Hi all - I want to share some pictures of the wonderful meal and wine tasting we joyed last night at Mariella Fratellini’s restaurant in Monte di Procida, La Taverna dei Sapori. I lost track, but I think a six course meal, all Neapolitan themed Christmas dishes and one more tasty than the next, especially with the expertly paired wines! If you like REALLY good food, prepared especially for you, connect with her on FB and go enjoy her kitchen and the love that comes out of it! ===== original post ===== We visited here this evening because we have been following her wonderful posts on FB for years and now that we have returned to Napoli we had the chance to check it out in person! We shared the restaurant with only one other family tonight. The food was VERY good. The bruschetta may have been the best ever! Fresh, garlicky and just a touch salty - overall perfect! The wine pairing that she recommended was excellent! I had the orchiaetta pasta and my wife had zuppe di cozze and my son has seafood pasta. All three dishes were a hit! (My other son had risotto and it was not great - but in true fashion she didn’t charge us for it, since he didn’t eat it.) A wonderful meal and I look forward to returning soon, especially after so many years away!

31/12/2024: È un isola felice immersa tra gli aranci a pochi Minuti dalla casina Vanvitelliana e dal mare di Bacoli e Pozzuoli. Abbiamo dormito una notte nelle loro belle camere e fatto una colazione super con tutti prodotti genuini di loro produzione. Personale gentilissimo e accogliente. Torneremo presto per provare i loro piatti a pranzo!

30/12/2024: Very very nice place, nature theme with very high quality sandwiches, pizzas and cheesesteaks. Good choice of beers, very nice atmosphere. Located on the main road in the center of Bacoli near the charming municipal house of the town near Lake Miseno

29/12/2024: An incredible discovery that greatly surprised me. As a child I frequented these places because in those places there was a large and organized games room. Unfortunately, over time, habits changed and the venues remained closed for a long time. I also discover that the place registers a historical trademark, the famous sunrise, which is known by many for its cheese steak...a wonderful sandwich made with meat and cheese. A dear friend of mine arranges to meet me in this place for an aperitif and the surprise becomes reality. Compliments. I'll be back to try the sandwich

12/11/2024: A splendid terrace and excellent seafood cuisine. If I can only make a suggestion, given that with the beauty of the panorama it is natural to want to eat on the gazebo terrace even with the first cold weather, (instead of making use of the beautiful internal room) I would prepare the heating either with infrared heaters obtained in the frame of the gazebo or with classic gas mushroom stoves. For the rest everything was nice and good, an enchanting view and a valet who is a true gentleman

06/10/2024: Questo locale è perfetto per pranzo per godersi lo spettacolo del panorama. Comunque si mangia benissimo e i prodotti sono di primissima qualità, buono il servizio. Il locale dispone di un ampio parcheggio gestito da una persona speciale. Complimenti alla proprietaria!

17/01/2025: Characteristic restaurant, if you are in Bacoli to visit this splendid municipality, go for lunch or dinner at Family Nest, you will find a characteristic environment, friendly and professional staff, but above all truly delicious food. I recommend the family nest starters and you'll be spoiled for choice between excellent first courses and second courses of meat.

31/01/2025: The BEST gluten-free pizza in Naples or rather in Italy. I have been celiac since birth and have been everywhere in Italy. There is a corner of the pizzeria dedicated only to gluten-free products with a wood-fired oven. Congratulations indeed!

31/01/2025: On May 29th we chose the Guardascione pizzeria for the end-of-year middle school dinner with the teachers. It was chosen above all for gluten-free. Same menu for everyone with pizza, fries and drinks. I already know the pizzeria, they are very careful about gluten-free and the pizzas are really good. I had compliments from the professors for the organization and for the excellent dinner, but compliments go to all the staff of the pizzeria, they were helpful, kind, fantastic in everything. Thank you for the evening, thank you very much for my son and for the attention you gave. Thank you very much ❤️. See you soon

22/11/2024: The best surprise is the one you don't expect. Good and well cooked food, the owner has golden hands and her son (I think he looks like Buongiorno) is very nice and helpful. Place from another era, excellent value for money. Well done

14/10/2024: Lunch after swimming in the sea. Informal and family environment. Five of us. Well cooked first courses (Genoese pasta, with meat sauce, with fresh tomato). A mixed salad with Julienne cut beef. A beef burger with peppers,... Water, local bottled white wine, coffee. Income statement for how we ate. Generous portions. To return.

Ci siamo lasciati guidare dai consigli della cameriera, molto abile nell’individuare la scelta più adatta ai nostri gusti; grazie anche al sommelier che ha aggiunto un tocco in più con il giusto vino, coniugando le preferenze mie e dei miei amicio.Entrambi hanno lavorato sempre col sorriso mantenendo la professionalità, doti molto apprezzate e non sempre facili da riscontrare nella ristorazione. Prezzi assolutamente nella norma per la qualità della carne. Assolutamente consigliato!

07/02/2025: Mi dispiace dover spendere parole negative ma stavolta ho avuto un’esperienza del tutto pessima. Il piatto in oggetto mi ha provocato una colica addominale che mi comportato problematiche a livello intestinale per i due giorni a seguire. Inoltre, l’Entrecôte a menù con scritto (portata minima 300 gr) portarlo poi di 700 gr nell’effettivo è del tutto fuorviante e disonesto. A mai più!

22/11/2024: Abbiamo pranzato in questo splendido ristorante di domenica, in una giornata di sole sulla terrazzina. Il posto è incantevole avendo il porto di bacoli sotto e l’isola di Procida e Ischia davanti. Il cibo è di ottima qualità e il personale è molto gentile e preparato . Prezzi adeguati, grazie mille di tutto 😊

17/11/2024: Un'incantevole "finestra" su Procida ed Ischia.. Questo ristorante è uno scrigno di piacevoli emozioni ! Buon cibo, panorama mozzafiato, gentilezza e professionalità, hanno fatto da contorno ad un piacevolissima domenica in famiglia.. Allo Chef Salvatore ed al suo staff, i nostri complimenti !!!!

29/12/2024: Nice restaurant, strategically positioned to enjoy an exceptional view of the Bacoli marina; in the background the gulf of Pozzuoli with Vesuvius framing everything. Very nice restaurant, perfect location for intimate dinners and lunches. It wants to present itself as a high-class restaurant, with an intimate environment and a digital menu. The service was a little immature, however, having taken a bottle of wine we were not allowed to taste it before being poured; not bad, but it would have been a welcome gesture. Good mixed starters. Passable fried calamari, the fish was fresh but not crunchy and was a little greasy. Not bad sea urchin linguine. The unpleasant point was a linguine with clams that didn't find the "fit", arrived raw, obviously sent back and returned clearly "refried" in the pan but with cold clams. They were probably set aside before being dipped back into the pan for further cooking; perhaps it was earlier to make it from scratch also because "rewashing" it in the pan with more water loses its flavor, too bad! Nice gesture to bring us a small sote to apologize but when it arrived, about 15 minutes after clearing the table, we had already paid for it and we were getting dressed to leave. An experience that unfortunately I will not want to repeat. "I add in response that it would be better to accept criticism when it is constructive. I seem to have also paid you compliments but you concentrated on underlining that you had done me a "courtesy" by satisfying a request I had kindly made for an objectively raw dish; I find it presumptuous...it's a shame" He's taking the stars off himself, in fact I took them off during the service, the view is still exceptional but the credit goes to others... with this I salute you.
