08/06/2025: Always good food and very nice location. For my taste the chicken was once much better, it had much tastier and crispier skin than today, I can't say what may have contributed to this change. Despite this it is always a pleasure to dine in this place. The costs are on par with other places in Milan here we are about 70/80 per person with two bottles of bubble for 4. Reservation required. Convenient parking if not in the street of the restaurant however close.
31/05/2025: The location is really beautiful, it has that unaffected elegance that puts you at ease and at the same time prepares you for the libation! We who dined inside, to reach our table, walked through different rooms along shelves full of bottles of wine that were a pleasure to see on display.
The dinner was generally positive, perhaps a little below expectations that were very high, both for the reputation of the place and for its history. In fact, some preparations left us with some doubts without however making us judge the dish in a negative way.
Before analyzing what was our path, a positive judgment goes to the service, even if when asked if their shared appetizer could be enough for 2, the answer we received made us opt to order 4, that is, one each, instead we could have easily ordered 2 and split them. It would have been enough.
So let's start with the shared appetizer, which we greatly appreciated in all its preparations: knife-cut salami, Russian salad, cotechino and lentils and Cantabrian anchovies with butter and mondeghili with mustard.
I then continued with two second courses and I will talk about these: the first is a sort of their signature dish, namely the chicken alla diavola which I found very crunchy, very tasty, but the softness or succulence of the meat was a bit penalized in the preparation, which made it a bit dry.
The dish of pink veal kidney with spinach was excellent, which I found very elegant and prepared by the book. Their French fries were also very tasty, thin, crunchy and not very greasy. My children's and my wife's dishes were also widely promoted, especially the first courses: the potato gnocchi and the veal-filled ravioli. Some doubts about their vitello tonnato that my wife ordered as a second course, even though it was an appetizer, which she found excessively salty.
The evening was accompanied excellently by a bottle of Titolo, a 2020 Aglianico del Vulture produced by Elena Fucci that ages 24 months in barrique, taken from a truly fantastic wine list both for its breadth, or rather above all for its breadth given that it presents labels that are anything but banal and that are not afraid to go beyond the "usual suspects", and for its depth. The bill is in line with the experience lived. However, it could have been €36 less given that we could have taken 2 appetizers to share instead of 4.
