29/10/2024: As I stroll across the Tiber, I feel the gentle breeze blowing from the river and hear the splashing of the water lapping against the stones of the banks. I soon see the Ponte Cestio, which spans elegantly over the river. This bridge connects the island of Tiberina with the Trastevere district and acts as a living link between the past and the present. The Ponte Cestio was originally built in the 1st century BC. Built in 200 BC and has an eventful history behind it. I stand in the middle of the bridge and look over the water. The light is reflected in the river and paints vivid patterns on the stone surface. The original building was renovated and expanded several times over the centuries. What can be seen today is the result of an extensive restoration in the 19th century. I can vividly imagine how this bridge was once crossed by Romans rushing back and forth - traders with goods, pilgrims on their way to holy sites and perhaps even poets crossing the bridge inspired by the beauty of the Tiber. The thought of it gives me a feeling of connection to the history that hangs in the air here. Here on the bridge there are not only stones, but also the stories of the people who used them. At one end of the bridge I spot the two statues of San Giovanni and San Paolo, rising into the sky and reminding passers-by of the long tradition of faith in this city. I walk closer, touch the cool stones and feel how time seems to stand still here. From here I also have a fantastic view of Isola Tiberina, the picturesque island that lies in the Tiber. The island has its own history that dates back to ancient times. It is said that it was built in the shape of a ship to commemorate the voyage of Aeneas. As I think about this, I see people walking on the island, picnicking or just enjoying the view. It is a popular place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I notice that there are a few other visitors standing on the bridge, enjoying the view and taking photos. A couple kisses while the ancient Ponte Cestio towers majestically over the Tiber in the background. A little boy watches intently as a boat sails along the river, and his excitement is contagious. I let my gaze wander over the river and am filled with the beauty of this city, which combines history and modern life in such a harmonious harmony. The Ponte Cestio is not only a connection between two banks, but also between times. It is a living witness to the countless stories that shape Rome in all its facets. With a final look at the bridge and the surrounding area, I continue my walk, enriched by the history I have found here and the impressions I can take with me. Rome is full of such treasures - small, unassuming places, infused with time and stories, waiting to be discovered. 07/08/2024: Voglio fare un feedback più che positivo per questo magnifico bistrot francese! Già soltanto entrandoci si è catapultati in Francia! L'ambiente è delizioso e ben curato. Il cibo poi è ottimo, tutto fresco ma soprattutto per la prima volta trovo (finalmente ) la cucina francese "di casa" . Piatti semplici ma curati nei minimi dettagli , tutti buonissimi! Un menù ricco in cui è difficile scegliere . Il figlio della proprietaria poi ti accoglie come un vecchio amico, perfetto padrone di casa! Abbiamo chiacchierato tanto ed è stata una serata piacevolissima. Splendida sorpresa!!!! Ci torneremo senz'altro molto molto spesso per provare tutto!!!! Complimenti!!!

05/08/2024: Such a special place! You get out of the loud, crowded Rome and come to an oasis of peace. The food was extraordinary and the nuns were so nice! And when you consider that by paying for this wonderful meal you are also sponsoring the lunchtime feeding of the poor, it's even more fun!

16/07/2024: Restaurant with mainly (but not only) French cuisine. At 9.30pm, accompanied by a guitar, the nuns who run it sing two prayers to Mary. If you choose at the top on the menu it is not a cheap restaurant, but you can dine for less with fewer demands. There is also a tourist menu. The service is welcoming and smiling, the place sober and polite. A private island in the tumultuous historical center of Rome.

02/12/2024: This Restaurant is a great place for food and fun. The atmosphere is lively, with nice decor and good music. They have a variety of tasty drinks, including cocktails and craft beers. The food is delicious and goes well with the drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a perfect spot to relax or hang out with friends.

26/07/2024: I visited Josephine Bistrot in Rome and was really impressed. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service impeccable. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, all prepared with fresh, quality ingredients. My favorite dish was the risotto, really delicious.

27/07/2024: Here you can find traditional French dishes that are even more authentic than those that are now often found in France. The atmosphere conveys typical Parisian nostalgia. We tasted: seared foie gras, snails, gazpacho and rooster in red wine. To finish, a crêpe Suzette. With water, red wine and sweet wine. The owner and the staff enrich their professionalism with a care and courtesy that is now more unique than rare, which offers a truly special evening. 100% recommended.

24/07/2024: Wonderful place, kind and very professional waiter, the owner really nice and courteous. Fabulous and delicious dishes, especially the onion soup and the quisce Lorraine. A piece of France in Rome where you can feel at home. By the way......excellent wines to accompany it all. I really recommend😃

14/07/2024: Great place and a unique cocktail bar/restaurant with live Jazz music.The interior design is spectacular and the staff is amazing.

16/06/2024: Good cocktails, but very much overpriced. Only one waiter (who is also an administrator), very neglectful and inattentive. Bad food, we ordered 8 different courses, only 2 of them were fine (steak and club sandwich), the rest were very disappointing, still very pricey. The promised jazz was more like some brazilian tv show sound tracks.
