: As soon as we arrived, despite 4 free tables (we hadn't booked), they told us to wait and in the meantime drink an aperitif... which we did but after half an hour the same tables were free 😅... and they made us sit... we waited 20 minutes to order after I went to ask...the food was very good, the location also let's say that the service needs to be reviewed...it seemed like we were bothering them and it wasn't very pleasant!

12/03/2025: The best restaurant in Lignano!! Top service - I've been a guest for many years and the waiters remember you. Excellent selection of dishes, generous portions, and all requests are met.
Very large restaurant, always quite busy, but you don't have to wait long for a table, food, etc. Children and pets are always welcome. Also possible for very large groups.
Absolutely clean, well-appointed location, always a little bit new.
An experience worth having!! And to all those who speak negatively about the restaurant - what goes around comes around.
15/11/2024: Been going there to eat and see since 1990....
I would recommend others to stay at Aldi or Frosta and for service you are better off at McDonalds!!!

21/08/2024: Top quality, prices of certain products almost double compared to last year? For example, the breaded sardines cost 0.80 euros each. . . This year 1.30 euros each!! Also a smile to non-regular customers. . It wouldn't hurt! 🙂

03/09/2024: Per il terzo anno consecutivo, con la mia famiglia, siamo tornati a Lignano ed alla stessa spiaggia. A pranzo tutti i giorni siamo sempre andati al chiosco attiguo alla spiaggia, il Bar Smeraldo: come sempre il Bar Smeraldo e soprattutto il personale di sala si sono confermati perfetti. Manuel ( che coordina i ragazzi dello staff di Sala ) e’ sempre un piacere rivederlo: molto simpatico, professionale ed attento a tutto ed a tutti; una vera garanzia. Andrea e Sofia ( già presenti negli anni precedenti) molto simpatici e bravissimi, ed anche loro sempre attenti ad offrire un ottimo servizio. Quest’anno c’era Kristian, un nuovo ragazzo, simpaticissimo: sia lui che noi, ci abbiamo messo pochissimo ad entrare in sintonia. Quindi che dire? Se hai un posto come questo dove passi le vacanze, le stesse si trascorrono più serenamente.
01/09/2024: Ogni anno quando torno a Lignano è sempre bello tornare in questo bar sul lungomare! Staff sempre molto gentile e disponibile, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è molto buono, considerato che le porzioni sono tutt’altro che misere e le insalate proposte sono saporite e sostanziose. Se poi ci si sofferma a fare due chiacchiere con il personale di sala, in particolare con Manuel che coordina i ragazzi in maniera eccellente, e con Sofia, Andrea e Kristian si avrà sempre a che fare con persone davvero piacevoli e simpaticissime, il che non sempre è scontato. Location assolutamente promossa!

If you stay in "room" one you will find a beautiful fresco/painting that serves to mask cracks that run along all four walls, disturbing.
Non-existent wardrobe but there is a shelf covered by a curtain which says it all: paradise for dust and mites.
Uncomfortable beds with very hard mattresses and pillows.
Bathroom let's draw a pitiful veil, I think the one on train carriages is wider. The toilet in front of the shower is impossible to sit upright, you make it strange by sitting on the side.
The hairdryer and the telephone didn't work, luckily we had a hairdryer brought from home.
Cold room especially at night.
There are a couple of power sockets and if you need to charge your cell phone you have to unplug the battery.
Towels never changed in a week, same for the sheets.
The food is truly indescribable. Buffet dinner served everything on one plate: pasta, side dish, meat, bread. The poor breakfast.
Shuttle bus for transporting tourists to the slopes is uncomfortable and leaves you waiting in the cold for hours, key word: disorganisation.
I definitely wouldn't recommend it
