24/08/2025: We visited this restaurant-pizzeria the other evening: an overall mixed experience.
The pizza is truly excellent: light, well-leavened, and very digestible dough, with fresh, quality ingredients that are noticeable from the first bite. Truly one of the best pizzas in the area.
Unfortunately, the service doesn't live up to the cuisine. We arrived at 8:35 PM, but our order wasn't taken until 9:10 PM, and in the meantime, we watched waiters serve customers who arrived after us. Our pizzas were finally brought to us at 9:50 PM: a long and frustrating wait that partially ruined the enjoyment of the evening.
I understand the restaurant is busy, but serving a table after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting isn't fair, especially since customers who arrived later had dined much earlier.
A real shame: with better service, it would be a restaurant worthy of a full 5-star rating, but this way, despite the excellent pizza, the experience is severely compromised.

29/07/2025: Truly a perfect place, it feels like you're having a barbecue at your own country house, using only their own produce. The cuts of meat are exceptional, not to mention the wine. I highly recommend it.
24/07/2025: It's literally a true agriturismo, serving only their own produce. Vegetables, meats, cured meats, and cheeses are all top-quality. They don't offer first courses or desserts. The location is casual but welcoming. All the dishes are excellent value. Highly recommended! Reservations are recommended, as there aren't many outdoor seating areas.

We returned a year later. The meat remained top-notch, and they've added traditional desserts like Pizzo truffle. We'll be happy to return in the coming days.

14/07/2025: Total Disappointment – Inedible Fried Calamari
I hate to leave a negative review, but what I received from Pizzeria Rosticceria URLO is unacceptable, especially in a seaside town like Cariati, known for its fishing and excellent seafood.
I ordered fried calamari (see attached photo), and they seemed anything but fresh: rubbery, tasteless, clearly frozen for a long time. No crunch, no seafood—just a stale, artificial flavor. It felt like chewing plastic.
In a coastal area traditionally associated with seafood, serving such a product is disrespectful to the customer and to local tradition. It's a shame, because the place has potential, but I wouldn't return with this quality.
The pizza was decent, nothing exceptional, but still edible.

08/04/2025: In Cariati for a motorcycle event we went to the Santoro pastry bar for breakfast which has an agreement with the Fior di Cappero B&B. Mr. Antonio was very kind and I tasted one of the best crapfen of my life. Highly recommended for the authenticity of true classic pastry making

21/06/2025: On holiday in Cariati I went to this place with my husband and our dog for the first time tonight (20/06/2025). I had a S. Gennaro pizza, my husband a Diavola pizza with the addition of 'nduja. We were satisfied with the dough, the generous topping, the digestibility.
Friendly staff, fair prices.
The only suggestion I would give is to include the half liter or quarter for the wine instead of just the bottle. If a person goes to eat alone or as a couple, but only one of the two drinks wine, it is not conceivable to order a bottle for €12 (i.e. the cost of two classic pizzas!), to drink half a glass. Since not everyone likes to take away what is left over for either food or drinks, in the end you give up wine altogether. Of course there is beer in different measures, but not everyone likes beer just as not everyone likes to pair pizza with fizzy drinks in cans!
The lack of "bulk" wine in the menu is the reason why I give four stars, otherwise I would have given five without reservations...

04/08/2025: I'm also negative about the quality of the food. We ordered spaghetti with clams, and they were frozen. The grilled swordfish with side dishes was of poor quality. The service was unpleasant, and we were traveling with four children.
The only redeeming feature was the pizza.
We won't be returning.
25/07/2025: Passing through the area, we discovered this restaurant nestled in the lush greenery along the waterfront, offering a beautiful view during al fresco dining. As soon as we arrived in the large parking lot, we were greeted by the staff. We chose to dine al fresco; the rooms are spacious and well-maintained, and the outdoor area was spotless. The restaurant manager advised us on the daily menu, featuring fresh catches. We opted for seafood starters, grilled fish, and octopus salad. The quality/price ratio was excellent, but what struck us most was how attentive the entire staff made us feel at home. The chef, perhaps the owner, personally came by several times to make sure everything was running smoothly. On behalf of myself and all my fellow travelers, I would like to thank the youngest waiter, Marco, who so kindly found us a great place to spend the night. I highly recommend this place.

20/08/2025: Touted as a must-see location, but sadly disappointed. The service was quick, nothing to write home about. The sailing ship would probably be better seen during the day. We ordered fried food and tuna, but due to the smell and cooking, we didn't eat them. Terrible.
19/08/2025: Good morning, I feel compelled to give one star.
Unfortunately, I dined at this restaurant, but it was a terrible experience. After ordering pizza, I had to wait 45 minutes. To tide me over, I asked the waiter for some bread. It never arrived, despite the staff chatting among themselves. When it arrived, the pizza was burnt. I asked for a new one, but after another wait, the new one arrived with ingredients that weren't as described, and the dough hadn't risen properly. When it came time to pay, I pointed out the various mix-ups, but the fact remains that nothing changed, and they still charged me for the pizza. The price was too high for two pizzas and a water. If you want to come to this place, it's best not to order the pizza.

22/07/2025: Ottimo ristorante vista mare, (l’unica cosa che vale a Cariati potremmo dire), porzioni giganti te ne vai più che sazio. Ho preso spaghetti alle vongole e sembrava di mangiare il mare per quanto erano saporiti! conto di andare quasi una volta a settimana ! Rapporto qualità prezzo clamoroso
11/07/2025: Ci troviamo a Cariati per una vacanza e siamo stati ieri sera in questo locale. Sei persone.
Ci avevano consigliato questo ristorante ma solo dopo la mia esperienza negativa ho letto molte altre recensioni decisamente NON positive.
Appena preso posto ho notato un bicchiere scheggiato che ho fatto sostituire dal cameriere.
Abbiamo poi ordinato degli spaghetti con le vongole e molte vongole erano chiuse, piene di sabbia ed altre addirittura puzzolenti.
L'insalata di polpo era immangiabile. Il polpo era mollo e senza sapore.
Stessa cosa per la frittura di calamari con questi ultimi chiaramente non freschi e di dubbia provenienza. Molli e privi si sapore. Proprio sulla frittura di calamari vorrei aggiungere altro.
Ad un certo punto ci ho trovato dentro un pelo/capello. Ho chiamato il cameriere ed ho segnalato la cosa. Inizialmente il cameriere ha preso il piatto e lo ha riportato in cucina.
Dopo un po ritorna e farfuglia alcune cose del tipo: "lo chef è un uomo, ha i capelli corti ed il cappello da chef come protezione".
In pratica stavano affermando che il pelo fosse caduto nella pietanza per colpa mia.
Ho fatto notare al cameriere che io stesso ho i capelli rasati e quel capello non corrispondeva per colore a nessuna capigliatura dei presenti.
Certamente i peli non ce li portiamo da casa per insaporire le pietanze al ristorante.
Mai capitata una cosa del genere con personale che mette in dubbio la presenza di un pelo in un piatto.
Ritornato a casa mi è poi venuta l'idea di andare a controllare la foto della pietanza che avevo scattato appena servita.
Per fugare a noi stessi ogni dubbio.
Lo scatto alla pietanza era stato fatto con lo scopo di pubblicare delle storie sui social.
Dalla foto si nota benissimo il pelo.
Ho anche evidenziato cerchiando in rosso.
Nel momento dello scatto il piatto aveva lasciato la mano del cameriere da 2 secondi. Non lo avevo nemmeno toccato il piatto al momento dello scatto con il cellulare.
Si nota benissimo che la pietanza è ancora composta e non era stata neanche sfiorata dal sottoscritto.
Questo conferma ulteriormente senza alcuna riserva che il pelo/capello fosse già presente nella pietanza sin dalla cucina o da non so dove.
Magari erano passati dal W.C.
Davvero incomprensibili questi comportamenti da parte di un personale di sala.
Ho evitato di fare questione e lasciato correre perché in questi casi non serve.
Persone che si comportano così, negando l'evidenza, sono capaci di qualsiasi cosa e potrebbero portare la discussione ad altri livelli. Siamo in vacanza, vogliamo starcene sereni e rilassati ed ho evitato una questione consapevole che poi c'è la possibilità di fare (legittimamente e giustamente) delle recensioni.
Questo è uno di quei locali dove non si salva niente.
Da dimenticare tutto. Penosa qualità dei cibi e comportamento del personale ancora peggio.

12/07/2025: Il lido è un posto incantevole dove rilassarsi e godersi il mare. Spiaggia pulita, ombrelloni ben distanziati, personale gentile e disponibile. Il bar offre ottimi drink e piatti freschi, ideali per una pausa vista mare. L'atmosfera tranquilla e curata rende ogni giornata speciale. Consigliato!
11/07/2025: Perfetto in tutto, Nicola ti accoglie con un caffè Andrea ti delizia con i suoi manicaretti ,la spiaggia è sempre pulita ,ordinata e che dire il mare di cariati è stupendo. Consiglio la vacanza a Cariati e il lido Costa Azzurra ❣️❣️

04/08/2024: Premetto che ci andiamo da cinque anni e la materia prima è sempre ottima. Rispetto all'inizio della nostra esperienza negli anni hanno tolto dal menù serale le cose più particolari e anche buone(panini, pinse, insalate, verdure grigliate),che tra l'altro devono prepararle per alcune pizze), peccato.
