17/07/2026: On our way back from Crotone, we decided to go out to Trebisacce for dinner... a terrible idea! The welcome was cold and unwelcoming... while I noticed they were very friendly with their fellow villagers... then they didn't have many items on the menu... they said, "No, sorry, but we don't do that right now... so why not take it off the menu?" I asked myself... I don't know! The food we chose wasn't great... in conclusion, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE... lack of hospitality, service, and food that leaves much to be desired... HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED 👎👎👎

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with great warmth, but what made the experience even more wonderful was the owner, who shared the history of the restaurant and its history with passion and authenticity. It was like being guests in the house, not just customers. The pasta with anchovies was simply spectacular: authentic flavors, perfectly balanced, and prepared with great care. Each dish reflects Calabrian tradition and a love for local cuisine. The service was impeccable: attentive, fast, professional, and always with a smile. You can feel the entire staff's passion for ensuring guests have an unforgettable experience. A restaurant where quality, hospitality, and tradition come together perfectly. If you're passing through Trebisacce, stopping at Il Grillo isn't just a recommendation, it's a must. Kudos to the entire staff; we'll definitely be back!

01/08/2026: Apparently I've been there before as a kid, but honestly, I don't remember it. I can only say that my experience wasn't very impressive, perhaps because I had higher expectations than I actually had. I ordered the lobster rings, and honestly, I didn't like them very much. First, the lobster meat was so thin that I couldn't pair the lobster with the pasta, resulting in only two or three forkfuls of small pieces. The remaining pasta portion, about 80%, I ate as if it were pasta with tomato sauce, and honestly, I wasn't too crazy about it. The grilled meat wasn't bad, but I only liked the sea bass, which had a good flavor. The rest was just good but not impressive. Perhaps I'm too picky and particular in taste, but I didn't really enjoy this dinner, but as far as the quality of the product goes, everything was fresh and excellent. When I eat, I like quantity and, above all, flavor, but these dishes tasted better than other restaurants, but not quite up to the mark to say it was worth it. Maybe it also depends on what I ordered, but honestly, at this point, I don't really care. First impressions are the most impactful, and mine was really basic, so much so that I found it disappointing. The staff is attentive and friendly enough, but they don't convey the closeness and sense of kindness that they convey in other restaurants. But that seems fair. In conclusion, although I honestly expected a lot, I would have done better to order the usual dishes, since they seemed tastier. P.S.: Even with the fans on, it was sweaty.
